My success story consists of an old version of me and a new me. My journey started two years ago…read morewhen I was dreaming of how a skinnier version of me would impress myself, friends and family. I envisioned that my clothes would fit better, friends and family relationships would be fixed, and going to the pool would be more positive. I did everything that I could think of: meal prepping, going to the gym, ordering off of the "skinny" menu, buying trendy workout clothes to motivate me more. At the time, I was embarrassed that I was in this situation, and so I wanted to work on my insecurity, on my own. One day, I became frustrated at my level of insecurity and even more so, acknowledge that perhaps my "friends" weren't friends if they contributed to my insecurity. I came across a boot camp and without much thinking (because I didn't want to think too much of it) signed up for three times a week of boot camp for 8 months with a trainer and her female only group of trainees. I went to my first day, expecting the worse - that my insecurities would flare up and that all I would want to do was to fibble through the workout and not come back. Perhaps it was the trainer? Perhaps it was a good day at work? Perhaps pigs flew over our Texas skies, but I plopped my cleaned, unused mat and water bottle in the middle of the class and danced as if no one was watching. Soon enough, I realized that those around me were going through the same experiences. Some were encouraging, inspiring, motivating and eager to help. There was never any discussion on how someone should. There was no "should" way to lose weight, no "should" way to diet and no "should" way to do the exercise. The point was to get active and have fun doing whatever you're doing. Although I don't' reside close enough to attend the boot camp today, it is two years later, and I am attending other boot camps and doing the same exercises I learned from my brief 8 months at Buda Texas Fit Chicks. The new version of me is healthier. Since losing some weight, my priorities has change to where I don't need to go back on my old visions of myself. I don't care what pool people are thinking (if they are even thinking of me at all). I don't follow a strict "should" of boiled grilled chicken and broccoli recipe. I do whatever I feel is right for me and have fun doing it which is what I've learned during this boot camp. Thumbs up!

The gym itself, although on the smaller side, has been great. There are 6 treadmills, 6 elliptical…read moremachines, and 3 barbell squat racks but as for the rest there is only one of each machine. I've had my membership a few years now, most of which I was going at night time 10pm to avoid a crowd. That was good but was interfering with my sleep so I started going in the morning usually 8am. Now despite the fact that there is only 8-12 people during the daytime you will still find 2-3 people using multiple machines at once like a circuit training, instead of doing all of your sets on that machines, wiping it and moving on. This is horrible etiquette for a smaller gym with only one type of machine or equipment and there are no rules posted to discourage this. I wish these people would join a larger gym if they want to do circuit type training. Not great when you're on a time crunch waiting for a machine while someone is across the room on a totally different machine but have their towel and water bottle next to the machine holding their place. Something else I personally don't mind because I'm there to burn calories, is that I usually have to put other people's weights away, re-rack plates or organize then jump box's and kettlebells to clear an area before I use it if it's a Friday Saturday or Sunday. My complaints are mostly with the behaviors of the patrons which I know is not the fault of anytime fitness, I will be switching for a larger gym with more equipment in October. I will see if cancellation has any issues as other reviews have mentioned. I did have a small mixup trying to cancel back in June when I found out my contract was on auto-renew every year if you don't actually cancel the auto-renew option it will start a new year contract every year instead of going month-to-month after the initial one year contract signed. So I had to actually pause the membership at the next gym I'm going to in order to finish this second years' contract I was unaware I was signed up for. I'm sure it's in the fine print. The gym is great if you catch it with few people or totally empty it feels like a personal gym which I loved. The good thing about anytime fitness is you can use any location nationwide when you have the membership, which I visited several in austin, FM 1826 ended up being my main location for majority of my membership.

Overall the gym is kept very clean and the traffic never really gets to busy busy which is great in…read morea sense that you can get your entire workout done without waiting for a machine or weight set. It's not very big but it's big enough to meet my needs at least! If it were just a bit more roomy, it'd be better but like I said before, it doesn't really get busy so therefore you don't really notice that the machines are kind of crammed together.

They have lockers to store belongings, as well as clean bathrooms and changing rooms onsite. They also offer a variety of food choices which are pretty good & reasonably priced. Very few crowds if you arrive right at opening time. I was happy to see there were no lines at all for the slides. They open a half hour early for season pass members; general admission is 11am. Definitely worth checking out for a day of family fun in the hot TX summer!

Two areas it would be great to see more improvement: I do wish they'd offer free ice and/or the ability to bring in more water or that they'd offer water stations. Water gets too hot, too fast and people shouldn't have to pay for that over and over. I also wish they would require everyone in the lazy river to be on tubes. There were people walking through it? Kids were wildly chasing each other, swimming under people, jumping off tubes. It just wasn't safe. We will be back and it was great to see things better at TT!

It's a pretty big park, offering several different landscapes and activities. Great for families and outings with friends. The city views were beautiful. The forest and springs had that cooling effect that made the hot sun bearable. The springs were cold but very refreshing once fully submerged. A little too cold for my water loving 2 yr old. He also didn't like the green algae but still enjoyed the experience. Warning: VERY SLIPPERY in the springs and uneven rocky trails in some areas. Have water shoes if you don't like to be barefoot. The bottom of the springs swimming section feels smooth; slippery with some uneven dips. We stayed on the approved 4ft or less side for my kid's life vest. Bring a float or rent a canoe to enjoy the deeper waters. Pro:There are several ADA ramps we could have used for the stroller. As 1st time visitors we took some risky chances trekking down rocky slopes and too many stairs that wasn't necessary. Find the ramps. Con: Multiple entrances and parking. We were almost defeated by the parking situation on a Saturday early afternoon (1pm). We drove around over an hour looking for a spot in the many parking lots closer to the swimming pool section. With so many entries and people barely leaving it was a constant flow of new cars swooping in forcing us into lot loops. So close to turning back, we kept following the water trail and figure there had to be another way to the water! Bingo we parked on the other side of swimming section and took the 12 min walk directly through the fields to the pool area. If you're like us you'll drive around the parking lots so much you'll learn the landscapes. Must pay for parking. We got a ticket after following the advice that there are no parking fees on the weekend. Don't listen just pay the hourly rate parking fees. Swimming Pool Fee: There is a minimum fee associated with entering the springs. Fees are tiered by age and residence. As non-residents we only paid $13 ($9 adult/$4 young kid). Veterans are free, no ticket, must show VA ID. Reasonable fees for the amenities, especially the life guards and bathrooms. Downloading the app is easier and faster than standing in line at the credit card kiosks. The teller windows are a little faster but, cash only, We were pleasantly excited to also take advantage of the playground and train ride. Super cute. 2 year old loved both. Highly recommended for visitors who like to explore, be in nature and community, and stay cool.

What an interesting experience in 2026...rules rules rules!…read more I don't remember a lot of these limitations but I honestly think they're great: no speakers, only 16.9 fl oz water bottles, no gum or food, cash only except if you pay at the kiosk (still only $5). There was a man walking around politely policing everyone and it was really cool how he was doing it -- super friendly and respectful. I was there on a weekday and it was super crowded. The lifeguards were absolutely on top of their duties and that was super reassuring. They're doing everything they can to preserve the culture and atmosphere and it is super obvious. The water is cold...enjoy! But after a 15 minute doggy paddle or float, you'll feel the mystical healing properties of this majestical pool. I promise. My biggest headache was the kiosks and parking: the kiosks were having a hard time connecting to the network and two of the three actually shut down as well as parking being free but no postings or signage showing that it was.
