Over the past few months, Carmen's work with me has significantly improved how I feel throughout the day. With her training, I've discovered entire groups of muscles I never even knew I had. Mainly in my back. Building them up has made keeping decent posture easier throughout the day. That's my primary goal and it's clearly happening. I hold myself differently and feel more comfortable, especially at my shoulders and lower back. My lower back pain is gone. I sleep better and feel more confident walking around. Carmen has a real intuition for the body's movement, reminding me of my ballerina sister. Carmen can tell just by watching when something is off. She listens to your goals and helps you work steadily towards achieving them. She changes up routines everyday so I am never bored. When I started, I was not into working out, but I was active because of my hectic and stressful schedule. Hiring her was the best thing I have ever done for myself. I look forward to my work outs, and the benefits I am experiencing are beyond my expectations. I am strong. I am fit. I am healthy. I feel much less stressed. I have more energy. I am a happier person all around. She is an absolutely amazing trainer!

The gym itself, although on the smaller side, has been great. There are 6 treadmills, 6 elliptical…read moremachines, and 3 barbell squat racks but as for the rest there is only one of each machine. I've had my membership a few years now, most of which I was going at night time 10pm to avoid a crowd. That was good but was interfering with my sleep so I started going in the morning usually 8am. Now despite the fact that there is only 8-12 people during the daytime you will still find 2-3 people using multiple machines at once like a circuit training, instead of doing all of your sets on that machines, wiping it and moving on. This is horrible etiquette for a smaller gym with only one type of machine or equipment and there are no rules posted to discourage this. I wish these people would join a larger gym if they want to do circuit type training. Not great when you're on a time crunch waiting for a machine while someone is across the room on a totally different machine but have their towel and water bottle next to the machine holding their place. Something else I personally don't mind because I'm there to burn calories, is that I usually have to put other people's weights away, re-rack plates or organize then jump box's and kettlebells to clear an area before I use it if it's a Friday Saturday or Sunday. My complaints are mostly with the behaviors of the patrons which I know is not the fault of anytime fitness, I will be switching for a larger gym with more equipment in October. I will see if cancellation has any issues as other reviews have mentioned. I did have a small mixup trying to cancel back in June when I found out my contract was on auto-renew every year if you don't actually cancel the auto-renew option it will start a new year contract every year instead of going month-to-month after the initial one year contract signed. So I had to actually pause the membership at the next gym I'm going to in order to finish this second years' contract I was unaware I was signed up for. I'm sure it's in the fine print. The gym is great if you catch it with few people or totally empty it feels like a personal gym which I loved. The good thing about anytime fitness is you can use any location nationwide when you have the membership, which I visited several in austin, FM 1826 ended up being my main location for majority of my membership.

Overall the gym is kept very clean and the traffic never really gets to busy busy which is great in…read morea sense that you can get your entire workout done without waiting for a machine or weight set. It's not very big but it's big enough to meet my needs at least! If it were just a bit more roomy, it'd be better but like I said before, it doesn't really get busy so therefore you don't really notice that the machines are kind of crammed together.
