While out East Nick and I went to see Aladdin in 3D. We had planned prior to this vacation we wanted to see it together and realized it was coming out while I would be out there. Nick had gone online and brought the tickets ahead of time. She told me they were roughly 11-12 dollars after tax, which she commented on was really cheap for out there. On the opposite end, snacks at the concession stand were very expensive. Over 3 dollars for a small candy box. Getting the theater and snack experience is becoming a lost love. People just can't spend that kind of money anymore for a relaxing and simply night out. The theater we were in wasn't crazy packed, so that was nice. I did have to prop myself up in the seat a little because the floor slant wasn't enough for me to see over the tops of the row in front of me if I didn't do so. Thankfully there were people sitting in those seats, and they chose to recline their seats which helped. I'd come here again if I was visiting my friend and we wanted to see a movie, but I am a fan of the AMC A-lister thing, and if I was to go to more movies, I would stick with that since it's cheaper and I can go to many more movies. I love movies, so I couldn't afford to go as much as I do if the tickets were 11-12 dollars on the cheap end.

This is the only theater in the area. I'm not sure how the theater looked and smelled prior to renovations, but I can say that every time I've gone has been a decent experience. This theater does not show movies before Noon. When I go, it's during matinee and my ticket is only $5.50. They have typical snacks, and are in the process of upgrading their food selection. The seats are assigned, as it seems to be the recurring theme nowadays. You can even order your tickets online. I love that! The screens are huge and the sound/picture are good. It's still a very small theater. Big blockbusters do get crowded quickly, so be mindful of that before taking a trip.

    Great cozy movie theater

The reason you'd go here instead of there is simply convenience. The seats are rigid and small, and it's not a great way to watch a long event movie. The first two rows were apparently held vacant for my showing, which makes me wonder why you'd build a theater where the front row seats are so bad that they're blocked from use. I arrived early, but despite them having no trailers apart from a commercial for the museum you're already in, my movie still started 10-15 minutes after the listed time and thus finished rather late at night. It just isn't the top-notch entertainment experience I think that the nation's capital deserves.

It seems like people don't realize they are showing Hollywood movies here after dark because the theater was at least 75% empty. It is very clean and comfortable, and the massive screen really makes a difference. A few tips: + You have to enter on the Jefferson Street side, which is the entrance facing the Mall. + They do have concessions. You can get popcorn, though it's the prepackaged kind, not fresh. There are both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available, too. We had a tasty IPA from Red Bear. The museum lets you bring in bottled water, too. + The seats, while padded and comfortable, do not lean back, so it is difficult to see the screen unless you are sitting in the top half of the theater. I say Row J and above are best. You choose seats at the time of buying tickets. + When you enter, go left, there are signs for the theater, but there were also plenty of guards present telling people where to go. It was pretty easy. At the end of the show, the bathrooms are located in the basement level. The main drawback here is the theater has very bright blue lights illuminating the stairs that are not turned off during the movie. They completely wash out the bottom 10-20% of the screen. For the Bride, only a few scenes were in the IMAX format, so it wasn't a huge deal, but if you see an action movie that uses the format more, I can see it really ruining the experience. It seems like a pretty easy fix to block the lights from shining on the screen, like little covers over the top of the light fixtures, so the fact that they don't do anything about it is pretty disheartening. Overall, it is a unique experience worth trying, but if you are a lover of the IMAX format and are seeing a movie you are excited about, I have to recommend finding another IMAX option if you can.

The seats are really soft, so if I know a movie is gonna be LONG, I come here. The waiters and front desk are usually very nice and attentive (unless it's a sold out film and they're running around trying to get everyone). The food options here are pretty good! Don't expect Gordon Ramsay food, but it's better food than what you'd get at AMC. I do love how every Alamo is decorated in the fashion of their area. Because we're near DCA, our theater is an airport theme. It's really cute. I do have two qualms: Sometimes they turn off the escalators and if you're handicapped like me, there's no way to get up to the next level. They don't usually like customers using the elevators, but what can you do? Also they have big talk about kicking people out in their phones, but when you complain about someone, the waiters are too afraid to do anything. I saw The Apartment here and there was a guy literally talking on the phone. Three other customers complained about the guy and the waiters did nothing. I had to go over and yell at the guy myself. My BEST TIP for you: if you're hungry and want your food and drinks fast, get to your showtime 15 mins early. You'll have your stuff before the movie starts. If you come on time, you won't see any of that food until the 30 mins into the movie.

Theater 1 isn't clearly labeled and you just have to know it's the large main room. The ordering system also takes some getting used to. You start with a QR code but at a certain point it cuts off and you have to handwrite your order on a paper slip and press a button to call your server. In a very dark theater that's not practical, and there's no confirmation that the button was actually pressed. Service was inconsistent. We ordered bottomless popcorn and M&Ms. The M&Ms arrived after about 15 minutes but I had to remind them about the popcorn, which didn't come until nearly 45 minutes into the movie. We skipped ordering real food because we weren't confident it would arrive in time to enjoy during the film. That said, the chairs are comfortable, the staff is friendly, and the pricing is noticeably better than other dine-in theaters in the DMV. It has real potential. Just go in knowing it rewards regulars more than first timers.

This theater used to be such a great alternative to the more mainstream vibe of the Annapolis Mall, but over the last year, it's just become kind of a disappointment. It's bad enough that it's expensive to see a film here, but they don't really show a lot of the indie films anymore which used to be their big selling point. Today I lucked out and got to see The Brutalist, but normally this theater shows essentially the same films they show at the mall around the corner. Not only that, but during my movie, the walls were so thin that I could hear the movie in the neighboring theater. And considering that the auditoriums are also in a various state of disrepair, why would I spend more money to see the same movie in a not as nice theater....? This theater is sadly in dire need of a facelift if they want to compete with other theaters nearby in my opinion.

We arrived early around 5:45pm and went 4mins around the corner to Electric palm (yummy) for food. Parking spaces are available on site. I suggest to get there right when they open @7pm or earlier. Spaces do get tight and it gets crowded quick. The sooner the better and you don't have to wait as long. The general admission is $20. They give you a ticketed number. Then you have to wait til your ticket number is within the group numbers called on the tv screens to go on the trail. However, while you wait you can purchase paintball for a extra $7 & the escape room for $5. I do think they can approve with the extra add-ons. The escape room is in a little trailer & you have only 5mins to find a key. The paintball is set up in a little tent & you just hit zombies on a projector screen. I feel like they can improve the paintball by opening up another part of the field with stadium lights an actually have a game going on. If it be with two teams of customers at a time or customers against zombies. There is also a free movie playing to bypass time. Every night theres a diff movie. They also, have food trucks & a bar with two bartenders. I suggest they include one or two more bars to help with the lines. So, I say at least six bartenders. Also, need to have more selections in the alcohol ( they didn't have Hennessy). Anyway, the trial itself was really fun. It lasted a good 35-40mins or more. I appreciate that compared to other haunted attractions that are over in a blink of an eye. I loved all the props, the scenery, & actors. I was scared a good few times. My fav three parts was the sucken bridge ( feels like you're falling thru), the scene where its a green fog room like walking thru a pond or forest & the actual walk thru the diff parts of the jail! I will def recommend and will be back as long as they make improvements & change the trail every year.
