Having previously visited Russian River, and with another favorite local brewery being closed (Bear Republic) I decided to do the next best thing after a local hike: visit a taproom. Based on Yelp reviews I picked one out from a cluster of places near my hotel. Enter Flagship Taproom. (Plus they had food; and I was getting hungry.) Vibe: Quite the difference from Russian River Brewing on the previous evening - Flagship Taproom was completely DEAD at about 7 pm - There was only one other patron when I arrived. (I should have turned around then). Big screen TVs everywhere gave it a sports-bar feel. But the overly-loud, piped-in music also gave it a club feel. Somewhat annoying (and a little depressing) but I required refreshment...Stat! (Unfortunately, the loud & bad music selection would wear me down over time.) Beer: A nice list here. About 25 to choose from. Choices were displayed on monitors above the bar. I ordered a round of smaller tasters and perused the food menu. The bartender I spoke with also seemed to know his brews. Food: A letdown. There was no actual cook here (at least none that I saw). It seemed at least half the menu was "paint-by-numbers" cooking. Specifically, ingredients from various packages & bins were assembled by the bartenders, then placed in a small, customized convection oven with a keypad. (A different code was pressed for each dish). As a few more patrons arrived I saw mini-pizzas, nachos, pretzels, and garlic bread dishes prepared this way. (I had already ordered some nachos by that point). Maybe I'm a snob, but I got pretty unexcited about my food after seeing this setup. As for my nachos, they sated my growing hunger, but they were very average. My special thanks (NOT) to Yelpers before me who've given Flagship Taproom a full five stars and made claims like: "amazing food." For my part, after 45 minutes I couldn't wait to escape the grating music after finishing my mediocre dish from the EZ-Bake Oven School of Cooking. Four stars for the beer selection, but for me everything else here fell far short of the mark. read more

Last time we were at this place it was Springers taproom. Me and the wife came for lunch the weather was not that great. Went in ordered our beers the lady that helped us was so nice and friendly. We ordered our food went outside on and sat down. Like I said the weather was not that good cold and rain on and off. The guy came outside and turned on the heater on next to us it so much better after that. The wife and I shared Buffalo wings and barbecue tri-tip nachos. The food was so good. went to flagship taproom 3/2/2026, sat at the bar and there was only 1 other person at the bar. the bartender was slow to acknowledge me. got a beer and was going to order food. he never asked if i wanted a menu. i got up and went to the cash register where the menus were, went back to my seat. the menu was stained with food, big no-no! he never asked me if i wanted to order. while drinking my beer and whisky, started to observe the kitchen operations, there was was food all over the floor, the sandwich cutting board was wiped with a kitchen towel between orders, but not sanitized. the entire time i was there the menu laid on the bar, but was never asked if i wanted to to order. some of the food that came out of the turbo vens was burnt, but still served. he didnt use gloves when plating the ready to eat food, all the while trying to multi task bartending and cooking, poorly. he was slow to ask if i wanted another drink, because he was busy cooking food orders cooming in through the printer.when i paid for my drinks, i told him about my experience, he divulged he was the part owner, and asked me to finish up and leave. i drank my whisky and left the full beer behind. it was approximately 8;30 pm, guess he had somewhere else to be, or didnt like my comments, rather strange for a part owner of a restaurant\bar. guaranteeing the fact i will never return. if you like poor service and burnt food, this is the place for you! read more

We ordered chips & salsa, wings and flatbread unfortunately nothing was great. The flatbread wasn't fully cooked so it was pretty chewy, the salsa and chips were store bought and average at best. We love Flagship. I used to love the previous business here as well. Flagship has such an amazing selection of beers and food. We love stopping here when we're biking around town. The staff is always so incredible and has recommendations ready to go. We LOVE the garlic bread. It's an absolute must-try. It is very garlicky. Recently they were out of the rosemary aioli for it and honestly, we liked it more without it! We weren't sure at first but it was still great. The jackfruit thing though... I'm not quite on board with that. I had the hummus plate and it came with grilled jackfruit. It's a little spicy. More spicy than you expect. My partner liked it. It just took me by surprise. Also, note that the hummus comes with red pepper flakes! It's not listed on the menu so if you don't like pepper, make sure to ask for it without! Overall, we love this place. What a great surprise finding these on the special board. The Turkey burgers were as juicy as can be because of the chopped bacon that was added to the patties before cooking. The cheeseburger was a mixture of chuck roast and ground short ribs, what a flavor! I'll be back! read more

So excited to see that Flagship Taproom has opened their second location! Moving into the old Sprenger location, Flagship is definitely making a name for itself in the Sonoma County bar scene. Decided to meet here with some old coworkers on a Wednesday afternoon. From the front outdoor seating area to the large bar inside, I'd say it's about double the size of the Cotati location. As usual, the beer list was exhaustive and full of variety (just the way I like it). Despite having just opened, and in the midst of a pandemic no less, they had a healthy number of customers on this particular day. My guess, and my hope, is that once social distancing rules loosen up they'll host events, trivia nights and live music. But in the meantime, if you just can't decide which local SoCo beer you're in the mood for, come to Flagship-I'm sure they'll have it on tap! read more

Stumbled upon flagship while looking for a good place to have some beers. It's a few blocks down from the heart of downtown santa rosa, and seemed like more of a spot that the locals go to. They had about 20 beers with a wide selection. I really enjoyed my flight 4 beers 5 oz pours for only $12, and they seem to do events every so often for a little bit of fun. Many screens for all of your sport watching needs. Definitely a place I would recommend and return to again! read more

Hard to believe it's been two years since we've visited this location, way back when it used to be Sprengers taproom. The interior/exterior are reminiscent and the beer selection is excellent, however what really delighted us was the new food menu. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon to a seemingly quiet day in the taproom. We were greeted by their friendly associate Rudy and grabbed a comfy seat near the doorway and large screen TV. Sharing was our plan of action, so we split an order of the sourdough crostini and brie (the garlic/rosemary dip was to die for), the soft pretzel and nacho sauce, and the pepperoni and basil flatbread with added chopped garlic, there can never be enough garlic! The younger chef who brought the items to our table was very nice and gave the dishes a lovely presentation for us to enjoy. I hope to return on a night where they offer live music as we could see special lighting and sound equipment set up nearby. Lives up to the cliche that breweries seem to have bad food. The first time we went it was good, but it strongly depends on who's cooking. The other day I think a new kid made our "flatbreads," which were more like Pizza Hut thick crust slices. Cheese was-over piled so high that it was cold and wasn't melted, canned-style sauce had been slathered on, they put very minimal toppings on that weren't really cooked. And the dough was thick, flavorless, and chewy. Oddly enough, the "dry rub" wings had no dry rub or seasoning. The pretzel was dense and dry, like high school cafeteria quality. Tab came out to around $60. We were perplexed as to how the place stays in business with other decent options around, many other unexplored breweries that may help dispel their food-failing associations. We at least had fun and several good laughs picking at the mess, making fun of the slop that was presented to us. read more

The Dutch crunch roll on the chicken club sandwich was simply to die for. Also big thick strips of bacon on both the sandwich and the pizza really sent this food into the next dimension. This place was great to grab a beer while we waited for dinner reservations close by. Flagship Taproom had a great variety of beers and it was nice to be able to try two different IPAs. I got the Hollow Moon Hazy IPA from HenHouse Brewing Company and it was great! My friend got a Sour beer and really enjoyed it as well. Knowing the owners of all (3) of the Flagships and always being a supporter an a fellow industry person. This last visit was a complete disappointment... l came in with a group of friends and we started off ordering an sitting close to the door. One person in our group had a dog. He was inside for a minute and then he was told to put him outside as it was a health code issue. No worries. Done! We ordered food and the plates were lovely very nice presentation and good. I went up to order a second drink and some food. I noticed the one of the owners and said hello, he was abrupt rude and unfriendly. I reminded him how we knew each other and his response was so dismissive l just kind of went back to waiting on my order. I asked the guy taking orders at that time as well as being the cook. I asked for a glass of the draft wine and his response was "we don't have that!" I ordered a glass of bottled wine instead and a appetizer plate. Went back to our table and sat there for about 10 minutes. No one brought the glass of wine or food, l looked up at the bar they all were standing around chatting laughing. I went up about 5 minutes later and the young girl who originally helped me asked if l needed anything? I said, l had placed an order for a glass of wine and appetizer about 15 minutes ago and wondered if they had forgot? She was very apologetic and looked it up on the POS and it had not went through and she immediately poured the glass of wine and actually poured another glass of wine and l said, l only ordered one and she apologized and said, please have it no charge. She said l will have your appetizer out shortly. I went back to our table. During this time the dog was outside and barking off and on not excessively just making himself known people were petting him. The guy who was working the food line was giving our group dirty looks and making comments about the dog. Also, the music was so loud we could not have a conversation and had to talk so loud to hear each other. The appetizer arrived and again the girl was so nice and again apologized. The plate was again really good. One of our people in the group had to leave, so we moved outside and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon. I went in closed out my bill. I just REALLY was surprised in my experience at Flagship this time. The silver lining the girl who obviously understands service and customer service. That was why l left a tip, l hope you sit your team and manager down and go over how to talk to people and check in with your patrons. read more

Visiting from Long Beach, and knowing how much I love my local breweries, I wanted to see what Santa Rosa has to offer. Flagship Taproom was the perfect place because it has a sizable selection of local beer (alongside some more popular craft beers) plus a kitchen (yay, food!). The New England IPAs and pale ale caught my eye and so I added a saison and had a flight. This was one of those rare occasions where I thoroughly enjoyed every beer in my flight!!! Flagship also nailed the casual brewery atmosphere but managed to avoid being boring thanks to the music. Service was great and my beertender was friendly and knowledgeable. And let's not forget the pizza! I got the pepperoni and basil because I like a margherita-ish pizza. It's a flatbread style and the perfect size to have alongside beer. We have been to Flagship a few times since it opened. The beer selection is good, but I am a huge Hazy IPA fan and feel it needs to be more represented. Also, the wife only drinks Pinser/Lagers and we rarely find more than one choice. Lots of West Coast IPA's and Saisons and the such. You order at the bar which is a quick way to get a beer.
