Every beercation I go on, I start with my top breweries and end up visiting others I've never heard of. This was one of the latter and it ended up being one of my favorite of the entire trip. It's very modern and open, right in downtown Santa Rosa near other excellent breweries. They had lots of seating, plus a pool table and pinball area. The Mexican food truck pulled right up to a door next to the bar- we loved the food too! The beers were excellent, lots to choose from at reasonable prices. It was a happy and friendly place with lots of groups having fun while listen to great music. The bartenders were super nice, quick to pour and even gave me a few for free. It ended up being trivia night so we stayed for that and had a blast! After I ran out of draft beers to try, I switched to cans of a few others you can drink on site or take to go. read more

Really cool new brewery! Ive stopped by a few times due to location convenience. I'm not a beer person at all but cooperage offers some pretty tolerable ciders that I'll grab now and then to make me feel like I'm participating. They also have various food trucks on rotation so it's always something new to try food wise. The atmosphere is lively without being overwhelming and staff is always friendly. Even on the busiest days we've been able to score seating. The location is pretty huge. Overall 9/10. If your friends pick this place, just go with it, you might actually end up enjoying yourself like I did. read more

Cooperage is an awesome open space brewery in downtown Santa Rosa. They have bar games, arcade games, food trucks, and good beer! At this kid friendly brewery spot you can find rotating food trucks that pull right up to the side of the building. No need to even go outside to order! There isn't an outdoor space but there is lots of open air with the large rolling doors and windows. I loved the real dart boards, the pool table, the pinball machines, and the cool wall art. The beer here was pretty good. I don't think it's the best in the area, but certainly worth tasting. The atmosphere of this place is worth visiting even if the beer isn't your cup of tea. If you're in downtown Santa Rosa, stop by here for a great time! read more

What. A. GREAT. 2nd. Location! Oh my gosh, I had NO idea what to expect when entering that unassuming building. Backing up a bit... Hubby and I were working on our FeBREWary/Beer Passport and went to Civilization Brewing. After enjoying a great beer there, they recommended we walk over to Cooperage and we didn't argue. (hehe) (We live near and walk to the original location regularly and hadn't felt the need to check out their new spot.) I noticed the food truck but no lines, didn't see any cars in the lot next door, so I assumed it was closed. BOY WAS I WRONG!! This place was so alive and vibrant and packed. I loved everything about it! The pinball machines, dart boards, TVs to catch a game, beautiful wood tables and bar, so much seating, indoor ordering window (how brilliant!! Cooperage - what a freaking smart move!), bowls of dog bones for our furry friends, and so on. The rest is our typical experience ... Enjoyed a beer. Came home with a four-pack. Now I will be torn on where to enjoy a Cooperage beer when the desire strikes. read more

Tried and true - Cooperage has opened up a new tap room in downtown santa rosa - and it is great! Large selection of locally brewed beers with a big enough menu to please just about everyone. I love the cool vibe and great selection of craft beer at this brewery. The shared tables are fun. The beer selection is great, try the Keg Slayer and Bow Down. We were really excited to find out Cooperage was opening another location. We are a big fan of their beers and this visit didn't disappoint. I'm not sure if this will be the normal or because it was opening weekend, but it was PACKED when we arrived. We didn't have to wait too long in line for beer and the food truck line was short too. What a fantastic spot! Every time we've visited, it's been a wonderful experience with lots of seating, super friendly bartenders, and clean restrooms. They switch up the food trucks almost daily, which gives you a chance to check out new local eateries. Galvin's is always a hit; this time they had wood-fired pizza truck, and it was delicious, with really fresh ingredients. Overall, I really appreciate how dog-friendly it is. We have a 13-month-old toddler and she absolutely loves seeing all the dogs around. This weekend, we were near a cute golden retriever who kept trying to steal her socks, and it was just the cutest thing--she loved it and was totally entertained. read more

Went here yesterday afternoon on our bikes as we hade ridden to Sebastopol and back. Looks closed from Mendocino Avenue despite being open; oddly not a single car in the parking lot despite perhaps two dozen customers inside. Had to lock our bikes up to the railing of their ramp as they oddly don't hace any bicycle racks so the ability to secure more than 5 or so bicycles is limited. Very nice space, not loud, pleasant bar service and good beer. The very high ceilings and wide open area up front add to a feeling of spaciousness. They had a food truck parked out front but we did not try it. Definitely worth a visit. read more

Great beer and a great new location in downtown. For those who don't drink beer, they have a hard seltzer on tap that's good too. This spot is just down the way from Flagship, so it's walking distance from the mall and a lot restaurants. Not that you would need food because Galvan's has delicious birria and it's been posted there every time I have dropped by. Cooperage has a strong following, so expect the place to get busy. I love that they are a family friendly and dog friendly brewery, so if you're expecting quiet and bougie you've got the wrong spot. I'm hoping this location revitalizes the downtown area again! Cool establishment in downtown Santa Rosa. We went for the Cooper Rage and had a blast. We initially were going to hang out for an hour or two. But we ended up staying for about 8 hours. We enjoyed the drinks, food and people watching. read more

First things first. Its a taproom. The beer is great, but it ain't nothing special to look at. If you know Cooperage beer, you know it is some good beer. If you don't know Cooperage beer, stop reading this review and go get one. It is very solid beer. It is a really big space and they have done really good things with the acoustics. They have high ceilings and acoustic doohickeys hanging around, so you can hear well. My friend and I went on a busy Saturday and we were able to hear each other clearly, despite the place being full. Other plusses: They have a pool table, two dart boards and pinball (if that is your thing). The place is dog friendly. I do not care for dogs, but those present (and there were a lot) were well behaved. Minuses: None of the chairs have backs. That usually bugs me, but we were there for three hours and it did not bother me this time. The food is limited. They have a food truck and some very limited snacks. The day I went, it was Salvadorean food, which was good, but not great. The place really filled up. If I had gotten there an hour later, I would have had to stand. So, check it out, but maybe go during an off time. read more

The worst night ever the security guy was extremely rude and unprofessional about the outside drink policy. He could have handled it differently and instead he grabbed my drink out of my hand and threw it away and yelled no outside beverages aloud. I have never been treated like this over a drink. He then got in my face because I was staring at him in shock that he just did that. He comes over again and gets in my face to tell me why I was staring at him that way. At this point I'm upset the way he treated us and then Gets in my face like a big macho guy. This was our first time inside the Cooperage on Ross St, The Beer was great so was the service, we went for a special event a 90's party, we had a beer and listen to country music, I think this place would feel a bit more comfortable if they didn't overwhelm you with the crazy amount of political flags that are everywhere in this place every single planter has a political flag! The space amazing. Nice high ceilings, beautiful murals, nice layout. Darts, pool etc. The beers are always amazing, like the other location. The food pop ups today was good. Salvadoran food. The bad part is DOGS. Indoor space only and many dogs. I do think this is not legal. The are not service dogs. #1 I am allergic to, so that is hard when I sit away from one, and more come in near me. But the worse, and this is so GROSS - I saw a dog on a table. That is where we eat people !!. Unsanitary. I think the management needs to be aware if they are not service dogs etc. WONT go back for that reason. read more
