What. A. GREAT. 2nd. Location! Oh my gosh, I had NO idea what to expect when entering that unassuming building. Backing up a bit... Hubby and I were working on our FeBREWary/Beer Passport and went to Civilization Brewing. After enjoying a great beer there, they recommended we walk over to Cooperage and we didn't argue. (hehe) (We live near and walk to the original location regularly and hadn't felt the need to check out their new spot.) I noticed the food truck but no lines, didn't see any cars in the lot next door, so I assumed it was closed. BOY WAS I WRONG!! This place was so alive and vibrant and packed. I loved everything about it! The pinball machines, dart boards, TVs to catch a game, beautiful wood tables and bar, so much seating, indoor ordering window (how brilliant!! Cooperage - what a freaking smart move!), bowls of dog bones for our furry friends, and so on. The rest is our typical experience ... Enjoyed a beer. Came home with a four-pack. Now I will be torn on where to enjoy a Cooperage beer when the desire strikes.

If you are looking for a lively and invigorating tap room in the santa rosa area, this should be at the top of your list. Tried and true - Cooperage has opened up a new tap room in downtown santa rosa - and it is great! Large selection of locally brewed beers with a big enough menu to please just about everyone. They also have a tolling host of food trucks, so there is always something tasty to try! As an added bonus the space is covered inside with an incredible collection of original street art featuring several well know artists - definitely adds a lot to the ambiance! Lots of events too - trivia, live music, pool, darts, pinball, sports, etc! check it out!

I love the cool vibe and great selection of craft beer at this brewery. The shared tables are fun. The beer selection is great, try the Keg Slayer and Bow Down. They have pin ball machines, a pool table, and Food Trucks. It is a little loud, but the atmosphere is fun and it is family and dog friendly.

We were really excited to find out Cooperage was opening another location. We are a big fan of their beers and this visit didn't disappoint. I'm not sure if this will be the normal or because it was opening weekend, but it was PACKED when we arrived. We didn't have to wait too long in line for beer and the food truck line was short too. Finding a table was tricky but I was a fan of the big plant "island" with standing room around it. This was a family friendly spot and had some cool games for everyone to play.

What a fantastic spot! Every time we've visited, it's been a wonderful experience with lots of seating, super friendly bartenders, and clean restrooms. They switch up the food trucks almost daily, which gives you a chance to check out new local eateries. Galvin's is always a hit; this time they had wood-fired pizza truck, and it was delicious, with really fresh ingredients. Overall, I really appreciate how dog-friendly it is. We have a 13-month-old toddler and she absolutely loves seeing all the dogs around. This weekend, we were near a cute golden retriever who kept trying to steal her socks, and it was just the cutest thing--she loved it and was totally entertained.

Great beer and a great new location in downtown. For those who don't drink beer, they have a hard seltzer on tap that's good too. This spot is just down the way from Flagship, so it's walking distance from the mall and a lot restaurants. Not that you would need food because Galvan's has delicious birria and it's been posted there every time I have dropped by. Cooperage has a strong following, so expect the place to get busy. I love that they are a family friendly and dog friendly brewery, so if you're expecting quiet and bougie you've got the wrong spot. I'm hoping this location revitalizes the downtown area again! I'm definitely making my way back soon.

Don't come here if you are looking to have deep conversations with the people you are with. This is a loud and fun atmosphere. ALL kinds of people enjoy this place. Would definitely return.

One of the few spots that are open late- Great for a late night out! Came out with a group. Didn't want to go too crazy, so I was pleasantly relieved to see they had a seltzer flight!!

The original brew master became the co-owner when the winery left the beer business in 2003. It was then moved this location in 2004, opening as a brewpub. It's been on my list of places to visit for a while, so my wife, her mom, and I took the opportunity to stop in for a Thursday night dinner on our way to San Francisco from Fort Bragg. The inaugural double IPA (aka Imperial IPA) was made by the current co-owner at a different brewery in 1994. Double means it uses double the hops and malts, and the ABV is quite a bit higher. He then created Pliny the Elder (ABV 8.0%) in 2000, recognized as the most famous DIPA. The track continued, with Pliny the Younger in 2005, a triple IPA (using triple the hops and malts with ABV of 10.25%). This version is available once a year in the spring, since it costs so much money and time to make. With so much malt being used, a large amount of time (and hops) is needed to balance. I've had Pliny the Elder in bottles before, and really liked it: I don't like the hoppy 'piney' taste in my beers, but also recognize that not enough will make the beer too sweet (which I've been facing with a lot my island beers lately). Parking is street only, but there was a lot of it, with the metered parking only requiring payment till 6 pm. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and immediately seated at a table near the bar. As expected, it was quite loud, with after work folks having a good time. We got menus, ordered our food, and then decided what to do about flights. The brewery is also known for their Belgian style and thus offers two different flights. It was my first time, and didn't know how much my wife could help, so decided to order the California Sampler (a selection of 12 different West Coast 5 oz. pours of ales and lagers for $15.45) to start: O.V.L. Stout (Old Vic Loyals) - Irish nitro stout - really beginning to love stouts, and this one was good. Velvet Glow - lager - solid. Ending up buying 6 pack to bring home ($12.99) STS Pils - pilsner. Bought a 6-pack for $12.99. Russian River Porter - Blind Pig IPA - West Coast IPA Happy Hops - Juicy IPA Mosaic Stack - West Coast IPA SimCoe 25 - West Coast IPA Citra Flash Mob - West Coast IPA Mind Circus - Hazy IPA DDH Pliny the Elder - really good. bought two cans at $5.99 each. Pliny the Elder - the original Felt pretty good, so decided to order the Belgian Sampler (9 different for $13.63), Surprisingly, I didn't like it nearly as much (my favorite fruit beer during this trip was the Howzit Punch beer). Petite Robert - table beer Little White Lie - Belgian White Robert - saison Perdition - biere de sonoma Damnation - golden strong ale Mortification - quad Supplication - sour brown ale Intinction - barrel aged pilsner Consecration - sour dark ale In terms of the food, it was solid. The 8 pc chicken wings ($17) were good, and the cheesy garlic bread ($10) was filling. I had the meatball sandwich ($16) and upgraded the fries to a spinach salad (+$4): it was tasty, loved the toasted French bread and marinara sauce, with the meatballs being OK (tasted from frozen)...loved the spinach salad with strawberries and blue cheese. We finished off our meal with a Vinnies (co-owner) sundae: good vanilla ice cream with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and a lot of almond slivers. Payment was at the table, and me being again very pleasantly surprised at how little the flights were (a typical brewpub where they charge $3-$4 per 5 oz, would have cost 4 times as much...though of course I wouldn't have drunk as much either).

The green salad had a good variety of vegetables also. We got the jalapeño cheese pizza bites, which was good and the large pizza I don't recall what the name of it was, but it was also fairly good The service was a little bit slow. They were quite busy, but it took us over an hour and a half to get our table. While we were waiting my friend and I had to flag down the staff so that we could get a beer while we waited. The room was quite noisy, but the table was comfortable

There is a fun patio space with lots of tables and shade out front and plenty of bar seating with space for bar games inside. I ordered some happy hour bites and the Mexican lager. I sipped on the beer, which was pretty good. It took awhile for our food to come. When our tater tots and pretzel arrived they looked good, but after first tastes, it was clear that they were just frozen and reheated items. The pretzel was overly tough and chewy. The nacho cheese certainly came from a can. The tater tots were fine, but probably from a frozen bag and thrown in the fryer. As a brewery, I'd give this place 4 stars. My friend, whom I homebrewed with for years, already knew about Iron Ox Brewing Company. He thought I'd like it. He was right. Filling the middle slot of a building in a typical for craft breweries industrial area, the taproom immediately inside the front door is fairly roomy. All concrete, iron, & weathered wood, there's something of a southwest or even old west feel to the place. Service was welcoming & conversational. We got right to it with some taster flights. Most of the about a dozen beers on tap were IPA's or lagers. Which was fine since those often my go-to styles. After tasting a good number of those here, I noticed something interesting. IPA's have evolved substantially over the years. From once being mostly malty & bitter to now being mainly light & aromatic. Iron Ox has blended the old with the new in a unique way I liked a lot.
