I visited this location in March 2021 & June 2021& where I purchased prepaid 90 day wash plans and paid cash. I went again October 2021 to renew my plan and discovered they no longer accept cash for prepaid plans but do continue to accept it for all other self service offerings. This makes no sense whatsoever other than some attempt to get customers on a monthly automated credit card billing plan. I've contacted several other local washes and discovered credit & credit card only is NOT their policy. Even gym memberships now accept cash after many disputed credit card billing errors. After contacting Flagstop, I'm told they are recently under new ownership, a holdings company called RVA Wash Holdings & that this credit card only poilcy is driven by concern for employee safety and security. yea, right.. Now, clearly all customers purchasing prepaid plans will not be paying cash anyway but I fail to see any reasoning as to why prepaid wash plan cash is more dangerous than other cash collected from their service bays. I have my truck cleaned every two weeks but last month we moved and I was unable to do so. My husband is returning from an assignment so I took the truck to Flagstop for detailing. I asked for the deepest cleaning inside and out and added on interior shine and detail for 15.00$ bringing my total with tip to 70.00$. After viewing the finished product I noticed significant amounts of grime still in the cup holders and grooves, scuff marks not wiped on dash and seats, milk residue from a bottle on the back of the seats, dirt in creases of carpet,dirty door jams, all of which I ended up taking out my armor all an cleaning myself. This car wash is ok for a quick outside job, but if you are looking for a deep clean interior I would look elsewhere. The staff was friendly. read more

It's a cold day and my car was really dirty from snow, mud and salt...I Was greeted by Padraic when I drove up for the car wash and decided to get the full complete wash. I watched as the car went through the wash and was truly amazed by Kris as he singlehandedly wiped my entire car/tires down and cleaned out the inside of my car. I asked if he shared tips and he said yes it's policy. Not only was he hardworking and loyal to his job he is honest! Stopped by for a car wash. Told me their Internet was down and my only option was to pay in cash. I had $15 cash for a $16.99 wash. They turned me away and said they were sorry they couldn't clean my car. Unbelievable lack of business sense. Really good location, excellent product but extremely poor customer service and business strategies. I could not believe it. Just plain business 'stupid ' - I guess they would rather have their work staff stand around idol, and their car wash machines sit empty, than to make a profit, save money on the visa transaction fees, and most importantly, provide excellent customer service. The profit margin's in an automated carwash are incredible. What a missed opportunity today to 'hustle', think outside the box, and look for opportunities to WOW your customer. read more

I do not often go to the carwash. Unfortunately on this occasion the automated car wash malfunctioned resulting in very minor damage to my vehicle. I was very impressed with how the staff, especially one of the managers, Chris B. handled the situation. Staff was apologetic and immediately acted. Chris, offsite and not on duty, drove to the carwash to assess and proactively work with me on resolution. Chris followed up with both me and my insurance company over a period of weeks to insure that things were progressing as they should. While dealing with my insurance claim over a $10 car wash was probably not the highest priority of this business, Chris was attentive and super positive through the entire experience. I see some complaints that speak negatively but the reality is that your paying for a car wash and vacuum NOT a full detail service. I went to the Ironbridge location today for a buff wax and was very disappointed. Very sloppy work inside and out. They talked me into spending another 8.00 for outside trim wipe down and with the 60.00 for the original service this is $68.00 I will never see again however, they will never see me again. Today Dylon, who is the manager, noticed my car had some clear tree sap on the hood. He went totally out of the expected and spent almost 20 minutes personally removing it. I've been a Flagstop customer since I was able to drive many moons ago. Until this COVID thing is gone I doubt I will be back. I went there and was delightfully surprised at how efficiently and quickly I got through one of the 3 drive through lanes to enter the wash bay. I didn't have ti get out of the car and that made it fun for my 4 year old and me. When we finished the car wash, there were no employees to wipe off the excess water. I get it...COVID but I don't understand why you can't have one masked employee on each side of your vehicle wiping down the sides of your car. Then we pull into one of the many vacuum bays and park the car. The rest was up to me to get my SUV cleaned. The towels weren't even at the bay. I had to walk back to the beginning of the entrance to get clean towels. Why can't there be a place in the bay for clean towels to use instead of just having 2 bins for dirty towels? As I wiped off the residual water, I noticed everywhere the "rolling towel" thing touched it left a dirty residue on the surface. This rolling towel thing was at the end of the car wash and was wiping the front, top, and rear of the car. All things being equal, they need to take that thing down and just let the air dryer go longer. Vacuums were convenient but it was up to me to do it. I then took my mats to get cleaned which I thought was awesome that they had a mat cleaner. Unfortunately, the mat cleaner was at the entrance where the towels were. Just feed it in the slot and it comes out of the bottom all clean. Nope. Made for carpeted mats only. The friendly attendant recommended I just spray the glass cleaner and then wipe them off with the towels after I scrub them with the brush. Ugh. I take the long walk back to my car, replace the mats and am finally done. I do realize that my usual proce of $29.99 for the wash I usually get had been reduced to $18 but I still don't feel it is a better service or value. The price should be even cheaper since the customers are expected to do the hard stuff. But hey, I did get a free air freshener. I will be looking at other car wash options. read more

The prices are more reasonable than what you will find at Car Pool..beware of add-ons like tire wet upping the total. The staff is extremely friendly. Lady inside was very friendly and explained the services and how everything works. This is my first time so I was thankful for that. The prices were very reasonable and I later found out why. I got the interior package where they clean out all the crevices, cup holders, dash, windows, and vacuum up everything and then wash the exterior and windows. We sat outside waiting for it to be completed, it took about 30 mins and while waiting we watched their process. 25 mins consisted of most employees stopping their jobs to stand around and chat and about 5 mins of actual cleaning. These are all really young teens so I let it slide , it's a summer job ya know. They have me check my car when it's done and they vacuumed the bottom by the feet well but the seats had more dirt on them then when I dropped them off. I asked for the seats to be vacuumed , which the kid did. I found a lot more dirt on another seat and a whole area that hadnt even been touched with a vacuum which was obvious yet neglected, I asked for that as well, he rolled his eyes and said fine and cleaned them. I was going to tip but after seeing this kind of disrespect and the piss poor job that was done I was over it and just wanted to leave. Once I drove off I see my center console is filthy and wasn't even touched , I cleaned it out when I got home. Don't waste your time or money on a cleaning that you have to go behind to do anyways. I have used this location from time to time and I can say they are better than the Colonial Heights location, but still not great. For $25 I expect a better job. Every time I have to grab the towel and finish up the job. I had bugs still on my front bumper and spots from tree flowers that I also had to get off my roof and hood. Also noticed after the fact that no one cleaned the rear inside window. Although my car is a 2 door and not easy to get back there, this is why I pay these people to do my car. I would use them more if they gave me my moneys worth. read more

Visited for the first time today. First impressions are everything. I paid $35 for a full service wash. The description indicates that it covers an interior cleaning and exterior with all the bells and whistles. I get to my car to find the interior was hardly touched. The vacuum job was spotty, my dash board hadn't been wiped, door jams still dirty, my kid's fingerprints still on the back passenger side window, back window not cleaned at all. I alerted a manager who told me the kid working on my car was new & he proceeded to check behind him. The manager only fixed the carpet (I guess he's use to not cleaning the inside too). I even asked to use the vacuum to do it myself after noticing that they hadn't vacuumed under the seat. This is not what I expected for a $35 wash and the kicker, I waited an entire hour from start to finish. I'll stick to drive through washes where I can do it myself. Ridiculous! Hadn't had my car interior detailed in years. Drinks and food have been spilled in there as well as some mystery items that have created stains and smells that come to light when it gets hot. So it was a disaster to say the least. The staff at Flagstop were extremely nice and very helpful. Scheduling and drop off were super easy. The price was great for the service that I received. Casey and Michael worked on my car for hours and did an oustanding job. The car was cleaned and more importantly smelled 100% better. I appreciate the time they took and the thorough job that they did on shampooing. They kept at it until it wiped clean and there was no evidence of dirt. It has been a few years since stopping by FlagStop in Chester(Ironbridge) I use to go so much people knew me when I walked in. Service was great an car always look good for the money. When Petersburg opened I gave them a try a few times an still went to Chester because they were the best. Stopped by Friday after Thanksgiving to have truck washed.. Vacuums not working no big deal inside wasn't that bad.. But outside was a little dirty with little mud. I paid 18.99 plus tip an walked away with dirt still on car no windows cleaned nothing more than run through wash an whip the water off.. This was the worst wash I have ever for the price. FlagStop you can do better. People are detailing cars today for 35 an they look new.. You are bottom of the pole when it comes to washing cars today when you were once top of the market. read more

When I spoke with the manager she said they used to take the antennas off but found they broke more that way. No, seriously, that is what she said. She also said they are NOT responsible. I started going to this location after the location closer to Fort Lee was damaging my power mirrors as they had usually done a decent job. I had gone there a few times a month with mediocre results, but was ok for when I was too busy to do the weekly cleaning I like to do. The last time I went, the doors had not been done and the dashboard was dusty. Today, after purchasing the Complete Package which includes the exterior and interior, there were multiple noticeable areas on the exterior trim, handles, and back window that had to be pointed out. The kid working seemed like he did not know how to resolve the issue, so I asked for the towel and finished the work for him. When I open the driver door, the door cup holders hadn't been vacuumed, the center console had only been puddled with a cleaner, the dash looked worse than when I had taken it. I asked if he had an interior rag I could use real fast and he said they just use the same towel they wipe down the outside; awesome. I asked what cleaner he used, he said window cleaner; awesome. When you spend $60k on a truck you don't want an exterior rag being used to wipe down leather wrapped dash and door trim with Windex. I paid full price and left so I could go home and finish the job as I was too irritated to continue dealing with a kid staring blankly at me. Now I will not try anymore Flag stop locations as they seem to not have quality standards, proper supervision of kids, or correct automotive cleaning methodologies.
