There is something about car washes that take me back to when I was 5 years old. I remember my grandfather used to go every Sunday to the local wash and I used to go with him. Being in the car, riding through that tunnel as a little girl just gave me such a thrill. Flagstop is your pretty basic car wash. You pull in, pick your wash, pay and pull up to ride though. It does the job, but it's nothing fancy. I've never had any issues with damage to my car. If you are a stickler for water drops your probably better off going to Car Pool instead where they finish drying the cars by hand. Flagstop also has vacums for after if you want to stop and do that yourself. The staff working here are really only there to wave you onto the car wash belt and maintain that part of the business. I wouldn't go here expecting any kind of unique experience but if you want your car washed and don't have a lot of time, Flagstop gets the job done. read more

This is actually a good value for the money, and it's self-service so there's no waiting until a team is available to clean your car or any of that nonsense. You drive up, choose your wash type from a menu (reminds me of drive-thru ordering actually) and then you drive through the car wash. When you are done, you can use the vacuums to clean the inside of your car... I hate to drag the hose out, get the bucket, etc. etc. so I usually go here to get my car washed. Just came back again and the service was even better than last time. A slight malfunction on the gate was immediately remedied by Gavin. He even came over to introduce himself again since I hadn't had the chance to stop by in a while. They see hundreds of customers a day but still make you feel like you're their most important one. Without A doubt the best customer service I've ever received! Gavin and Curtis were so much help! They noticed that the car wash had missed a few spots and allowed me to go through again at no charge. They were friendly and helpful and proactive with satisfying my needs. I had been going to the Staple Mill location and was very happy with the customer service as well as the unlimited washes. The location wasn't that convenient for me, but still made the detour to get the salty river water off after each weekend. Now that the Chamberlain location is open, I go there. The addition of the blue towels is a nice touch to dry the mirrors and under the spoiler on the back window of my SUV. I like that they are a little damp so I can wipe off the inside windshield and then use it on the front bumper, as I get a lot of bugs caked on it. They usually need a little extra pressure to get off. read more

This car wash is fantastic! I have been here a few times and have no complaints. The wash is automatic, and with Yelp check in, you get a discount! There are a few employees there who are more than happy to help navigate the payment machine, assist with using the free vacuums/rug cleaners, and even have towels/rags to dry off any leftover water from the wash. The grounds are immaculate and the staff is always friendly! I hate to pay a fortune to have my car cleaned. I much prefer to clean it myself, especially after driving the dogs to the park! It is so nice to have a self-serve carwash with unlimited use of the vacuums (I cleaned my car once for two hours)! I have never seen trash anywhere but in the bins and the employees regularly empty them. Great value, great people, thumbs up! read more

I go to this car wash every once in a while. When I go the machine never clean the bird and tuff dirt but i don't really care if my car is spotless so I just wipe it down by hand after. After a couple times going I noticed my car had scratches but wasn't 100% sure it was from the car wash. I go in today to get a wash and come out and my car has a lot more of the same scratches. I let the attendant know and he says he's going to let his manager know. The manager comes out I show him the scratches but he does not pay attention. He then goes to a part of my car that I was side swiped (that has nothing to do with the scratches) and say I can't do anything for you because your car already has damage. read more

USED to be a great place to get a GOOD wash...by hand. Now, be it for COVID reasons or just plain cheap, the $18 wash does not get your car totally clean. Not only that, drying, vacuuming, etc., are all self-service now. For $18? Never again. I will travel to the other place on Hull Street that still gives a full service wash by hand. read more

Long story short. Got a new paint job on my car. First time I washed it was in there wash. Ended up with scratches all over my trunk! Was told nothing they could do because of age and mileage of the car despite showing them that paint job was less than a month old. Called "corporate" and have emailed and left messages but received no response! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! UPDATE: While it is true that someone finally emailed me back, the email was nothing more than another person calling me a liar, just like the on site "management" did! My car is being repainted by the body shop anyway because of issues in the original job (basic stuff like overspray) so it's not even like I'm trying to get money from these clowns. I simply wanted to let them know that they had a problem somewhere. But of course all they want to do is not listen and try to avoid liability by insisting that I'm making the whole thing up! Happy more than ever to be done with this place and happily taking my business else where! read more

I moved here from Jersey about a year ago and the car washes are completely different up there. They're mostly full service and the tunnels are twice as long. I know Carpool does full service washes, but in my opinion, for a Virginia car wash, Flagstop is the best in the area. With that said, it's probably worth 4 stars, but compared to what I'm used to, I can only give it 3. And that's with me being generous. The only good thing I can say is that this location is relatively new and the price for the best wash is great. However, with the best wash that includes wax and all that other bs, my car never feels smooth, nor does it look any shinier after coming out the wash. I also dislike that they don't have a wheel cleaner option in the wash, since the wheels are usually the dirtiest and most neglected part of the car. The blow dry at the end is horrible, as you always need to hand dry your car afterwards... Otherwise you'll have drip marks all over your car after you start driving. Speaking of drying your car off or doing any other detailing, good luck on finding a spot to do that because most people take up 2 spots when they work on their car. For you Virginia natives, none of those problems may matter to you but for someone that's only been to full service car washes and never had to deal with problems like that, it's a huge inconvenience. read more

Got the 15 dollar wash. It did get rid of the road salt but like some of the other reviews I was unimpressed. Left spots on my doors and soap on my hood. The soap dispensing was pretty cool and I did enjoy the way they used light to make the soap look like it was glowing. I'm sure the normal wash would be a decent deal but the 15$ wash definitely wasn't worth it. For the price and the line I might as well support kids washing cars as fundraisers. read more

i got to use the yelp deal so i got the car washed for 3 bucks, holy schnikes! incredible value for the money. it didnt get all the bird poop off a 100% but hey, for that price, im fine with it! and the vacuums are very powerful with long cords . they even have machines to clean the carpet mats. great experience! read more

Overall: 3.5 Good: facilities clean, quick service, Free Vacuums!! Free Cloth mat cleaner. Bad: No rubber mat cleaning available, not even a bucket and sponge. So I have a clean car, with dirty floor mats. This is an obvious oversight. Also, this is subjective, but wash went quick, I paid for the $10 wash and it was done so fast I couldn't really tell if I got what I paid for. Will have to try the $5 and see if I notice a difference. (looking back Timmy T noted something similar) Overall value: good. I have visit this FlagStop multiple times and I can say that two times I've had great/excellent services. Today on this cold Sunday the services by GAVIN was definitely over the top. I had an issue with my account in which was set up on the 20th for unlimited washes for a month and it would not allow me to look l pull through like normally. He didn't give me a number like before to call Diane to figure out the issue he search the computer until he found the issue and then corrected the issue himself. I also explained that certain parts of my car never get clean and gave me tips. As I thanked him for his excellent customer service over and over. I must share with others how important it is when u work in the customer service field how important it is to give good to excellent customer service to all customers no matter how you feel or what's going on. It blesses the customer and the company. So I had to give honor to whom honor is due not just to him but publicly as well. Keep up the excellent work GAVIN. I definitely appreciate ur service today. Okay, so let me paint a picture for you. I've never been to this place before, only been to car washes that you literally just drive through. There's a state cop about a car length ahead of me in line. The short white kid with shaggy brown hair and a bunch of tattoos that is manning the actual wash motions for me to pull forward and says nothing so I pull into the little conveyer thing and hit the brakes. I'm within 3 feet of a state police car and I'm not trying to have that particular ticket. The kid starts yelling at me and I can't hear him so I put my drivers side window down. Instead of calmly saying "hey throw it in neutral" he just keeps shouting "LET OFF THE BRAKES MAN" as I'm trying to tell him "hey uhhh I'm still in drive and there's a cop a few feet in front of me." This goes on for about 15 seconds until I unceremoniously get showered by foam and water through my driver's side window and hastily roll it up as he finally says "PUT IT IN NEUTRAL". Now don't get me wrong, I didn't tell him "hey be gentle man this is my first time" or give him any indication I had no idea what I was doing, but this guy literally said no words to me and just kind of assumed I would know exactly what to do given this situation. Which is fine. Until you meet a clueless first timer like myself. Everything else was totally fine about the experience. The attendants in the parking lot were super nice and the amenities with the vacuums and the floor mat cleaner were very sweet. Also, my car is sparkling clean. But so is my flannel and the driver's side interior of my car. So in short, I understand your pain dude, you are like 23 and work at a car wash. That's probably not the most particularly interesting and fulfilling job out there. I don't even want you to get fired or get reprimanded in any way because you could have just had a bad day. I don't want anything free because realistically this has showed me that I belong in a much simpler car wash situation with less moving parts. Just like... you're in a customer service position. Make sure you cater to your customers and make sure they know what they're doing. And saying hi wouldn't hurt either. read more
