I went to Flaman on Yellowhead trail looking to order a part for my 1090 dumbell. To order the part I needed, I brought in the handle with the weight stuck to it and set in on the counter. Roman looked at the handle and weight. In two seconds he had the weight unstuck from the handle. he tested the handle on a set they had. It worked! Service tech very quick and helpful. Service department was fast (when I finally got ahold of them) with setting up my appointment. Reception was horrible to talk to. I felt like I was interrupting her day by calling. Seriously felt like finding another equipment tech cause I didn't want to call for the third time to try and talk to someone to book an appointment. read more

Yes....I am giving Flamans a 2....in reality I would be willing to give it a 2.5, but I cannot. After a little over 10 years, upgrading (at a considerable cost each time) to 2 treadmills and we WOULD have considered a 3rd, I am sorry to say I have cut my relationship with this store and its lackluster customer service of late. We were on our third treadmill when the safety key started giving us problems. Mind you, in Summer 2014, I replaced a belt on it and the treadmill was FINE. The tech who serviced the treadmill didn't mention anything about the motor being on its way out or anything to that ilk. Fast forward to about a month ago when the safety key starts acting up and my companion chose to call Flaman to come out and see what is going on with it since our usual way of dealing with it (using CLR to clean it when it gets rusty from the sweat in order to have it in working order) hadn't been working. My companion had USED the treadmill an HOUR before the tech showed up (which means EVERYTHING was working fine....no error messages or anything) and, seriously, in less than an hour that the tech is at our place to take care of one thing, he manages to create a situation that takes out the motor :-/ Of course, the fact that we use it, YES, we actually USE IT means that there is typical wear and tear. Upon being asked by the tech if we lubricate it regularly, my companion says we "never" have--not true, because I do knowing he doesn't (mind you, I don't do it once a week, but at least 2x a year since that is what we were told when we bought it). So, with this information, along with the tech telling us we can get a "cheaper" one from Canadian Tire (he has one), he leaves and suggests we contact the store to see what we want to do. We went in on Saturday of this week to talk with a manager or someone in charge (note: on Saturdays managers don't work at this location). We were given a card of a "new" manager since the last one we met and off we were home to write an email. My companion wrote the email and got a response back from the manager telling us: 1) he would give us a credit of 250$ and 2) we couldn't use the credit for anything under a certain amount (again, the tech indicated that the store had a couple of good ones, one for 1200 specifically--this is when he told us about Canadian Tire); and 3) we could replace the whole motor for $500. My companion actually went for the motor replacement and wrote the manager back....this was about a week ago. The manager at Flamans hasn't bothered to respond. My guess? He was hoping we would opt for a new treadmill (and spending another $2000 at least [like we have in the past]) and isn't responding to our idea and his offer to replace the motor. Afterall, it would cost more to have the tech come out and install it than the motor itself.....then WHY MAKE SUCH AN OFFER??? With this having taken place, we have moved on to another local company and bought another treadmill. We spent a bit over $2000 and we can pay it off in a year with no interest :-). It is worth saying that our treadmill is used 4-5 times a week by both of us and we log at least 45-50 miles a week between fast walking and running, combined. So, yes, we DO use it and of course we expect (and have experienced) that the treadmill will "go", but on the other hand, after having been a customer for a bit over 10 YEARS....I expected a little more than NOT responding to an email and offer that was made in what we thought good faith. read more

Went to Flaman to look at an elliptical machine for the new year. Our sales guy Gem was amazing and got us a sweet deal on a machine that was originally way outside of our price range. They also went above and beyond and got our delivery bumped from Jan 2 upto Christmas eve. The delivery guys called before they got here, were on time and professional. This was one of the best sales experiences I have ever had, now it's upto me to actually use the thing. read more

I would NOT recommend purchasing ANY item from ANY Flamans!!! I purchased a treadmill (free motion) from here, and have had nothing but issues!!! Their service tech have been inconsistent and took MONTHS to fix!!! Currently, I having the same issue only few months later after them "fixing it" they tried to say they wouldn't cover it under warranty, but after getting upset they agreed to do so. However, they have been inconsistent with placing orders for parts, unknown time frame, and just notified me that the part would not be in till NOVEMBER!!! (The part was ordered in June!!!!!!!) You spend good money on "good quality" treadmills to be treated like you spend 300$ on a treadmill not over $1000. Ridiculous!!!! Buyers beware!!!!! read more

I have two machines that I've purchased from Flaman over the last couple of years. I have an elliptical and an Ab Coaster. I bought the elliptical in 2012 (it was a 2010 model) for about $900. I bought the extended warranty which covered me for five years. I can't remember how much I paid for the extended warranty but I don't recall it being an exorbitant amount. Two years into owning my elliptical, the resistance on it stopped working twice within a six-month period. The first time the tech came out and fixed it at no charge because of my warranty. The second time when he came out he said the motor had gone and because the machine was old they didn't make parts for that machine anymore. I was really anxious to see how they were going to help me with this situation, as I still had a good three years left on my warranty. The same day, I got a call from the sales manager saying that they were going to be replacing my old elliptical with a brand-new one. While that was obviously the right thing to do, I was very impressed with the way they handled the situation. They immediately offered to replace my elliptical with a new one without trying to be sneaky and only offer me some money back to cover what I had paid for the extended warranty or something like that. I just had my brand-new elliptical dropped off this morning and between the sales staff, the delivery people and the repair people I couldn't of asked for a more painless/pleasant experience. The only reason why I haven't given them a completely perfect review, is I don't understand how a machine that was made in 2010 already is completely outdated as far as parts go. It's made me a little bit wary of buying expensive machines from them in the future as I am not sure how long I would be able to keep the machine working for. read more

I've slowly started to build my dumbbell collection as well as adding in a few bands to round out the resistance selection at home. I was dealing with Ryan and found that he was very easy to talk to. We talked about a few options for both dumbbells and resistance bands, once I picked out the ones I thought I wanted I was able to take them home and try them out, which was great because you never know if you'll like the feel. I thought this was great. Once I picked out the ones I wanted, Ryan was very helpful at getting everything set up and settled. Looking forward to going back in the future for more equipment as my needs increase. Thanks Ryan for your help...you made shopping at Flaman a lot less intimidating! read more
