The aspect of the chicken skin was off putting. It was rubbery and even unpleasant. A crisper or even more cooked skin would add to the wings. They rated a low 3. I will not order them again. It was my very first time trying Flame Broiler and let me just say that I cant believe I waited so long to try it! I came in to place my order for take out and I was assisted by a very nice gentleman named Chase! He was so friendly and professional and super knowleageable, I got there during peak hour, there was 3 people ahead of me and after I was done, The rush came in. As a customer service person myself, I got super anxious for him because he was the only one in the register and he took care of everyone in a friendly manner, he was so calm, not once did he get overwhelmed and I was so amazed to see him handling business so well! This right here will make me go back to this location forever! Now The food was DELICIOUS! I got the spicy korean chicken plate and my sister got the half and half plate with chicken and beef and it was so tendef and flavorful! Please get the jalapeno sauce, but know that its SPICY but its very delicious!! The place is very small, but they have lots of seating available! It seems like people just come in to order out, I Did not see anybody eating there! My only compaint would be that the phone was not working and I could not put my order in over the phone, neither do they have mobile ordering available, which would be super cool if they were able to add that feature for convenience! I ordered a mini bowl with white meat and broccoli only. This is how much water was in the bowl! Every bite of my broccoli was filled with so much water as if it was a soup. I can't explain how disappointed I am. I ordered fresh vegetables and chicken and I understand that when we steam vegetables there can be some leftover water but not to this extent .. this is a Poor excuse of a bowl. Some BS. The food was decent, but the prices are completely out of line. $15.14 for a beef plate with rice and veggies. Add on $3.05 for half an avocado. For 2 people and a 15% tip the total was over $60! Also; they have removed all condiments so you now have to ask for them and anticipate how much you need. Even have to request them to unlock the restroom if you need to use it. Fast food in California is no longer fast or cheap. Sit-down restaurant here we come. There is no difference in price anymore. The help was cheerful. The service was not there. We come here a couple times a month and yesterday I ordered a white meat chicken bowl. Got home and big hunks of chicken not cut up in little chunks like usual. A few pieces were not cooked all the way through and the chicken was tough. Ended up throwing the meat away and eating the rice and vegies. I never heard of The Flame Broiler, only seen the signs as I drove along Bear Valley Road, so on this day of immediate hunger I wanted something different...fresh. Healthy. I stumbled upon this lovely place. Located across the parking lot of 'Best Buy' and 'Bed, Bath, and Beyond' I walked into this joint and saw a menu of pictures, a good way to entice the tongue's palette of someone hungry. I was greeted by a happy lady, informed me of the fresh ingredients and the 2-day marination of their thinly sliced meet. I ate at places like this before, but this place is pretty good. I ordered "the works" plate because my ass was hungry. Thin sliced meat, cut chicken breast (not too dry, and full of flavor), and fresh steamed vegetables (not soggy or dampened by water) served over a bed of brown rice (brown rice is optional). Add a side of shredded cabbage with a sesame dressing salad and a wedge of orange and you have yourself a delicious, simple, meal. Adding the special sauce does make a difference, and the red sauce is a little too spicy for me, but if you like a kick, add it. Oh, and if you feel a bit adventurous, there are meals off the menu. It's a good place for a fulfilling, and light, meal. If I stumble upon The Flame Broiler in the OC, I am going to expect the same amount of deliciousness, if not better. read more

I really thought this would be a place that I would like. I ordered a salad with tofu and they brought be a HUGE bowl of raw cabbage! Seriously, who can eat more than a pound of just RAW cabbage, my stomach was tearing up just thinking about it. The tofu had no sauce or seasoning, it was like eating rubber cubes. I brought it back and just got my money back since it was so horrendous, I was over lunch. My husband had the chicken bowl with rice and said it was fine. That was the $5 lunch special, usually it will run you about $8 for a tiny bowl. I'm all for healthy but this was complete crap! read more

This flame broiler kinda sucks compared to the others around the area. The prices are higher for the same thing and you get less. The person taking orders also hands out the food. Mine sat on the shelf between that person and the kitchen for 20m before the employee realized and turned around to start handing out people's orders. One customer could not makeup his mind so instead of asking him to hold that thought and dol out food the employee stood there waiting on him while those of us that already ordered stood there watching our food get cold. Some of us only get a 30m lunch and waiting 20m to be handled you're food when it has been sitting on the shelf 20m is not how customers should be treated. read more

The food and menu reminds you of an American version of a Chinese restaurant without the fat and MSG. The food was great and the magic and hot sauce added great flavor. The meat tastes fresh and leaves you wanting more. You have your choice of a plate or bowl, with the meats of your choice over brown or white rice with some cabbage and veggies. The plates include cole slaw and a fresh cut orange half. If you want to eat healthy and still have a ton of food pick up some Flame Broiler now. I love Flame Broiler but it's going down hill. The service at this location is always on par which is why I'm giving the two stars. However Flame Broiler has recently changed the containers. Now they skimp on the portions when before it would always be the same and filled to the top. Mind you I know the new containers are bigger then the old the serving sizes vary dramatically. I've had this issue before with the new bowls and was just told that's how they come. Sad to say I know it's now less food then before. It's now a high price for these small servings and slowly becoming not worth it. Why change the bowls and not still fill them to the top? Mind you the food is still amazing but this new issue needs to be addressed. I wait for the day this happens again or my trips will become fewer down the road and will start going to competitors like Waba Grill instead. read more
