Pretty good. Tastes similar to the beef and chicken dish at Ono's Hawaiian Barbeque across the street, but Flame Broiler's food is much less greasy, healthier, and tastes better too! I'm not sure how healthy it actually is, but it does seem healthier than fried and processed foods. Chicken was good! But the veggies were indeed almost all cabbage... there wasn't any broccoli in my dish... the "orange-y" dressing was yummy though. read more

I ate here last night hoping that they would have a healthy option. I got the plate special which was a mix of angus beef, chicken and a few ribs. I had the brown rice and veggies with some green onions on top. This is enough food for 2 people. I am watching my calories, salt and sugar and while this is higher than a salad it may be the healthiest cooked meal you can get in the high desert. The sauces have a lot of salt so I avoided them but really there is so much flavor in their food it was nice to just enjoy the food without additional seasoning. The girl behind the counter was polite and very helpful, the food didn't take long to get and the price was very reasonable. I had my order to go but their dining area looked adequate. I have only been in this area for 4 days now and this is the first healthy hot meal I have had. read more

One of our favorite spots as we try to stop here at least once a week to enjoy a half and half bowl with white rice and green onions! Ask for white meat if you prefer it (chicken). The place is always clean, food is always good and freshly cooked with high quality meats! Definitely one of the best chicken/beef bowls in the area with fast and friendly service. Nothing special. All the sauces are way too sweet for my taste. There's no way this is healthy; it's drowning in sugar. And probably not even real sugar but what the Boondocks refers to as "the white man's poison" (high fructose corn syrup). Just another fast food chain pretending to be healthy. read more

I really enjoy The Flame Broiler and it shows that most of the High Desert does as well. It is always very crowded if I go at standard meal times. Mostly because it's near the 24 Hour Fitness and businesses. I noticed many of those employees eat their lunch here. There are many options available here. My favorite is the works bowl with no rice or sometimes easy rice and white meat chicken. We don't eat here often because it can get pricey for a family but you certainly get what you pay for! read more

The only face to face interaction I had was with Kevin. While I waited for my food I watched several interactions with customers. He greeted each person, smiled, asked them how their day was, got the orders right, and stayed busy wiping and cleaning between customers. You could tell this was just him being a genuine person and it was not forced. This young man is a prime example of a stellar employ and new employees should watch and learn. Props to the cooktop! I been wanting to try what they have on the menu. I came here one evening last week for the first time. I was expecting more like a "Yoshinoya", it was not. I had the regular bowl, half & half with brown rice. The other orders were beef and chicken bowl with white rice. Food was okay. The chicken and beef were dry. Love this place. Especially the fact That they have a tofu bowl. Being a vegetarian, my menu options can be limited many times. They blame the tofu bowls here to order so I know the food is fresh. Years ago, I had both the beef and chicken bowls which are tasty as well. Add in the fresh vegetables that come with each bowl, and you have a tasty, healthy meal and a very reasonable price. Great staff. Excellent service. I order pickup for luncheons I do with my customers for a healthy alternative to all the other greasy chain restaurants that crowd the High Desert. The owner is very friendly and the manager Emily is always on top of things. I always look forward to coming into Flame Broiler. I went to a Flame Broiler in Brea and YUM! My bf got the beef bowl and the beef was so tasty and flavorful. I got a chicken mini bowl which was full of delicious veggies, and a little brown rice just like I asked for. It was my first experience at a Flame Broiler, and I was looking up how to choose a wok to cook at home online. Well, the Flame Broiler in AV was a HUGE disappointment. The meat was NOT tasty, I asked for a little brown rice, and the bowl was MOSTLY brown rice. I will not go back. As a matter of fact, if I go to a Flame Broiler besides the one in Brea, I will ask to taste a sample of their meat, and thoroughly inspect my bowl before I leave. read more

I used to come here often but this time will be the last. I give two stars because the people taking orders are always very nice and helpful. Food comes out relatively fast. But it's not good. I ordered a salad and it's a huge bowl of raw cabbage. No lettuce whatsoever. Raw cabbage and your choice of meat with a sweet dressing. Not good at all. My husband got a beef bowl and the meat is chewy and the rice is kinda gummy. We spent over 20$ for food we didn't eat and no drinks. If I hadnt taken it to go I would have returned it. We decided to have flame broiler for dinner tonight so we got three Angus beef plates with their steemed vegetables to go. Came out to 30 something dollars. We take the food home and start to eat and right away we notice that this isn't the meat we ate before. This tasted like it was round steak cut into big chunky pieces. So we stopped eating immediately. The meat was dry, chewy, flavorless, the rice was soggy and the vegetables tasted old. Over all the dinner was a complete sham and because it was over 30 dollars i thought I'd call and tell them. Well here's the problem. They wanted us to bring the dinner back but we don't have time to bring it back, we're going out of town. They told me they could replace it but I couldn't have my money back. And if I came another day I would get 20% off. Regardless I'm going to take it back because I have all three of the meals which nobody in my family wanted to eat. I want them to see the crap they tried to feed us. So my message here is to beware if youre ordering take out from them because it's not the same as dining in.
