This was a return trip to try the chicken again. The fried chicken was seasoned and crispy like the last time. I feel the fried is actually better when compared to the roasted version. The spicing seems more balanced. This time I ordered the Four Piece Special with a dinner roll, coleslaw, and plantains along with a Three Piece Special of chicken only. The coleslaw was delicious and made with healthy apple cider vinegar which gave it a good tangy flavor. The vinegar also made the coleslaw lighter in mouthfeel so that was a plus. Plantains were very good, as usual. I still think that this is their best side. Yuca fries were several minutes out of the fryer, getting cold, and were chewy. I probably won't order again unless they were freshly made. Dinner roll is the same as those that come in a box ready to be warmed in an oven, soft and pillowy. I ordered a chicken empanada this time to try. It tasted good but the filling really wasn't anything special, just bits of chicken, corn, and cheese. The exterior pastry was flaky enough, though. This time I received two containers of their signature sauce to accompany the fried chicken. It had a good flavor and is very similar to the chicken sauces served at other places only slightly zestier and spicier. Pollo Campero is a good change from the usual fried chicken. First Pollo Campero location in Victorville! Happy to have them join us in the high desert. They were getting ready to close soon for the evening. My eldest daughter and I quickly went through the drive-thru. Drive-thru staff was okay. We ordered two $10 meals each came with 3 pieces of fried chicken, regular fries, and drink plus an order of family size yucca fries. It would have been nice if we could have substituted the regular fries with yucca fries. Oh well. Fried chicken batter was a tad salty IMHO. Outside skin was overly fried. Chicken meat was moist though. Drumstick was on the smaller side. Thigh size was decent. Fries were good. Yucca fries were great. Mango and Jamaica agua frescas were delightful. Would we be back? I was excited to try this place due to finding out it originated in Guatemala. I stopped by last night and was very much underwhelmed. The empanadas were disgusting and tasted like a horrific chicken pot pie. I do not understand why they place their fries in the container they come in because it makes the fries extremely soggy. The chicken was actually good but I will say if you have high blood pressure, avoid. It's extremely salty and can be overwhelming if you're not an individual who enjoys salty food. Lastly, the horchata. I am so confused as to how anyone could think that was okay to serve? Tasted like Cinnamon Toast Crunch that had been soaked in water for many days. Yuck! Today the person that took our order didn't care about our complaints, she literally pretended not to hear us. We wanted to get larger pieces of chicken and said we were willing to pay extra but we were told that was not an option. Every time we get the chicken mix we get microscopic meatless wings. We already pay more here than pollo loco and pollo loco gives tortillas and delicious salsas. Also every time we've come something has been missing or not worth having. Today we got mostly juice in our cup of beans. Other times our buns were missing. Once we were even shorted a chicken piece. No comment on the inside dining as we have not been inside. read more

Honestly spend your hard earned money anywhere else. After having several bad expereinces here, and still gave it more chances, I decided to finally write a review because enough is enough, and this will be my last time coming here. To start of, I always use the drive thru for the "convenience", and they always forget something in my order, ALWAYS, also you will be asked to park in the front NO MATTER WHAT YOU ORDER, so if you are thinking to use the drive thru because its faster, you will be mistaken, there are times when they is No parking in the front because employees take up those spots, I literally saw an employee come through the back door and go to his car for either lunch or break, while I was waiting for my order. Once I received my order, I realized that I was missing 4 items, so EVEN at that point I was like "ok its busy inside, I'm trying to be understanding, so I went through the drive thru to let the employee know, her name was Daisy and I just want to say, If you dont like your job or dealing with customer when you mess up their order, quit and let someone else work who does look like they want to be there, I was not rude, I was firm and explained what happened, After she gave the some of the items I was missing, She asked me to park in the front for the rest of my order, I said actually I will wait here because there is no parking spaces in the front at all, and also there was NO ONE behind me, she literally said word for word "WELL IF ANOTHER CAR PULLS UP, YOU ARE GONNA HAVE TO MOVE TO THE FRONT" and proceeded to close the window on me, girl its just churros Im waiting for, are you serious? How are you in customer service and talking to customers like that? Specially when I just told you theres no parking spaces available at all AND theres no one behind me waiting. I have been to the Pollo Campero in Vegas, Los Angeles & San Bernardino, they Chicken have always been fresh, hot, delicious. I went to the new one in my city and I must be honest. Customer Service was on point the Chicken not so much. I think they're cooking too much and putting it in the warmer that's making it not good at all. I had to change it two times the (first: over cooked & cold, second: cold & soggy on half of my thigh, the breading was not fully cooked). That comes from putting to much in the fryer and not shaking it. The ladies were very helpful, but at this point I was very unsatisfied and disappointed. I packed it up brought it home that was Monday Feb 9th today is Feb 11th. I really wish they wouldn't cook so much chicken so they don't have to keep it in the warmer. That takes the crunchy away makes it soggy and not fresh hot. I know it's new and upcoming, but they need to work on it being better. They need to pull some workers from other stores that have been working there for years to train them to let them know how much chicken to cook and how much not to cook. I know all this because I've worked at Stater Brothers for 10 years and in the deli for eight years. We fry chicken all day every day and we don't keep it in the warmer unless an order pick up is running late that's when we put it in the warmer. Because it definitely makes it soggy. I love the chicken but, when I go to this Campero I'm going to order fresh and wait for it. They need those heat warmers. Why yall don't have those? I ordered a 3 piece meal, and paid extra for a chicken leg, but did not receive it. I got a wing instead. My order was to go. The french fries were dripping with oil and extremely soggy. They went straight into the trash. I've actually never seen french fries that soggy with oil before. The rice is kinda' hard, and has no flavor. The texture is kinda' like rice pilaf, but no flavor. As for the wrong chicken pieces I received, they were extremely greasy. It obviously was not drained of any oil. I could not eat it. I am very disappointed.
