If I could give this place ZERO STARS or even NEGATIVE STARS, that would be more appropriate. I have home propane service from Flame. The do not answer the phone and today they didn't allow me to leave a message. I called for a refill in November that would have carried me through the winter. They did not show up at the scheduled time. A driver showed up 2 weeks later and was in the process of propping my front gate open to back in. I have 2 dogs that could escape or got run over in the process. I was home and stopped the delivery. Today. 01/05/2015, I now have a new supplier that uses tan tanks and this company has great reviews. If you are considering Flame Propane or have had service problems, run, do not walk, to a new supplier. read more

They over charge, haven't had much luck with people on the phone, and now they're trying to fool me on my bills so they can charge me for past due amounts. (I ALWAYS pay my bills on time). This place is now called Amerigas. I had a two year price lock and it ended in May I found out. They just came and refilled my tank and I received a bill for almost 400 dollars for just over 100 gallons. Ridiculous. You would think they would stop delivery when the contract ran out, but they told me it was an auto-fill thing and I have to opt out. So the propane was 3.249 per gallon,plus around 70 for fees, and I asked if that was right. I was told it was the going rate for THEM. I called around and the going rate is at 2.69 or less; even cheaper for new customers. I recommend going to Barrett. At 2.69 and NO FEES it would have been over 100 dollars cheaper. I now understand why these guys have such crappy reviews. read more

Purchased a tank from them and was given a contract to receive reduced price on propane for one year. However I must agree with the many reviews given that their Customer Service is nearly non-existent. I believe this is because Amerigas, a California based company, has bought them out and now controls everything. When I try to call I get an Amerigas recording telling me they're sorry but my local office is not available. They try to get me to call their National Emergency number and then say goodbye. I will be looking for another supplier when this contract runs out. read more

Not a bad place for tank refills, but quite a bit higher than Costco, CAL Ranch and a coupla others on Willow Creek Road. Service is prompt and competent. Limited hours. They wanted more for a new valve than the local prices for a brand new tank (with a gauge, even). I had a hose made up there, on my fittings, and I later learned I could have bought a whole new hose for about a third. So, shop carefully, folks. read more

Gas is $2.00 higher a gallon for propane. The service calls are charged for. We had a gas fire and they charged to cap a gas line that should have been checked when we moved in 2 years ago. They charge city tax, a HAZMAT fee, and a service fee to fill the tank. Yavapai gas does not. We are in the county and should not have to pay city tax, and there is no such thing as a HAZMAt fee, that is fabricated to generate revenue. Furthermore, they came to Prescott and fired all the locals and brought in their people. Not at all community friendly. read more

In May of 2015 we closed our acct with Flame. We were renting a home in Dewey at the time. We bought a home in Chino and moved. December of 2018 I got a call from Flame telling me I was owed a bill from October of 2018!! Excuse me!! I tried to explain that I hadn't lived in that Dewey home for two years and they needed to speak to the new home owners, but for some reason this logic wasn't getting through to his brain! Finally after several minutes of me repeating myself he said he would note the chart that I didn't live there anymore. I kindly told them they should knock of the door of they new home owners and ask for payment and never call me again!!!! read more

All I can say about this company is: BEWARE! When my mother cancelled her service with the Flame employee at the Congress office, the employee said my mother had a credit, an amount that we agreed with. When we received the final bill, Flame(Amerigas) had taken most of that credit. Flame charged a Pump Out Restocking charge, meaning they charged my mother to pump out the propane that was in the Flame rental tank that my mother had already paid for. So, my mother was charged twice for the propane. They will resale that propane. Flame will make money three times off of that propane. Amerigas stated this was all per contract. This is the WORST COMPANY I've ever dealt with! Not only do they not answer the phone, they don't even allow customers to leave a message. Even the district manager doesn't care enough to return a call! You have to drive to their office to talk to someone! They leave people stranded with no propane and don't come to fill the tank when they say they will. When they do finally come, THEIR PRICES ARE SO MUCH HIGHER than the other local companies! ONE STAR IS WAY TOO MANY FOR THESE PEOPLE! We sold a house in Prescott and they were supposed to go out and credit us for the remaining propane in the tank. Bad to No Service!!! I asked for the tank we RENT from them to be checked. And they told me it would a $60 charge. It is their tank and I have never seen or been notified that they have ever serviced it. Also, a year ago I asked about buying the tank and they never got back to me. If you are buying a house with Propane, do not allow your seller to force you into accepting a lease with Flame. Our tank is buried, so I am sure they would charge us a fortune to have it removed and since they own it, we are forced to use them as our propane supplier. read more

And WOW it is so very scary for they handle such hazardous materials which is the propane. he MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) show propane as: Warning!!!! Alert!! It is Extremely flammable compressed gas, Asphyxiant in high concentrations, Skin contact with liquid causes burns similar to frostbite. Ethyl mercaptan used as a warning agent may not be entirely effective in all situations. And Flame is a company that is less then trust-able, lack knowledgeable professional caring personnel beginning with the regional manager and descending through the whole company structure and out through the technicians who visit delivery points. !!!!!!!! Buyers beware Do not order gas from this company!!!!!!!!. They do not answer phones and do not return call, the do not show up when they have promised, yup break promises the blame you, they are rude and less then caring assisting customer service folks, the regional manager comes off like he is god and does not know how to deal with customers. They had a scheduled pick up date which was 2 weeks ago and missed and did nothing to correct this knowing we have a tank that does not meet safety standards. Fortunately the tank has been empty for some time since last fall except the fumes in the tank which makes the tank very dangerous which they acknowledged when made the 1st pick up date which they dismissed and did not show up and then tried to blame us when some one was home all day when they were have been there for the 1st tank removal date. When they were the ones by their own admission of not showing up with no real given reason or apology. What I would say to home and business owner with this company: If you are considering Flame Propane or have had service problems, run, do not walk, to a new supplier. or as I have done go completely wind and solar generation. They also are the highest charging propane company around, they gouge you deeply for there are many extra surcharges add to the base per gallon price. 4 months ago i called 2 days before they come to our area to schedule a fill....i was told 2 days wasnt enough time, that they need 1 week in advance call.....but would have the driver/tech call me if he could fit us in. driver never called, came anyway, and flame charged me 100.00 in addition to the propane price.....i wrote them twice disputing the charge....never got a return call or response,,...RIP OFF....USE AT YOUR OWN RISK...in addition they almost doubled tank rental fees ....and now that i switched to YAVAPAI BOTTLED GAS ....flame wont pick up their tank for another 2 weeks read more

It's almost like these people want to go out of business. I opted in to their $1.69 per gallon program and after the first delivery, when they got done with me, I'm grateful to be paying more to another company. The CSR I had to deal with had a major chip on her shoulder and was very difficult unless you gave her a credit card or checking routing number. They don't like you to pay a driver when you get the gas. What's the problem in paying WHEN YOU GET THE PRODUCT? No balance forward, no credit. It's easy for them. There's also the issues of just not answering the phone on days when they don't want to, pretty handy for them. All the extra fees that they tack on to your delivery. For 100 gallons I paid an additional $30 in fees alone. One fee, $5, was for calling them an ordering fuel! They call it a "Will Call Fee" and I got it because I refused to let them come and put fuel in my tank when ever THEY wanted. Well, I'm the one who has to pay for it, maybe I'd like to be sure I have the funds available. Another problem was they would never tell me when they would be able to deliver to me. That way, I wouldn't be able to pay the driver and would have to knuckle under and give them my checking account number. After some digging I found out that Flame is owned by Amerigas in California. I've owned my own tank for years and filled it with fuel from who ever had the lowest price. Back when Amerigas had an office here, I NEVER bought from them. They were always the most expensive, sometimes by a dollar more per gallon. If anyone from Flame is reading this, I have a message for you. The "Hard-nose" business methods that your home office dictates will be their ruin. People have a choice in where they spend their money and will always spend it with a firm that treats them fair and with respect. As for me, I'm all done with the "Fuel Nazis". read more

Moved to a new residence which has propane for heat services. The seller recommended changing to another propane company. I called Flame to give them a fair chance to continue supplying propane at our location. The customer service was not bad. I was given a run down of the costs to new customers and first delivery, etc. Didn't sound too bad at first but then I started calling the competition. Bottom line is I decided to go with another company. I had to notify Flame to send someone out to pick up their tank, (which was leaking) in my front yard. I was home but unable to look out the front window at the time I heard a truck in the driveway. Also heard a noise at the side of the house just before hearing the truck drive off. When I finally was able to go outside and look around, I saw the label from my new propane tank was ripped off and laying in the driveway. Then I noticed the Flame tank was gone (but they left their cement blocks). The only thing I could figure is the guy got a call to go pick up this tank, which is reportedly leaking, and the resident switched to someone else. And he was probably told to find out who we changed to and to rip the sticker off. Seemed like a childish thing to do from my view point. read more

If I could give a negative 5 stars, I would. I called over a week ago to get the remainder of my pre-buy 100 gallons delivered. With this current cold snap and snow, I know I'm very low on propane and don't want to run out, as it is I've had to keep my heat down to 60 and shut my hot water heater off trying to conserve till I get my delivery. I was told it would be 5 - 7 days before a delivery could be made. I called again after 7 days and was told it would be another 5-7 days before I could get my propane delivered. Nicole has such a negative attitude and is way beyond rude. Their message states these calls will be recorded to provide training and great customer service. Really!! does anyone listen to them? This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I guess some get so complacent in their jobs they think their invincible and can do whatever they so choose. I'm shocked this company would continue to pay employees for such deplorable customer service. It's not shocking that the rating on BBB is extremely negative. I guess once you do a pre-buy they think they can do as they so please and deliver whenever they feel like it. So if you freeze during a cold snap..............oh well!!!
