I came to this place to find some products for my daughter to dye her hair i was also looking for advice on what are the nest products to use unfortunately my experience here was horrible. There was an associate there just staring at is waiting for who knows what but at no point ask me for help. Based on the reviews it seems there has been no improvements or willing to make changes. Second person I encountered did ask me for assistance however rather than be helpful she seemed to not want to help me but judge my questions I felt they were very rude , I quickly grabbed what I needed and went to the line which wasn't moving. There were workers in a corner chatting away and not caring to assist the client. It's a shame because I feel they don't care since it's the only beauty store around the area. If you are able to find another place that will be more than happy to help you I recommend you go there. Be careful at this place. I noticed that they sell some knock offs and/ or damaged and old products and they are super rude when you try to return a product that is obviously not an original. I purchased Moroccan Oil Stying gel, if anyone has ever used these products you would know they have a beautiful and distinctive scent. Well, the gel had a horrible chemical odor that I didn't even want to put that on my hair. I went back with my receipt and explained and the lady even smelled it and she had the audacity to tell me that this was normal. This experience was enough to convince me that some of their products may not be the legitimate brand. That and the fact that the lady (the manager) was not only rude but adamant about not returning or exchanging this obviously damaged product. Buyer beware at this place. read more

They have any and every beauty need you can think of, whether you are a business owner or an end consumer. The prices on some of the items are definitely not as good as one would think for a "beauty SUPPLY" store, but if you do buy in bulk they are willing to give discounts. The one thing you can't expect is good service. The service is SO WRETCHED it is almost not worth going. The cashier will continue the conversation she is having with her co worker across the store at decibels that hurt your ears. PLUS if you do not speak Spanish you will have to make it clear. It can be a hit or miss here. I wanted a salon quality blow dryer and didn't want to pay retail so I came here. If you're in the area, it's worth it. I've been super happy with certain purchases and disappointed with others so I'm mixed. The pro is they deliver (I believe they still do) to salons on the miami area so if you're a licensed professional, you get a larger discount and with an ample order amount- you'll get it brought to you. They offered that service a few years back, I hope they still do. Yeah I got a badass blow dryer but it stoped working shortly afterwards and so here I am with frizzy hair wondering why a player gotta fret through all of this. Nail polish heaven for those aficionados who live for different shades of pink or whatever color you fancy. I was paying when I noticed while the merchandise is being processed you can't see the prices rang at the register. I asked the attendant and she became very defensive and unprofessional. She said that the prices are never incorrect. I made a comment that even at Walmart they make mistakes with prices. She was obviously annoyed and bothered that I asked. Worst place to go do your shopping. This place is a waste of time. And don't get me started on how ridiculous is the protocol to enter. I came in with my own gloves that have been freshly put on and sanitize and my face mask. I have been a professional stylist for over 40 years, so I know how to keep myself safe and protect others. A very nervous but respectful gentlemen asked me to takeoff my gloves and put on, hand sanitizer. After that with my hands wet from the hand sanitizer that they provided, I had to put on some cheap, flimsy, terrible fitting gloves provided by the house. Nobody seem to have after that an intelligent answer to my questions. I got tired of wasting my time and decided to ask for management. Here came the manager/owner, and instead of answering to my hello, followed by my concerns and my few simple questions, She just wanted to look who to blame. Now I understand why everybody seems so nervous, hysterical and confused. She made me feel uncomfortable and I really did not appreciate that. And to top it all off, at no time she wore gloves nor a face mask. What a disrespectful and Inconsiderate woman. By the way if you don't speak Spanish, don't bother going in this place. Listen,my first language is Spanish and I don't really mind, but I'm just telling you, if you're not fluent in Spanish you're going to have a hard time communicating with anybody on the floor. My blow dryer & flat iron just died so I needed to take my frizz ASAP! I did my research before going in so I knew the pros and cons of some of the products. Flamingo had the BaByliss Pro cheaper than amazon which is where I would ha e purchased it but since I live in the area I decided to stop in and I regress to my initial statement...my other one died. I can get in and grab supplies fast and show my license at the check to receive my professional discount. Marco is always in the back ready to help with any machine purchases or questions. I bought a $70 ceramic hair iron from hair art. I had one previously that lasted me 9 years so I decided to go with the same brand. This review is in regards to the technician on premise. I believe the gentleman is Cuban, so i will be speaking about him, not the shop in general. This gentleman is a horrible person to deal with, all he does is mock you, not be straight forward as if he really hates his job, no customer service skills, none. Brought 2 blow dryers for check ups, one with burning smell the other with a hizzing engine noise. Technician never called back to let us know they were ready for pick up, we had to stay on top of it, said he fixed it when he really didn't have to once we asked why they still have the same issue. Very shady, not reliable, came back home and decided to open them up my self, frustrated and decided to see what was wrong, technician did not do anything at all to them, i ended up fixing them myself. For any salon owner this is usually the to go place for salon furniture. Unfortunately my mom bought 2 salon chairs since we have added more stations and they are falling apart! One of the chairs when put fully down the foot rest falls off and the other chair the foot rest is in ground level. To push the chair up its also extremely uncomfortable, sometimes if you push too soft the chair does not move, and if you push too hard it goes all the way down. The whole structure is extremely flimsy, and as mentioned is falling apart. We have 4 other chairs that have been in the salon for over 15 years and they look more new than the ones we bought a year ago! We had also purchased 4 washbowls and they have needed to be repaired since water is constantly leaking out. Which I admit can also be a set up problem from the people that had put together the wash bowls, but just as the chairs the wash bowls are made with cheep materials. One of the washbowls is also cracked, which I have no idea how that could have occurred since you only wash hair there, its not like a whole bunch of weight goes on it. Save your $$$ and buy salon furniture elsewhere! Also, the people that work in the registered are a bit rude and the people "paroling" the hallways watch you as if you're gonna steal something. I went to Flamingo for the first time today. I felt compelled to write a positive review, especially after reading so many negative reviews. I will state that I am a non-Spanish speaking woman. During my shopping experience I was approached by three different staff memebers, three different times and in three different sections of the store. Yes, I was spoken to in Spanish by all three women, but as soon as I advised I did not speak Spanish, they each immediately spoke to me in English. There were no atitudes or rude behaviors. I was graciously helped by everyone and my check-out was fantastic. I was even told what my discount options were and which would be more cost effective for me. That, in itself, is rare. The prices were considerably less than any other beauty supply store I am a member of, and that is before my discount! Overall, fantastic experience. read more

This place has horrible managers! It can cause less but is it worth it having bad customer service! I was recommended by an employee to buy a product. After I opened it, the product was horrible and hard on my skin. I came back to speak to the manager so I can exchange it for the product that I usually buy and after waiting for more than 15 minutes, he/she couldn't even come out and speak to me. He/she just told an employee that they cannot do anything for me. For sure this place doesn't care about their usual customers.. Now they lost one more! I was in Heaven all of the OPI polish & hair care products I chase online were all THERE, if you're opening a salon of any type, they have it all, a one stop shop. I come here for all my beauty supply needs. They have a great variety of different beauty products at great prices. And you do not need to be a licensed beautician to shop here, which is great. I mainly come here for hair color, shampoos, conditioners, and hair products. They have a HUGE selection of high end and economical brands that could appeal to anyone. The reason I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5, is because the staff is not friendly at all. They never greet you, or ask you if you need help, ever. If you have a question about something you need to look for someone and ask them. I feel like considering that retail is dying, this is almost something crucial to a successful retail business, but oh well. This place is packed on the weekends and it's not a small hole-in-the wall place. I would say they have over 20 parking spaces which are at a premium when they are busy. If you are not a Spanish speaker good luck. Don't expect to communicate above the most elementary level. The woman on the haircolor isle tried to speak with me and mostly succeeded at the basics. When I asked someone else a very basic question she replied in Spanish that she didn't understand. I didn't have any issues with the cashier. Not pleasant but not rude. No one here is friendly. FYI they do carry Italian lines of haircolor that can be purchased without a license. It's not the same stuff as in the salons, but it seems to be pretty good. Prices at this place are very good.
