I have been a loyal Ulta customer for many years, getting my hair colored and cut at different locations (Kendall, Pinecrest, etc.) without any issues. Unfortunately, my recent experience at the Flagler location left me extremely disappointed. I booked my appointment online with stylist Loida. The website quoted me $253 for a full hair color (balayage) and haircut, so I felt comfortable knowing what to expect. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Once I was already in the chair with foils in my hair, Loida suddenly told me she "forgot to talk about price" and that the website "doesn't really know what you need."[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She then involved another employee, Ingrid, who unnecessarily inserted herself into the conversation and made me feel even more pressured. They started justifying higher charges because Loida is a "master stylist," my hair is long, and additional services were "needed." Which the master stylist price is already online...The new price they gave me? $349...almost $100 more than what the website quoted. She added charges for things like root blending (which I've never been charged for with balayage), Olaplex and even a blow dry, which in my past experiences the blow dry was already part of the signature haircut. Which I'm sure of this because sometimes I've gotten the signature haircut without needing the the blow dry. After I pushed back, the total was reduced to $303, but that's still unfair compared to the $253 I originally booked. And it was only reduced because I told her to take out the Olaplex and the additional blow dry she added. Also the deep conditioning treatment was not even close to what they've done beige. All she did was add conditioner and leave it there for a few minutes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]While the color itself turned out nice, the way I was treated felt manipulative, like I was being gaslighted into paying more for service I wasn't really getting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This has never happened to me at other Ulta locations. If the Flagler location doesn't fix this pricing issue, you will lose loyal customers like me. Transparent and consistent pricing is key. On March 15, 2025, Saturday I came in for Brow Lamination , Benefit Brow Lamination + Shape + Tint With Erick R. He was nice and had a great personality. I thought everything went well since I always have benefit brow do my brow lamination since 2023 with no issues afterwards. Well it's been after 3 days and within that time my brows and skin are still red , swollen , blisters, fluid discharge, and scaling like a fish . I've been using the $22 brow oil but it's not helping and I went to CVS and got some aquaphor healing ointment. Hopefully, it will go away soon and I won't have to go to an urgent care clinic. I honestly don't even know where to start with this review, so here goes nothing. I have never in my life felt racially profiled even though I have brown skin and curly hair, luckily it is very common in Miami. I booked an appointment with Loida P. for 6:30 PM. My hair is naturally curly and a bit frizzy but I didn't think someone advertised as a "Master stylist" would have such an issue, as I had done my hair with "Master stylist" Maria C. Just a few days before on May 11th for Mother's Day and she seemed at the time completely unfazed. I thought she was sweet and decided to come back to this Ulta salon for its "good customer service" Ha! Well immediately after sitting in the chair Loida tells me there is an up charge of $20 for "hair length." I told her I have visited the salon several times including 2 weeks ago with Maria C. who was styling someone's hair right next to us and that I'm not willing to pay the extra $20 as I have always been charged the $34 and $54 was not in my budget, I thanked her and attempted to stand up and leave and she then said not to worry, that she saw in the system I was charged $34 with Maria previously and that she would not up charge me, this time. She then turns to Maria and says "remember her she did her hair with you last time?" Maria says something like "oh" and that's all. Loida begins to do my hair and excuses herself for attempting to up charge me and says that it is a new Ulta policy and that before they didn't charge additional for hair length but they do now (I still do not see that policy ANYWHERE). I say it's okay and apologize as I usually blow dry my hair before getting it straightened but I did not have time today so my hair is in its natural state. She continues to do half of my hair taking breaks in between to go to the back room and gossip, I imagine. She comes back out and says to me "Maria C. says you used a coupon last time and that she would not do your hair for $34." That is where I really became offended as I live next to the Ulta in Kendall and just drove 30 minutes to this Ulta in Flagler based on my prior experience with "Master Stylist Maria C." I tell her I did not even know coupons could be applied at the salon and that I have NEVER used a coupon to style my hair, she had mentioned previously that she saw I paid $34 with Maria so why is she now trying to make up that I used a coupon? At this point I wish Loida would have just let me leave rather than do my hair and make me feel like I am not a worthy customer and she is just doing me a favor. To top it all off, then out of the room she kept going to and forth from while I sat there waiting with half my hair done, out comes "Master Stylist Raul R." And says (as he is walking away) "OH HER HAIR IS LONG SHE IS PAYING $20 EXTRA RIGHT." He does not even look at me or stop to wait for an answer. This was the breaking point for me, I felt bullied, I felt discriminated against and even harassed. I got up so fast I left my car keys and atleast they gave them back. But wow definitely NEVER coming back here, I am TRAUMATIZED. read more

I came to get a facial and Alana was super knowledgeable on cleansing and maintenance (so I don't get as much of those pesky black heads...grrr...). Next, I decided to get my eyebrows waxed, since there was a spot open, and you know why not? He (can't remember his name) worked his magic, corrected my subpar tweezing mistake and made my eyebrows look fuller than normal without any eyebrow liner! I'm telling you it's magic and he has it. Next, the cashier attending me was super nice too! I asked where the bathroom and she gave instructions, but then after I paid, she asked if she wanted to show me where it was and walk me there (and there was a huge line for the registers!) Nice & clean store. This one is smaller than the one at Miracle Mile. Customer service has been good. The girls are pretty upbeat and friendly. Taking away one star because sometimes I've stopped by and they haven't had the item(s) I was looking for. But, if you ask them, they'll tell you when the shipments come in and when to call and put the item on hold. I did that the next time and got what I needed. Plenty of parking outside. The perfectly layer out interior of this store makes it easy to access and shop with ease. My blow dryer decided to fizzle out on me so I came to buy one here recently. The variety is pretty impressive and although they don't have every brand, they definitely have comparable items both affordable and those higher end products as well. A sales associate is usually ready to assist you as soon as you enter which makes indecisive shopping easier. I recommend walking through every crevice of the store because the maze like aisles sometimes will make you miss a corner section with even more items to browse. There's a little bit for everyone here and the prices are great. Shopping here is both easy and enjoyable. read more

This was my first time visiting this location and I'm still venturing out slowly as we are still dealing with rising cases in the pandemic. I had ordered a foundation online months ago and needed to return it, so I decided to brave the store to make the return and pick up a new eyebrow product that is not carried in drugstores or Target. The first thing I noticed is that someone greeted me as soon as I entered the store. Usually Ultas are so busy and the employees so disengaged and useless so this surprised me. An employee actually approached me and asked if I needed help. I described the eyebrow product and she had no idea what I was talking about... and even pointed out an eyeliner when I said I was looking for an eyebrow product with a felt tip. I was like umm... no... that's an eyeliner and then just walked away when I realized she could be of no service to me. While I was browsing I noticed there were multiple people cleaning the store and all of the products were wrapped in plastic. Although it is kind of annoying that you can't sample before buying, I appreciate that the environment is much more hygienic. The cashier was very nice and helpful when I was doing the return and trying to combine coupons and gift with purchase. Also, the store was very organized, probably due to the reduced foot traffic. This is by far my favorite Ulta!! The associates here are so nice and extremely helpful when it comes to matching your foundation or questions about products in general. The associates do a good job in not making you feel stupid over asking a question or not knowing a certain something unlike other stores. There is always some sort of sale going on whether it's buy one get one 40% or even today they had all Naked palettes for 50%!! The Naked palettes were $27 after taxes which is not bad at all. The parking can be a little hectic since it is in a shopping plaza but besides that I have no complaints about this store. read more
