I have no words for how beautiful and unique flamingo gardens was! I took my boyfriend who was visiting from Germany and he absolutely fell in love with the gorgeous surroundings, as did I! The peacocks (some albino) and various other birds walk right up to you and it was such a cool experience. They also had several alligators, iguanas, turtles and an array of birds of prey. We also stumbled across a sausage tree and other exotic plants and flowers. I highly recommend this place to any nature/animal lover. read more

Great experience and definitely worth the money. A tram ride offered a great overlook of the property with a narrator explaining the array of plants and animals within the gardens. There were a crazy amount of peacocks and other birds freely roaming the property and dozens more in enclosures including hawks, eagles and vultures. There are not only birds but other land animals like bears, otters and alligators. It was a great experience and I would highly recommend to anyone. read more

I'm reviewing it as a Field Trip location. I've been the past four years with different size groups and it doesn't disappoint. The staff is friendly and knowledgable and great with kids. It's never crowded and the kids have a great time. Ms. T rocks and knows so much. It's super organized and time flies. The kids get an informative tram ride and walk around the property, learning the entire time. I would suggest giving the kids a snack if they are used to an early lunch because lunch is normally around 11:45/12 which is late for the younger students. :) read more

Off we went on a dinosaur adventure to take the youngest members of our tribe that eat, drink and sleep dinosaurs at this moment, we were so excited we missed our turn and had to make a u-turn. Flamingo Gardens!!!! We never being here before so didnt know what to expect, upon entering we encountered beautiful colorful birds. We continue to main building to purchase tickets , children 2 and under are free. Motorized wheel chairs are available if you need them. The only drawback t ok this beautiful day was the stifling humidity, mother nature, hydrate!!!. A beautiful Toucan greets you as you go into the garden, obviously there are trees and flowers at every corner, beautiful peacocks strolled the grounds showing off their beautiful plumage, there was even a white peacock something you don't see everyday. Ok, ok we came for a dinosaur exhibit and we did see some plus skeletons and a dino dig!!!! We rode the tram drank lemonade and took lots of pictures, fed the birds and the koi fish, walked with peacocks and learned some history about the gardens, why didn't I give them five stars? This is such a beautiful hidden gem in South Fl. My husband and I visited for the first time a couple years ago when we had family in town, and we saw a wedding taking place and knew this would be our wedding venue. Fast forward 2 years and we had our dream wedding right under the banyon tree. We definitely recommend this as a venue- Michelle is truly incredible and made the day extra special for us with all of her help. From start to finish, it was a great experience and SO AFFORDABLE! Tucked away off of Flamingo Road,, Flamingo Gardens is a place to go back in time and see how Florida used to be before it was developed. Peacocks follow you at every turn. The ride that they give that takes you around the property is pretty cool too! And I always try to make the orchids shows that they put on. read more

I couldn't believe that Id never been to this hidden treasure for all the years I've lived in South Florida. What a great, relaxing afternoon from walking on foot to the very nicely narrated guided tour on a tram, to the tour of the original homestead on the grounds. The wildlife and landscape was beautiful. It was awesome and we're going back again in a month or so with family who'll be visiting from out of state. Decided to be a tourist for a day in SoFlo! Went to visit Flamingo Gardens in Davie and it did not disappoint! We did the guided trolly tour which was very informative! Walking around the beautifully maintained property was a pleasure. Seeing all the beautiful wildlife, the peacocks are gorgeous, the flamingos are so entertaining! I would recommend Flamingo Gardens, however, i would recommend going early when its cooler or on a cool day. read more

Really nice place to check out, and especially towards the end of a South Florida vacation, though it's good to see during any part of a visit. More on the pricey side, at $18.00, but had a coupon from their website that took $2.00 off. Certainly a lot to see and view in the botanical gardens. Lots of exotic plants and trees, plus you'll even see some wild peacocks roaming around the area (no, they don't actually belong to the park). Good photo opportunities. Also, you'll see the flamingos, owls, rescued Florida panthers, bobcats, otters, a few alligators, and turtles. They do have a black bear but when checking out the exhibit, it was out of view. This actually is also a wildlife sanctuary, from what I've read and heard. The tram costs extra and I figured it was better exploring whatever I could on foot. Gardens weren't busy when going on a weekday afternoon. read more

Flamingo Gardens is a non profit sanctuary located on 40 acres of property that you wouldn't expect to find. Upon arriving, confusion immediately sat in since I was 100% where the entrance was (the sign was too small to notice) Tickets are bought at the gift shop, I found this place very pricey for the amount of things you are able to see in due (comparing it to Miami Metro Zoo) We went on Tuesday during the summer where they have a buy one get one offer running, it's was nice to get out of the house and experience a little of the out doors. We took a tram ride first thing when we went in, got familiar with the park. It's a nice 15-20 min ride around the property guided by very caring employees that point everything out. Pretty neat! Also a nice breeze hits your face while on the tram. Afterwards we walked around, it's suuuuuuuuuuper hot and humid! There's a handful of exhibits to see and the original owners house is available for touring. All in all, 3/5 stars mainly since it's too pricey for what's there to see... Maybe if it were $5 per admission more people would go. read more

This was a really interesting place to spend the afternoon. Lots of animals to see and it's a place that rescues animals and the only keep them in the park if they can't be returned to the wild. We did go on a tram ride with a guide that we couldn't hear because he didn't have a microphone and he had a strong accent so he was also hard to understand. If we were closer to him it might have been a different story, but we're we're quite far back in the train. So if you decide to go on this tour, try to sit in the front or don't go at all. read more

I visited the Flamingo Gardens a few months ago and really enjoyed it. I went on a Saturday that they had a special deal on tickets, so I only payed $7 entrance which was great compared to their regular general admission fee that is almost $20. I believe $20 is a bit too much for what they have to offer, I know they rely on this (and donations) to keep the place operating but perhaps if they lowered the admission fee a few bucks more people would visit. Animals look really well taken care of and I had the chance to feed some flamingos and peacocks! Staff was super friendly and they have a cute gift shop. I would definitely recommend checking this place out and I plan on visiting again when they have another special on their admission fee. read more

Every first Friday, they have food trucks fill up their parking lot next to Flamingo Rd. It's a great family atmosphere. People bring their own set up (chairs, tables, etc.), which is pretty neat. It's probably the best thing to do if you want to eat comfortably. Otherwise, you're trying to find an open table that the trucks put out for you, or eating while standing. Parking is funny, but not too bad. Just make your own. Haha. I'm not sure if the same food trucks come out every month, but the options are not plenty. It was honestly hard to find something that was enticing. I'd probably give it another try to see if the options change. Honestly, I suggest going to Hollywood Circle's food truck round up on Monday evenings, or even the one at Wynwood's second Saturday Art Walk. However, if you're a family with small children, this is probably meant more for you. There is something special going on inside Flamingo Gardens, but it doesn't personally interest me. It was a cute Garden, but not worth $17 per person. The place smells really bad (especially in the Aviary) but the trees, plants & flowers are very beautiful. Food is expensive ($5.75 for a small turkey sandwich) and you have to pay extra ($4/person) for the tram which takes you around the park for a tour. I was nice overall, but for what they charge at the gate we expected more. read more

I've lived in the area for over 10 years and have driven past the gardens on countless occasions but have heard negative reviews about it including experiencing racism from employees. I decided to finally check it out using an attraction share and had a really good time! I expected it to be in worse conditions but it was clean, the animals look healthy and the plants green and taken care of. After hearing their mission statement I was sold and better understood why some of their building might look a little run down. I think the price of the tickets is worth it, not only are you receiving an experience but you are helping the sanctuary continue their mission. read more

Appreciate the effort that went in to this facility. They do have a lot of plant life and free roaming birds and an interesting history. If you are looking for a way to spend a day walking and relaxing in the outdoors then I guess you might enjoy it. However, be aware, the place is in disrepair and definitely not worth the price of admission: Our trolley tour was horrible. The speaker system wasn't working in one of the cars so our driver/guide decided she'd yell so that car could hear her. Which meant the sound in our car, where the speaker system was working, was deafening and indiscernible! Driver stopped to point out features, but if you weren't in the first car it didn't mean much because she moved on before later cars could see. Refreshment options were okay, but cleanliness of the cooking facilities was questionable at best. read more

Flamingo Gardens is a not for profit wildlife sanctuary. Most of the animals here are rescues. All the money from admissions goes towards taking care of the animals. Being a non profit the gardens are not as fancy as most of the zoos you would go to but the animals and wildlife here are well taken care of. Once we move to Florida we will become annual members since this park is a 10 minute drive from our place in Ft. Lauderdale. If you go to the park be sure to take their tram ride around the grounds. The tram drivers are very knowledgeable and explain most of the wildlife during the 25 minute trip. The park is also used for wedding receptions, both time we were there we witnessed wedding receptions. Food and drink are available for purchase on the grounds. You can also buy food to feed the animals. Flamingo Gardens is much nicer than a zoo, go visit them. The animals can use your support. read more

A very fun place for the family to visit. Plenty of parking. Stroller friendly. A tram ride takes you through part of the park that isn't walkable, full of information about the wildlife and plants. Tram is about a 1/2 hour long. They have three going at 10 minutes apart so not a long wait. They do offer to drop people off to explore and then wait for the next tram. Wild life is all over. Peacock and small birds roam around freely. Flamingos, alligators, turtles, cougars, and otters and among other caged animals you could see. Food truck and orange stand is in the park but expensive. This garden is a beautiful and great place for families, especially with children. The tram tour is a plus. My family loves coming here. The only thing that made us a little uncomfortable last visit was that it seemed that we were treated a little differently at the entrance. It didn't really bother us at first since we understand that it can be a bit overwhelming at the registers. However, today was a little excessive. My cousin was sent to the back of the line twice. The lady at the register didn't even let him talk, she kept saying that she had to keep count and the whole party wasn't there. We all were waiting with him, so we stepped to the side until he came back. But as soon as he got to the front of the line, she seemed irritated and said the same thing. It was very upsetting, but my little niece was excited to see the animals. I went up and talked to her to figure out what the real problem was. She continued raising her voice at my cousin. I told her that everyone was there and asked her to stop sending my cousin to the back of the line or I would go to a different register. She gave him the tickets and very impatiently said he was paying it wrong. In fact, he already tapped his credit card, and the payment had already gone through. I just wanted us to get out of the line at this point and I told her that he didn't speak much English hoping that she would just stop being condescending to my cousin. When she asked us where we were visiting from, I told her I lived 15 minutes away. In fact, my family has all lived and worked here for more than fifteen years and my cousin's English at least should have been enough to understand. The only thing that distinguished us from the rest of the customers was that we were the only Asians in the store. Coincidently, she spoke to me in a lower voice, and I just happen to have slightly lighter skin and rounder eyes. Her face suddenly turned red and she started speaking to us in a calmer manner. I am not sure what kind of encounters she had to deal with in the past, but I definitely don't think I would put my family through that again. I wanted to give the place two stars because the garden is good, just bad customer service. read more

A nice place to spend the afternoon. It's Florida so I recommend coming in the winter months because it can be very hot. The show was nice bc my daughter was able to touch an alligator and a snake.
