Passed by here on our first day in Seward. The vibe looked funky as Hell on the outside, which I kinda digged. Immediately wanted to go in and try it out, but it was packed. Which I honestly didn't consider since it was toward the end of the season. It just goes to show how good this place was that it was still loaded during this time of the year. Would definitely recommend getting reservations if you want to eat here. We were able to reserve dinner for the next night, and it didn't disappoint. Whatever image that brings up in your mind when you hear Flamingo Lounge, that is the atmosphere you are walking into. We got the Bucket of Butt and the Sourdough Bread Board as well as a couple of drinks. The drinks were top notch, and the Bucket of Butt was some of the best halibut I've ever had in my entire life. If I had one complaint, it's only that there wasn't enough butt in that bucket. If we ever come back to Seward, this is definitely the first place I'll eat at.

Literally stumbled upon this place while exploring their downtown area. Would've eaten there then, but they were completely full so made reservations for the next night. So glad we did! Feels like you're stepping back in time, and I am here for that. Such a classic vibe, and the menu reflected that. Let me tell you - the Bucket of Butt is the way to go. These chunks of halibut were perfectly cooked and so freaking delicious. And their tartar sauce was just a bonus. Also enjoyed their soughdough bread board - good starter. Nice drink menu. Loved their Pink Pony Club Marg. It's definitely busy here, so it is a bit louder. Service was good. Make reservations. If you want to eat here, it's your best bet of getting a table. Overall, great dining experience. Highly recommend.

"Sinatra Would've Ordered the Halibut" If Frank, Dean, and Sammy ever took a detour north to Seward, Alaska, The Flamingo Lounge is where they'd hang their fedoras. The place oozes mid-century cool -- like someone took a page out of the Sands Hotel playbook and dropped it right on the waterfront, only swapped the desert for glaciers and halibut. Step through the doors and you're instantly back in the golden era of jazz and martinis. The lighting is soft, the music croons, and the cocktails are mixed like they mean it -- none of this "just a splash" business. The bartender could pass for Sinatra's understudy, pouring an Old Fashioned that would make even the Chairman of the Board raise a glass. The seafood? Baby, it swings. The halibut was so fresh I half-expected it to start humming "Fly Me to the Moon." The scallops came out golden and buttery, the crab legs practically winked at me, and every bite felt like a curtain call for Alaska's finest flavors. The crowd was a perfect mix of locals, travelers, and a few folks who looked like they might've stepped right out of a Rat Pack photo shoot -- all smiles, no pretension. You get the sense that if Dean Martin were alive, he'd be crooning by the bar with a martini in one hand and a shrimp cocktail in the other. Pro tip: Dress up a little -- not because you have to, but because it feels right. Order a martini, look out at the harbor, and pretend you've just finished a show at the Sands. The Flamingo Lounge isn't just a restaurant; it's a time machine with better seafood. As Sinatra might've said: it's the kind of joint where the world still spins on vinyl.

Ah yes, The Flamingo Lounge. This has been on my must visit for a few years and this summer was finally my opportunity to try it! I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and decor of the restaurant but I am disappointed to say that the menu wasn't as exciting as I had hoped. I ordered the Tanner crab and it was good but the mushrooms on the side were under seasoned and the stuffed dates were burned. Service could have been better as well. Perhaps next time will hit the mark.

Their one and only dessert. Brownie al a mode.

It was nice atmosphere very very busy probably one of the coolest places in Seaward. Must try the crab legs and the halibut chowder! Pass on the hummus plate

I cant believe my first time having bone marrow was in Alaska. The drinks were fantastic, but the bone marrow dish was unlike anything I've ever had before. I pretty much ate this entire dish alone. My friend was really nervous to try the dish and after enough convincing, I got them to try it, they liked it! It truly is a culinary experience. It's not a heavy fattiness, it's fatty, but flavorful and weirdly light. I loved this so much.

Service was incredible, Lily provided us with a lot of local recommendations. I ordered the ribeye, veggie medley, BREAD, halibut chowder soup, beef stew, oreo cocktail/ irish coffee, and more drinks... ALL DELICIOUS. Ambiance was clean, great date night spot, and friendly. Definitely coming back

On our first day in Seward, Alaska, we were told by the lodge front desk that we gotta check out Flamingo Lounge for their drinks and food before we left Seward. Since we were highly suggestible, we went there for dinner. It was a full house at the restaurant and we almost got turned away. Lucky for us, two seats opened up and we got to sit by the kitchen to watch all the actions! The menu had a lot of choice, but we settled with the 28 dollar sandwich, halibut nuggets, broccolini, brussel sprouts, and tots. We also ordered an old fashioned. Everything was good indeed. Our favorite was the 28 dollar sandwich. It was meaty, juicy, and fulfilling. Our least favorite was the price. We understand the income potential is not great during the winter, but paying LA price in little town Seward hurt our feelings. Overall experience was just ok. We truly enjoyed the food and drink, but the service was lacking. The host had a little attitude but she did her best to find us a seat so we like her. But once we sat down, it took a long time to even get a glass of water. For the most part of our meal, no one really attended us and water was never refilled. At the end of the day, we would still recommend the place since we care about the food more than service, but just be aware.

The vibe inside is super unique for Seward but loved that it was still relaxed. We tried out a few of the beers and mocktails and all were delicious. Our food was good, not great, but overall everyone was pleased. The brussel sprouts were way too salty for me and personally would skip on the fries in the future. Service was solid even when busy. Overall, thought it was a good place to have dinner and would return.

Back visiting in Seward and hadn't tried this place before, and I was intrigued by the menu and pictures of the food so we made this our place for dinner. We are from Anchorage and took the train down here may 26, going on a wildlife cruise tomorrow, then taking the train back. This place had a cool, retro vibe, almost like a tiki bar because of the flamingo theme but not tropical. We got seated in the very back by the kitchen(which is fun to watch) and they were high top tables with round seats with no backs. We were fine with that as we didnt have to wait. We came at around 5:30ish and they open at 5pm, we would have had to wait for a table in the main area. It took 5-10 minutes for our server to come around, and he asked us who was seated first out of the 3 parties so we told him, he said he was blind(wasn't paying attention) For food we got the fried pickles which were cut and breaded like fries and came with a jalapeño aoli. I would have preferred ranch but I never asked because I thought they wouldn't have any. Options are good for sauces especially for those who dont like spicy. It was still a good sauce. We also got the bread and butter board. A warm small loaf of bread with two big smears of butter, one with honey and one with cranberries and nuts. We also got a bucket of halibut butts. You have to order fries seperate it is not fish and chips. The batter on the fish was light like tempura with house made tarter sauce. All of the food looked really good, the halibut po boy, the burger, and the baked potato looked awesome. Drinks too looked good. I got the non alcoholic porch swing which was strawberry syrup and ruhbarb purée. If you are in town and close to the sealife center, I would stop by for food and a drink. They also had a little cart outside in the gravel yard that had donuts and drinks as well.

In the men's stall, yes it's a whole bunch of cameras

Place was fun. Have a great vibe and cool decor. place was great. It was fun to sit near the kitchen and watch the expo. Our server was either new or overwhelmed. He still did a good job. Just had a lot going on. The expo did a great job and was a well oiled machine in the kitchen. It was fun to watch them working. I like the hidden not hidden Anthony Bourdain, drawing on the wall in the back. Bucket of butts was delicious. Fried pickles were good. Just wish we had a different dipper. The jalapeño one was good, but we think something else would make that a little bit better. butter board was good just realized we needed to move the bread quicker as it melted most of the butter and moved it to the table. place has a cool vibe and would definitely be fun to come to just to get a couple of drinks if you're in the area

What a gem in beautiful downtown Seward :) Each member of the staff was so wonderful and accommodating. The decor and vibes? Immaculate and SO fun We walked in very hungry, so i unfortunately did not get pictures of our food (you know how that can be), but it has been a month since we were there and I have to admit I'm still thinking about the food, notably the Devils on Horseback. Everywhere I go now, if I see dates on the menu I get them and, they are usually delicious, but they make me miss Flamingo Lounge! I would also be remiss not to mention the bucket of butt, I still regret not ordering the larger portion (especially being gluten free!). The drinks were beautiful and fun, I had the Northern Lights (I'm such a sucker for a purple drink). Overall, a really fun spot with awesome folks, a whole lot of personality and uniquely delicious bites!

We took a walk to the waterfront for 15-20 mins and could have easily gotten a drink somewhere or done some window shopping. Everything was really good - starting with salmon gougere amuse bouche, the soup of the day (curry carrot?), and local oysters to the smoked scallop cocktail. The fried chicken, salmon, and shrimp and grits. We ended up ordering the cream cheese ice cream which ended up taking FOREVER since they forgot about it and never checked on us. Unfortunately the cream cheese ice cream was also kinda disappointing and was just like scooped frozen cheesecake - which don't get me wrong is delish but not worth the wait or $. Service was good until the end. Great wine options! Prices on par with SF and presumably Alaska/touristy areas.

I would not order it again. We both ordered the $38 halibut with basil pesto sauce plate. The halibut was quite good, but the sauce was bland. It was served with plain white jasmine rice and frozen green beans. Zero seasoning on the rice and beans, which was so odd. I've never been served frozen green beans at a restaurant. We ordered a bottle of reserve red blend. The wine was below average--the type that's barely drinkable at first and then becomes acceptable after the first glass. I wondered why it was possible to select such a mediocre bottle of wine from their menu. I suggest making a reservation at Rays Waterfront next door. All of the plates there are pricey, but based on the line out front I bet it's worth it.

I am on a 100 day tour around Alaska and Canada and have travelled through the south eastern islands / marine highway and Haines Junction / Tok by this point with no issue. 5 nights booking. Stated in booking I had mobility issues. Did not check until I arrived then they downgraded me to a room on the second floor via elevator. Would they come get me in an emergency? Would not have chosen this hotel if I couldn't get the advertised room. The given room only had a single handrail in the bathroom a distance from the toilet or sink. The shower was not step-free but mostly step-free. There was no rubber mat. The breakfast was very difficult to use with a walker and there was no assistance. On 3 occasions non disabled guests parked or blocked the disabled spots, raised with front desk, did nothing. On two of those occasions the lots were also full and I had to walk with my walker a significant distance in the rain. They had company vehicles blocking spots preventing me entering and others leaving and when asked if they could move temporarily I was told no. On third occurrence of disabled use/blocking informed them if I see it again I will be contacting police. Supervisor told me he was unaware of these issues which means they must have never raised or discussed them among themselves. He got sarcastic with me and told me I should call the police right now. I said it's your hotel I'm doing you a courtesy by telling you and not calling the police but I will the next time I see it.
