My friends and I spent a rainy day in Seward and Primrose was recommended to us as a fun afternoon snack. The place itself is small with only a few tables and some displays set up with local artisan handicrafts for purchase. Two of us ordered flights of wine and 2 ordered glasses of wine recommended to us by our server. I enjoyed the flight and was delighted to discover I could order a sparkling flight. We also ordered the charcuterie board and the warm burrata and olives. The food was really, really delicious and very fresh. My only issue was as they got busier and people were waiting for tables it felt as if they were rushing us. And I would totally understand that if we were sitting with empty glasses or empty plates just taking up the table, but we still had wine and food to enjoy. And we also ordered several items so I felt we should be "allowed" to stay for a bit. But overall I recommend this little local place and definitely suggest stopping in for some wine and snacks. read more

We came here off season via a recommendation from a bartender down the road. This place did NOT disappoint! The view is stunning. I got a flight of a few different red wines and all were fantastic. For lunch we shared the Alaskan charcuterie board and we each got a sandwich. "The Italian Job" and "Take me to Italy". The Italian Job was delicious! Slightly spicy, but warm and filling-highly recommend that one! The ambiance gave me Bridgerton vibes, with an Alaskan setting. Highly recommend! I see this place getting SLAMMED in the summer, so if you're a local try it hit it in the off season if you can. read more

Recommended by one of our hiking guides... this place is a rare find. Very cute little place. Not much seating. One person cooking in a small space right in front of you. Only one other person seating, waiting on tables and making drinks. Wow. The food was so incredibly good. And fresh. And the ingredients were clearly a notch above most other restaurants. Would highly recommend you do yourself a favor and come eat here. Be patient. The place is tiny. You might have to wait for a table but it is absolutely worth the wait read more

We dropped in quickly while waiting for reservations at a nearby restaurant and discovered this gem. The people were so nice and helpful. The wine was great. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. Would recommend for anyone! We were in Seward for 3 days / 2 nights and this was the most comfortable place. All that said, what stood out was a favor they did for us by canceling food that we had already ordered. The other restaurant gave us an estimated wait of 1 hour so we went for wine and an appetizer. the other restaurant texted that our table was ready 20 minutes later. Primrose kindly canceled our appetizer without problem. Their warmth and courtesy was so much appreciated! We recommend to everyone! read more

Came here after our cruise let out in Seward. Among the many cool places to eat in the city, I think this is a must. I had a coffee (perfect) and the wife had a jalapeño-lime flavored mimosa, which she loved. We split the Burrata plate, which was chock full of delicious olives, olive oil and onions, topped with a very generous dollop of cheese. The chef gave us plenty of sourdough to layer it on and even offered a refill when we ran out. Be warned - there are only 10 seats in the restaurant - but I believe it is intentional to give the place a really homey feel! read more

I love beer... but I was looking for something other than beer. I saw the "wine bar" sign and let myself in. Jennifer and Carri were great with the food and the guests. I enjoyed (several) glasses of wine and walked out with a bottle to enjoy in my hotel room. I also had the olive and burrata and it was fantastic.
