Bought a Yuengling beer on tapit was the worst tasting beer, they just draw a beer without letting the lines clear so the product is Skunked , i would not recommend a place so cheap to serve sour beer. read more

Flannery's is the complete dive bar, starting with the bright green outdoor decor, including the clear thick glass squares on the front facade. Inside is more green, friendly staff, a noisy and "diverse" neighborhood bar crowd, clouds of cigarette smoke, catchy Jukebox selections, down home prices (beer for me), and of course cash only. Flannery's Tavern - a bar with green lights - Pubs Near Me - Chesterton, Indiana

I'm currently in town visiting a friend for the week. The bar scene is something I'm considerably familiar with, as I've worked in different restaurants and bars for the entirety of my adult life. Although I have nothing against Flannery's Tavern (the locals were more than gracious and the overall vibe of the establishment was laid-back/typical of a small town dive bar) the bartender working the evening I was there proved to be rather condescending towards me and ultimately made me feel unwelcome. Upon first meeting her she seemed friendly, but as soon as I asked her any sort of question about what beers the bar offered or what sort of mixers were available for cocktails, her demeanor changed. She treated/spoke to me as if I were a child (I'm almost 30 years old), even asking me if "I was sure I could handle" a 4.7 ABV beer... While my friends and I were all casually drinking the same amount, I was the only one that was asked if I needed a glass of water later in the night. I can understand singling someone out this way if they were acting immature or causing a scene, but my behavior changed very little from the start of my visit to the end. I hadn't had a drink prior to arriving. Not once did I act belligerent. My composure remained solid, despite a short moment of singing along to a song on the radio with several other people at the bar. I don't think I've ever written a negative yelp review. In fact, I purposely avoid doing so because too many times establishments receive bad reviews from patrons who have no real experience in the industry. However, with 15 years serving/bartending experience under my belt I truly felt that this needed to be written. I know that servers and bartenders can have off days. We're all human and no one should be wrongly judged based on one bad interaction. But I honestly don't feel that this bartender had any excuse for treating me the way that she did. I will never again set foot in Flannery's, not only because I'm from out of town and have no reason to return, but also because of the general service I received. If this is the typical treatment visitors from out of town receive here, then I strongly discourage anyone from popping into Flannery's if you're just passing through. It's unfortunate because aside from this particular experience, I had a good evening in historic downtown Chesterton. read more

This is a great Bar for day drinking,but at night they have a bartender who lacks a professional attitude, I've seen a gentleman buy a round of drinks, and then be asked to leave , because the bartender was cutting them off, this of course was after she pocketed his 15 $ tip, Not a place to be after 6 read more

I hate myself for loving you... Best place to go for a cheap night out! .75 draft beer. Great Jukebox. Darts. What more could you ask for? They now have food, but I don't think I'd go there. read more

Miserable bar. This place deserves to go under. The woman bartender was rude and made derogatory remarks about my intelligence because I couldn't hear her voice behind a mask. To worsen the experience there was no music and every TV was set to the same boring channel. Overall a dreadful place to get a drink. Take your time and money elsewhere. read more

If you're looking for hometown this is it. Tammy did a great job taking care of my friend and I who just wanted to mind our business and have a few drinks. When a man repeatedly tried talking to us and was kindly told we weren't interested, his counterpart who got slightly confrontational about the situation, were both removed from the situation in a kind manner. Dive bar that is true to its form. Cheap beer and a good dive bar crowd. Real people just out to have a drink and a good time.

The bar staff is generally great! Great pizza, great drink specials. The problem is at times the crowd can be really ruff.

This place is filthy, their drinks are not even carbohydrated. Their sevice is terrible, would not recommend going here. Truth hurts.
