Locally owned with decent food. Their soups are always delicious. We always sit at the bar and the daytime bartenders are really nice. Not their fault, but I've been coming here for a couple of years and the other patrons sitting at the bar don't engage with each other. Very odd. read more

Great food and the server was incredibly nice and patient (we brought our dogs). We ate on the patio and she brought the dogs some water, checked on us frequently, and was accommodating the whole time. It was four of us and we got a lot of different food but the winner was probably my wife's Reuben sandwich and the French onion soup. The beef almost tasted smoked, it was so good. The French onion soup was perfect. The flavor, the melty cheese, and the onions, all baked in the signature lionhead bowl. The presentation was impressive. Anyway, I would definitely be back when we're in town. We had no leftovers. 5/5 read more

My daughter wanted me to pick up pizza here after I finished a hike with my grandson. She said it was very good. This place has a large patio and there are always cars in the parking lot when I drive by. When I walked in, I discovered why: it's very smoker friendly. For smokers, this would be a good place to hang out, drink beer and eat grub. Most of the customers were outside on the patio when I came by, and many were smoking. But I came by with my grandson who wasn't allowed in due to his age, so I ordered a large cheese and a large pepperoni for the family to take home. I chatted a bit with a few friendly locals and then waited in my car with my grandson and dog while the pizzas were baking. The parking lot is well-shaded. The bar is obviously a popular hang-out with the locals. There are several beers on tap and not all of them are cheap domestic corn beers. Then came time to pick up the pizzas. The pizzas were $34. Whoa. And when I got to my daughter's and opened the pizzas (which come on a cardboard plate and paper wrapper rather than a cardboard box), the cheese pizza looked smaller than the pepperoni. Even the pepperoni pizza had a piece missing along the edge. I felt ripped off. As for the taste, the pizza was OK but it's not something I'd order again. My daughter and I clearly have different definitions of what a good pizza is. I'm rating this place clearly on the pizza. If I were a smoker, I'd probably rate this place higher, so consider the bias. read more

Ordered a thin crust pepperoni pizza and fried mushrooms. First time going there and it was half off all thin crust pizzas. Think this is only a deal on Wednesday. Overall the pizza was very good and so were the mushrooms. The whole meal was only 14 dollars (with the pizza being half off). Place was clean and pretty quiet. It is a smoking bar so that is also a plus for me. Only reason I'm giving it a 4/5 is because there was no music. I think this might be the only bar I've been to where it's dead silent. Went at 3pm and left at about 4:30pm and I only heard 1 song play for some reason. Dont know if they only turn the jukebox fully on until later at night or what. read more

Staff was disturbingly rude to my mother and I last time we were in here. So much so that one cook came out and flipped us off several times. This because I smoked a cigar - something I've done before there but suddenly was told I can't. Another well-known local bar, makes me feel welcome in Indiana. Music selections were pretty good. It was cool to see the locals (and you know they go there every weekend) sing all the songs playing on the jukebox. I like that they have a pool table, but they only have one so you might end up waiting a while to get some game time. It's not really "Frat-ish" or "Rougher" in the way of music and patrons. I'd say overall the place is the middle ground when compared to that of the other local choices. As always it's a bar, so lots to drink, music to jam to and people to hang with - what more could you want. Mushroom Swiss burger was done perfectly, medium with a nice grilled exterior. Very juicy with lots of flavor, skipped the bun. Ribs were super moist falling off the bone!!! This was our first time visiting Danny O's, we figured, why not give it a try? We are non smokers, but the sign on the door spells it out...there is smoking allowed here. It is a bar after all, pretty basic inside, no atmosphere to speak of. The young lady waiting on us was friendly, and attentive. She recommended the pork chop sandwich...she was spot on! Damn...it was delicious! Pork medallions, probably an inch and a half thick, wrapped in bacon, smoked and served on a crispy roll. Melt in your mouth, no joke! Potato salad was also tasty! DannyOs has a real small town charm. Good home town cooking. The bartenders know your name and your drink. They remember to ask how your mama is doing. It's where my friends and I always go for a drink after work. Jen is our favorite, she always has a smile, a joke and the familiarity of a true friend even our first time in. She and Mindy are the reasons we come in and have grown to love joint as a whole. Those are our girls and I believe they single handedly keep this town friendly and homey. read more

I went at night so I did not get any food. The clientele were regulars, but friendly. The bar was dark and dank, but maybe cause it was already midnight. The bartender ( Jewel I think) was really nice and prompt. I forgot that you can smoke in some bars in Indiana, and this being one. My only complaint is that there is one bartender there who is awful. No personality and she thinks she is "hot", which is a real stretch. My lady and I visited here on 5/21 and I definetly won't be back. I ordered a chicken sandwhich and when it arrived, 2 bites into it I find that the inside is still gooey and uncooked chicken. I politely notified the waitress and she looked it it, commented how gross that is and apologized, then took my plate and threw it away. Upon receiving the bill I was told that I still had to pay for it. I have no words to say other than any restaurant that requires patrons to pay for unsanitary and illegally prepared food is not one I will return too. Very dated. This is a place you take your 21-25 year old friends to. So for 2 pizzas 4 drinks $90 holy shit I'm still not sure what's going on in this place of business on the back side but it's very curious.
