Franklin House is a great bar to grab a bite and drink. Their food is consistent and has a variety of options. As about the secret menu for some meals similar to some fast food favorites.

This is a great spot for a quick bite and brew! They have a nice drink menu and food menu. We've been here a few times and the bartender, Nick runs the bar and dining room all by himself and is very efficient! Hub had wings and I had a burger and both were good. Tried their beer cheese and it was super tasty! This is a typical bar scene and has some gaming in the back and they allow smoking inside. There is an option to sit outside if you don't like that type of atmosphere.

New Lent Special! Chronic Tardiness. Wait. What day is it? Flour tortilla. Beer battered cod. Red cabbage. Pickled pineapple. Chipotle tartar. Capers. Who doesn't love a fish taco? What a perfect day for one, or a Pineapple Express. No reason whatsoever. Nope. None at all.

BEST BAR IN NORTHWEST INDIANA. Nice staff, all are welcome, more beers here than anywhere else, live music, game room, karaoke, award winning burgers, all fairly priced. Like duh, go here.

Wow let me start off by saying whoa what the smoker's den have I gotten myself into, does this place come with health insurance or is there an Obama Care kiosk in the backroom? The floors *lets out a drawn out sigh* immaculate, so clean I was tempted to order a house salad, dump it on the floor and get at it. I enter the establishment and to the left, a music stage the size of a bathroom and a karaoke set up so thrown back I could have sworn Jeff Sessions dad had local flyers on where he misplaced it. I draw my eye to the back, dart boards, rambunctious pin ball machines and an air hockey table that lets out enough coolant to make the EPA lift an eyebrow. We venture back around to the bathroom, the western double doors and keg urinals made my back molars grind, but I refrain. The service, boy oh boy the service, these worker bees took an adderall cause that shit was on POINT, *looks at the floor* almost better than the floor. Then I asked for a coke and this bearded unicorn doesn't even charge me, my jaw dropped like a loony toons cartoon. They only charge for alcoholic drinks, what a feature. Now the people, I understand the bar can't control who comes to Franklin House, but god damn I haven't seen this many white people red faced since Mumford Sons new album got 2 out of 5 stars by Rolling Stone. Barbacoa tacos just arrived *takes a bite* damn that's authentic but quietly dry, so I eyed that cholula across the bar and made it happen, *kisses three fingers* perfection. Overall review: You'll see me again

Mild buffalo wings. I like my wings to taste like Franks red hot and these were more buttery and no heat.

The girl who runs karaoke is mean and rude. She yelled at my friend when the dude called her on stage.

Lots of young, drunk locals looking for a fight. Food is ordinary and not tasteful. But, price is a single $.

Great quick service, however if you do not like smoking, this may not be the place for you. This establishment allows smoking inside.

Last night was my first visit to Fiddler's Hearth, despite wanting to check this place out ever since I started dating my boyfriend, who lives in South Bend, a year and a half ago! Their regular menu looks sooooo good and their restaurant week menu also looked good! Just a note - only 2 of the items on their restaurant week menu appear on the regular menu, so get these unique dishes while you can these next two weeks! Like I said, I have been wanting to check out this SB institution for ages! Inside is adorable and absolutely maximalist. My minimalist mom would have a heart attack coming in here. So despite it being -5 degrees out, Fiddler's Hearth was packed and we were glad we made reservations. It was the first day they had the special restaurant week so it did take 2 hours for us to get through and finish everything because the kitchen had to make all these new items but I won't fault the restaurant for that in my review today. I am sure it is normally a well-oiled machine. My bf and I both got different things off of the menu but ended up splitting so we could try lots of different Irish foods. We started off sipping in some unique alcoholic drinks. I got the shamrock coffee which had Baileys and mocha. He got the restaurant week special of a pear and allspice old fashioned. His drink was very strong. Mine was delightful and I was a happy camper sipping mine. Round one goes to me for choosing the best drink. The drinks were about $9 for the old fashioned and $7 for the spiked coffee. Next round was our first course, the appetizer. He got the steak pie (a mini version of the Guiness Steak Pie on the normal menu) for the appetizer which was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC and seasoned to perfection with lots of onions. I got the potato and leek colcannon cakes for the appetizer which were very leek heavy on the taste. I liked it but agreed his appetizer was the winner. Next up to the plate were our entrees. He paid $3 additional dollars for their take on a salmon wellington. It came with a side of brussel sprouts and potatoes. I chose to be a fatty and get the patty melt with medium rare prime rib, stone ground mustard, grilled onions, and a side of pretty yummy chips (ie French fries). It was a very wet sandwich haha. I personally think mine was the better one, while my bf thought his was the best. Sometimes, you just need a really wet and juicy sandwich!! Haha! Last but not least was our desserts. He was the winner here but just barely. His bread pudding was a calorie heavy delight, smothered in a white chocolate sauce. Mine was a cute little classic Irish dessert, a cranachan, which was sort of like a trifle. On top was a moist and chewy gingerbread cookie. In total, our bill was a little over $100 for tax and tip. A little expensive, sure, but we had a great time and came home very full! I will be back!

Just depends on what kind of mood you're looking for (and the weather). The service was fantastic and the wait is never long, even during peak hours for dinner. The fish and chips were fantastically seasoned, not too oily, warm and crisp. The amount was really good for the price. I was starving, so I ate all of mine in one go. If there could be an option to add one more fish, I'd do that and take it for leftovers if possible. There's a wide variety on the menu for anyone to enjoy something, including alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. The outdoor seating is on a quiet area in Ravenswood, but the train going by can get slightly noisy. Other than that, I wanted to also try the Full Irish, so that will be my order on the next go round!

Our party was four adults and two young adults (old teenagers). We were seated right away and greeted by our server. We ordered drinks and Curry Chips. The Curry Chips were so good. My son devoured them and still talks about them. I had the Reuben, it was fantastic. My hubby had a burger as did my ex-hubby. My son had the quesadilla and my daughters ordered a burger and the corned beef press. Everything was delicious and the serving sizes were great. My daughters' friends showed up when were done eating and joined us for a beer. They had no issues accommodating us and adding a couple beers to or tab. I look forward to eating at O'Shaughnessy's again when we are in the area visiting my daughter.
