Left my rig at the Love's Truck Stop and Ubered out here. Last time I had deep dish, was at Lou Malnatis or however you spell that in one of the suburbs of Chicago; I thoroughly enjoyed that experience. Think the pizza here was a pretty solid. The crust is a little different though, not as buttery, not as Pieish, but overall the deep dish here is less saucy and holds together much firmer. Nevertheless still quite good. You just can't find this style down in Los Angeles where I'm from. Quick Rating Pizza: 7.45/10 Ambiance: 8/10 really chill, if I lived locally, I'd dive in every now and then. A true taste of Chicago style Pizza. This pizza will stand up to any Pizza in Chicago. They offer both deep dish and thin and crispy style. I personally prefer the thin and crispy. I usually ask for it with the extra thin crust. The sauce, the cheese, the Italian sausage are all what you would expect in a Chicago Pizza. They also have a nice selection of beer on tap. read more

Ordered a Chicago style pizza from here and it was very good. Order was done in the time they gave me over the phone and when I arrived the bartender was polite and on the ball. Would like to check this bar out sometime but smoking is allowed so not a place I would normally eat . We came in from southwest Iowa. Stopped for a walk on the beach at Washington Park and stopped here to eat. The hubs was concerned about it being a bar but it didn't disappoint. I had a margarita, he had a blue moon. The margarita was made to order and it was yummy. Garlic cheese bread was great . I just wish there was.more but after the pizza I'm glad there wasn't more. We each had 6 inch stuffed pizzas , he meat lovers and i meatball and onion. We thought stuffed would be like a calzone or Stromboli but it was Chicago deep dish and very very good. Everything is amazing. But I don't see why you lock the doors 10 minutes before 1am. And Google says you close at 2 while this site say 1:30. I stopped in to try their pizza which I found to be pretty good. Been from the suburbs of Chicago. We have a great selection of pizza and I found theirs to be pretty decent in comparison. The big drawback, however, was the fact that they allow smoking in their establishment. I don't think I could eat there again, but I definitely would do carry out. We were staying at Blue Chip on a Sunday through Tuesday. Because of COVID, most businesses are not open Monday nights yet. We weren't left with many options for dining, as it was already 1930 their time. I found Local Option on Yelp. Being a huge fan of places like Giordano's and Lou's, I was a little hesitant on trying them. But we were out of choices. Well I am truly glad that we went. I tried the 6" stuffed pizza with mushrooms and sausage. It was very good and the perfect size for me. Very cheesy (which is how it should be and how I like it). Their sauce was really good as well. It had great flavor and just the right amount. The crust was flaky and not greasy on the bottom. I will definitely come back next time. My BF had the meatball sub and really enjoyed it. It had big meatballs, right amount of sauce and cheesy. The folks there were very nice and helpful. Made sure we didn't run out of drinks and that we had everything we needed. Food quality is terrible. Chicken wings are small and not worth the price. Pizza isn't bad but too doughy.

The stuffed pizza used to be my favorite, but it has definitely changed. Used to have a good layer of spinach and other toppings. Now it's basically a big hunk of melted cheese with flecks of spinach in it. Tried adding other things to it besides spinach, but it didn't help -- the ratio is just off and at one point the cheese I swallowed was still connected to cheese in my mouth and it was uncomfortable. The thin crust is great, though, so I recommend that. Not sure the fries are fresh cut, though they said they were, and the chicken strips come out of a bag instead of being fresh made. If you don't like eating with thick clouds of cigarette smoke in the air, do carry out. read more

I have ordered food here while at work and always enjoyed it. But coming in is a different thing. It seems like the the Cheers of Michigan City. Everyone knows everyone. I could almost hear "NORM!" as I walked in the door. The locals are great. But even better was Joey the bartender. My wife couldn't figure out what she wanted to drink, she gave him an idea. He went above and beyond by serving her what can only be described as a mixologist's dream. He was very attentive to our table even though we are not regulars. Also the locals took us in like a cute kitten from the shelter. Food was fast to serve and delicious I had the burger and my wife had the Italian beef. I know we will return. 5 stars is too low. I really enjoy this bar! I come here at least once a week and it's always a good time. They have a great variety on the jukebox and the volume is good - not too high, not too low. On Tuesdays and Thursdays they have karaoke starting at 10 pm. It's a sunken bar which is the first time I've seen this. I prefer to sit at the actual bar and I can almost always get a chair there. We heard this was under new management so we went for the first time last Saturday and I have to say I was very impressed. Very cool set up for sport watchers but the food is what's going to make me come back. We had a deep dish meat lovers pizza and tried their Italian beef sandwich. Both dishes were incredible!! I wish I could write a review about the food but have yet to try it. We ordered off Grubhub a few weeks ago, received a confirmation and after an hour plus of waiting the order was cancelled. We tried again this evening and after waiting the hour plus with no updates called to check the order since it was past the delivery time. The woman who answered said she had no orders and that they don't take online orders and that the Grubhub driver has to come in, place the order in person and wait? It was subsequently cancelled a few minutes later. UM - REMOVE YOURSELF FROM GRUBHUB IF YOU DON'T ACCEPT ORDERS ONLINE FOR THIS AREA OR FIGURE OUT HOW TO WORK THE SYSTEM LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.
