Yeah, we read yelp and decided to see if our old garage door opener was repairable. Just like every other reviewer says, Kory came out and spent almost an hour trying to figure out what was wrong. There was NO charge! We agreed on a price for a new opener, and Jose (a sub-contractor) came out on a Saturday, in the heat, and fixed our door opener. He said that the old one looked like a cheap opener from Home Depot! He put in a new opener, tightened the spring, and aligned the runners and the infrared lights. Job done for the price quoted and no weekend overtime charges. Kory runs an honest business and treats you with respect. I've waited a month to see if there were any problems with our garage door? I went thru my American Home Shield who contracts out to local companies and requested service at 9:30PM - by 8:35AM the next day, Flash was calling me (in a FLASH!) to set up a time for their technician to come out . . . . . between 2 and 6 the same day. I received a call from Marcel at 1:25PM stating he'd be at my house within 20 minutes - he came, right on time. He suggested that I have all of the rollers replaced and 'lubed up' - geez, it had been at least 20 years of even having a technician out to my place! He was quick, thorough and did an outstanding job! They were extremely responsive (I called them at around 1:00pm and Kory was at my house to fix things by 2:30pm the same day), the price was fair, and Kory did a lot of extra little things (e.g. add additional screws, move the door tracks slightly) to help reinforce my old garage door and make it work more smoothly (for no extra charge) in addition to replacing the broken spring. Avoid this company, they were sent out to perform home warranty repairs on our garage door back in Spring this year. Spent almost $1k on repairs which wasn't a problem, they were professional and cordial. Fast forward to September and the door was having issues due to improperly adjusted parts they had serviced during spring replacement install. Worst customer service ever! Came and replaced a spring. When I tried to put the door down, it did not work. I asked the tech and his response was he was only supposed to replace the spring. Flash garage doors installed 2 garage doors and motors on our house and did a good job, but did not supply any light bulbs for the motors which is ridiculous. I called them to inquire about the missing bulbs & their excuse was they don't allow the techs to carry bulbs because they will break them. Might need to teach the techs to be more carefull or install something in their service vehicles to house bulbs. I had another company out of Arlington install a new garage door motor on my previous house they supplied the bulbs. read more

I had another garage guy come tune up my garage, and they made it operate even worse than ever. They even tried to get me to replace my whole unit for over $1,000. Kory arrived on time to give me a quote for a new unit, but was able give it a REAL tune up and fixed all the problems I had. He made almost a dozen adjustments and now it's working like new. After doing my homework in search of a new garage door and opener, and weeding through what seemed to be shady garage door companies, I chose the Good Guys Door Co. I'm glad I did. These guys came out and installed my door with prompt and quality service. About 3 -4 months after my purchase, my door was not operating properly. I called the Good Guys and spoke with Kory (owner) to help me troubleshoot perhaps over the phone. Without hesitation, Kory volunteered to drive to my house (an hour away I should add) that same day to investigate the problem. Turns out it was just a small adjustment to the safety sensors that was effecting the operation of my door. Kory took his time and fixed the problem quickly. A two thumbs up to Kory and his company. (I am a 50 year old man and it is fair to say I am a pretty good judge of a man's character. I have a home warranty with One Gaurd and they have used Flash multiple times over the years to service my garage opener. It's an older unit and cantankerous . Jr. was sent Friday afternoon. He called and text letting me know he was on his way... He replaced a part and serviced the door. He also went over some options with me I didn't know I had. The door seemed to be working fine when Jr left. 15 min later I went to put my car back in the garage and the door wouldn't open enough to get the car inside. Not Jr's fault as I mentioned it's old and cantankerous. I called and text him directly back... to my surprise he answered and said he would come back after he completed his last appointment of the day! I was extremely happy that he didn't leave me in a bind going into the weekend with thunderstorms making me call my warranty company back or the office. He called a couple hours later and arrived promptly around 6:40... Once again he was super nice and polite... Also, I want to mention since we are in a National Covid-19 Pandemic he wore his mask in the middle of JUNE. He was able to find the issue and ordered the part and got the door rolling again. I felt horrible holding him up on a Friday evening in all the traffic...and knew he had to backtrack to get to my house but Jr was so nice about it all. Great Customer Service!!! They had to come out 3 times to fix the problem. Were unable to fix the problem correctly the first and had to send a different technician the third to fix the problem. Claimed to have fixed the problem the first 2 times but the garage door stopped working within a few days. Charged extra the second time to fix the problem. The first technician did not know where the issue was and tried changing different parts however nothing really fixed the problem. Very frustrating. read more

Kory is, in a word, awesome. The spring broke on our garage door, so I initially called him to see if we could just buy the spring from him as my husband was thinking he would fix it himself. Kory quoted a good price for just the spring, and also quoted a good price to install it. Hubby was on call for work that week, so was working a lot and decided he just wanted someone else to do it after all. A couple of days later, I checked 2 other places... one wouldn't give me a quote unless they came out and looked at it first, and the other was much higher than what Kory had quoted. So, I called Kory back and he quoted the same price he had quoted previously and said he could be at my home in a couple of hours to get the job done. He was right on time, and he did a great job. He completed the job in about an hour, and that includes a little "extra" work since our garage door wasn't well-made and had come out of the track on one side. He made sure both sides were fixed to prevent the track issue. Guess what? I paid exactly what he quoted me by phone. Absolutely incompetent group of people... went to our home twice to address a garage door sensor and said the door opened and closed just fine and that they could not replace it. Yes, it works if you hold your finger on it until it goes all the way up and all the way down. It does not work correctly. However they did offer to charge me $289 to replace the sensor because American Home Shield would not pay if the door opened and closed. Get where I am going. Today, after schedule a third time because the problem still exists, I had the distinct pleasure of speaking to and yes cursing out the doubly incompetent owner Glen. Upon putting in our order, we received a call yesterday that they would be at our home between Noon and 4:00 p.m., today. A family member sat there for four hours and I decided to do a follow-up call and was told there was no service order in place just notes as to the problem and that they were waiting for us to call and schedule! Really?? My husband said he spoke to a person and yes, it ended up being Glen and repeated that he was told they would be there between Noon and 4 p.m., so yes we raised our voices due to be inconvenienced and losing four hours of work time today. Glen raised his voice and told us to calm down and to not raise our voices at him... what a wuss, after cussing him out good he threatened me with something that I didn't even bother to listen to... is he kidding, he needs business not me! In closing do yourself a favor and avoid this company. I called my warranty company and told them to put them on my do not use in the future list. Called these guys based on the reviews I read on Yelp and they were right! I thought I needed a spring to be replaced but the owner of the company (not sure his name) said the spring was fine and it was just the cable. He told me that he would fix it for no charge. He told me that I had a builder type garage system and he recommended me to upgrade to a better system. He was not pushy at all and as a matter of fact told me that I should wait till my current garage door system breaks and then to replace it. He was honest and not pushy! Kory answered the morning I called (a plus already), suggested I not use the door any more than necessary as it creates a strain on the opener's chain. Glen from Flash Garage Door Service was so kind and helpful. I had lost all power to my overhead unit and to the sensors. I checked the breaker box but nothing was tripped. I checked the sensors but nothing was off there either. Thankfully, Glen talked to me on the phone and gave me a couple of different possible scenarios to try (test power to the outlet, check the GFI outlet, etc.) and luckily for me it was the GFI that had to be reset and once again I had power and the garage door was working just fine. He saved me from having to place a service call. I appreciate people like Glen taking the time to offer some potential easy solutions but I knew if none of those worked that he was very knowledgable about the warranties my manufacturer provided and would have been willing to work with them to save me the most money possible. read more

I can only echo what other reviewers have already said about Good Guys and Kory. I called when I got home from work after realizing one spring on the garage door was broken and the other looked rusty as hell. I asked for a quote for both springs which was quoted at $225.00 including tax and labor. I prefer to do my own repairs when possible but dealing with a broken spring was not an option so I asked Kory when he could come out to replace the springs since the quote was very reasonable. He said immediately which worked for me and less than two hours later the garage door opens and closes WAY better than it ever has (it came with my house when I bought it almost five years ago). The unit is fairly old but Kory said it works really well and had no damage so wasn't in need of replacement. He really is professional, awesome, and friendly (and was very nice to my elderly dog who wanted to investigate who was visiting). I definitely recommend him and will call him when I am ready to upgrade the unit. read more

Avoid this company, Glenn, the owner, is out to steal from people and take them for as much as possible. Technician will give you a price for parts and labor and he says its just that much for the part. Look up the part that is getting replaced before the job is done. He was trying to get away with charging us $149 for just the part when in reality they are no more than $75 online. Which to make matters worse he argues with you and says "go ahead and see who can do it cheaper than that for you order the part online for $80 + shipping and handling and then pay for labor." Oh and wait he will tell you that you are stealing from his kids mouths when in reality he is the one stealing from his customers. I guess he thought since we are stationed in Fort Knox, KY and our property is in Killeen, TX we are going to be taken advantage of. American Home Shield should remove them as one of their contractors it leaves a bad name for AHS that is a good company. They can keep the $75 that was paid to them by us through AHS since Glenn is such a money hungry individual. read more

Horrible experience with Flash! They came out for a home warranty repair. Without looking at the opener, the tech stated it was most likely an electrical problem. He went on to say the warranty would not cover electrical but his company offered Lift Master openers and my deductible would apply to the purchase. I agreed and he came the next week with the opener. He installed the opener and left. 15 minutes later, my husband came home and asked if that was a 'loaner' until the real opener came in. I told him no and he immediately called them to come back and remove the cheap opener they installed. The tech came back and stated he had to talk to the owners. The owners said they could not replace the 30 minute old garage door opener because it was already out of the box. We were charged $430 for a 1/4HP door opener that is so out of date that it is not even available on line. We called our warranty company and they asked how old our opener was, I told them it was 20 years old. The rep said, Flash could have just stated it was old and we could have replaced it. Flash wants to sell unsuspecting customers cheap openers for higher prices. The opener would not even support our garage door so we ended up going to Home Depot and paying $239 for a 1 1/4 door opener with Wi-Fi; two openers, and keypad!! Did I mention that Flash charged us $30 dollars EACH for 2 openers because they were not included in the price!! I don't know who these other people dealt with who left great reviews, but don't take a chance that you will end up receiving the poor and inexcusable service I received.
