You get what you pay for. I hired them in April 2021 after having a good experience a couple years ago. I should've went with a more professional team, but that was my bad. First they will try to haggle you at the very last minute; well after you've agreed on a price. They do this because they know you are in a pinch. Call their bluff. The movers called several hours early to start the process. I called the owner because I was not finished doing what I needed to do and moving is already stressful enough. He told me I should be happy they came early...what? I had been expecting them to come at 5pm and they arrived around 11am. Don't expect to know what I would be happy with outside of what was communicated. I agreed because he literally left me no other option. Cool. When the 2 movers got there (I was told there'd be 3) they told me it would be $150 more because I had more stuff than I originally quoted. I told them that was absolutely not true, if anything I over did the numbers to avoid this. They called Manny and spoke in Spanish. I called him again and he said he'd send the movers the list I sent him so they can verify. Uh, do you think I'm a complete idiot? How would they know I had more than what's on the list if you have to send them the list? That means they have no idea and this is part of the scheme. He then began yelling at me over the phone after I called his bluff and said they'd leave now. Again, trying to leave you f*cked because who has another moving company on speed dial the day of moving? I told him I would move some things myself and we are staying at what I was quoted. I should mentioned the items they complained about was a few Trader Joe's bags filled with food and other small items. Still did not exaggerate the amount of items to be accounted for. Never had I had a "professional" yell at me over the phone. Aside from the movers scratching a wall on their way out, they did a good job. I actually tipped them and they were very kind. Manny, if you'd like to be a scheming con artist, leave your employees out the mess. They are fine people who don't deserve the hate for the way you choose to run a business. If you want more money for your service, be noble and charge more. Don't berate your customers and start disputes if you're not man enough to do them in person. *edit in response to owner: why on earth would I use your services again? Lol. The Flash Movers team is unbelievable. If you don't read anything else in my review, read this: make sure you tip them very well! If you've ever run the moving gauntlet in Chicago, you know pricing can be very expensive and very tricky to nail down (so many hidden fees and people that complain). I was given a flat rate for three guys. Six guys showed up! They ended up asking for $50 more because they moved more of our stuff than I initially asked them to move. I was happy to give them $50 because they moved my whole house. They arrive 30 minutes early and got me moved in under three hours. They used professional moving methods and even took apart and re-assembled our furniture. Javier's team at flash movers helped with my most recent move and they did excellent. This team was well organized and really hit the ground running. All of my items arrived in pristine condition due to the carefulness and responsible approach of Javier and his team. They didn't just bring it in and drop it somewhere and bail as I've had movers do in the past. Instead, this team took car to identify what needed to goto what room and how the larger pieces of furniture needed to be generally positioned. A distinction between flash and other moving companies was that flash gave me a flat rate. To move my stuff is $X. Whereas other movers will give you this run around about $X an hour with a prediction of 3.5 hours. The certainty and clarity of this was greatly appreciated and a real sticking point for me. Long story short, I highly recommend using flash for your next move. First off, Flash Movers' prices are unbeatable. I have been around the quoting block once or twice with movers, and I have never run into better pricing then theirs. Keep in mind that I moved from a third story building that didn't have elevator. Second off, Manuel is probably one of the most prompt and professional people I have ever dealt with. He turned around two quotes and scheduled my move within 24 hours. He also called me ahead of time (with an hour's notice - amazing) when my moving crew was running a tad bit late. The quote was incredibly competitive & AND included the protective materials for my furniture--plastic wrap, blankets, etc). They were 15 minutes early and are super efficient, so be completely packed to make the most of your appointment. I underestimated my # of boxes, but was happy to pay more to get the job done today. I was lucky they didn't have to go to their next job immediately. I knew they were heading to their next job right away, so I bought them lunch they could take with them. All in all a positive experience & would recommend. This was by far, the WORST experience that I've EVER had to endure. My landlord insisted that I use this company because they were cheap. So, I reached out to the owner and sent him detailed pictures of my entire apartment. I had alot of items that needed packing, but he reassured me that this wouldn't be a problem and they would have the neccessary supplies for packing on day 1 and then moving on day 2. The crew arrived on time, but that may be the ONLY positive thing that I can say about this company. It's worth noting that I've gone through his website and all social media platforms and I only recognize one person in the photos. I honestly feel like he got his ONE worker and the rest were family and/or friends. As soon as the guys stepped in my apartment, they said that I had too much stuff. I tried to explain that I emailed the owner pictures of everything, but they insisted that it was more than they expected. So, I called the owner, Manuel to discuss the situation and see what can be done. And then the nightmare began. He answered the phone and started YELLING at me at the top of his lungs, stating that he doesn't want any complaints/problems from me. I was shocked at the response and said that I hadn't even said anything yet, to which he yelled,"my guys already called me and told me that you were causing problems." He then preceeded to tell me that instead of spending the day with his family, he's going to go to home depot to get more boxes... JUST to make me happy. Shortly thereafter, he shows up at my apartment and hands me a receipt from homedepot. However, with the number of men in my apartment, I didn't know that this was the owner. He didn't introduce himself... just handed me a receipt. Thinking that this was another crew member, I gave it back to him. No idea where he went at that point. Meanwhile I had laid out a week's worth of cloths that I pointed to and told the guys in that room not to pack. I'm guessing they didn't understand English because I got a bunch of head nods and "OKs". A little while later, the cloths were gone. When I asked the 2 guys where this stuff went, they just pointed to several boxes. I tried to see if we could look for them, they just shook their heads. The packing was BEYOND disorganized and down right disrespectful. It was just random things thrown in boxes. Any labeling that was done, was on TOP of the boxes,so of course with boxes stacked on top of each other, there's no way of knowing what the boxes contained. I also noticed that one of the boxes was leaking. I made the mistake of calling the owner again that night after the guys left. I also texted him a picture of an improperly packed box that was left sitting on top of an unprotected glass,, that was on top of a something else.Regarding the piece of glass that was TEETERING on a bunch of other items,, he said there's no problem because nothing actually happened. After some more extremely unprofessional yelling, he calmed down and promised to come the next day and personally see about the leaking box and label the boxes correctly. This never happened, and I now have floor to ceiling boxes with zero clue as to what's in them. I also had an outdoor garbage can that had very little garbage in it, but STILL a garbage can. To my horror I stepped outside my back door to find a decorative bath towel and bath mat STUFFED into the garbage can with 2 TOILET BOWL BRUSHES. I was honestly too disgusted to think of taking a picture. A couple of Mariano's bags that I used for grocery shopping were on my kitchen table. To my dismay, they decided to throw some pantry items in these bags and tie the handles together. Really??? I look in my laundry room to find a dirty mop bucket sitting ON TOP of my UNCOVERED dinette chair. When I complained, I was told that my apartment was a mess anyway and that I was being picky. I was beyond offended. Moving day was a disaster, as I kept finding random stuff all over the apartment that hadn't been packed. They continued to tell me to relax and that I was acting crazy. Again, extremely unprofessional. I had several glass centerpieces that I had to INSTRUCT them to wrap. My Persian rug was crumbled up and tossed in a corner. They acted surprised that the rug was coming with me. I was told that I should've said something in the beginning if it was such an important item. Absolutely disrespectful. It could've been bought from Marshall's... it's still my property. The day after the move, I had to call the owner because they packed my closing papers even though I had told them to leave that drawer alone. He SCREAMED at me like a chikd,with "you want me to fix your problem?? Leave me ALONE!" The "ALONNNNE" lasted a good 20 seconds. He also told me to call his guys so they can tell me how awful I am to deal with. THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL AND DISRESPECTFUL BUSINESS AND OWNER. And I STILL got charged for the additional boxes. Well, only two men showed up to move us and one of the men started pretty much harassing us. Do me once, shame on you, do me twice, shame on me!!!!! We were moving out of our home and hired flash movers. They suggested we send them pictures to give us a better quote, great idea!! We had 3 bed sets, 2 TVs, one set of couches, an office desk and about 10 boxes. They told me it would be $400. When they came, they said walk around and said "oh no, you have a lot of stuff, it will be $800". I wasn't expecting such a price. I was in a tight spot since we were on a time crunch to move so we did it. They did an "ok" job putting everything together. My sons bed was squeaking so my husband had to readjust thing which wasn't ideal but oh well, I guess it can happen. Once we sold our home, we had to move additional things into storage- we had a grill, a dining room table, a buffet, a rug, and 30 boxes which were ready to be loaded from the garage. Again, Manuel quoted me the magically number - $400. He said since we are moving into storage and don't need to have the stuff put back together, it's an easy move. He asked for me to use them again once we moved out; I agreed. My husband and I took the day off of work on Friday and met them at 8am. One gentleman , roughly 40 and 3 young men, in their 20s came for this move. They walked around the house and said "oh, no, this is a lot of stuff...". Once I heard that it felt like déjà vu. They then proceeded to tell me they wanted $1,000 for the move... my jaw dropped. I got on the phone and called Manuel right away. He told me people call to negotiate all the time and if that's what the guys said then that's what they want. I was confused as to what negotiations he was talking about. He gave me a price, I agreed, and then they tried to raise the price on me... not cool!! I told them the most I'd be willing to pay was $600 (that was my original intent, to tip them $200). They didn't agree- so I told them I wouldn't need they services. They started swearing in a language I wasn't able to understand. This company should be ashamed of themselves. They not only lack craftsmanship, but also customer service. I will never recommend them to anyone and highly encourage others to think twice before even calling them. They tell you what you want to hear to get in the door and then try to twist your arm when they arrive!! Be aware, don't make the same mistake I did. I had a few changes come up and had to reschedule several times, and Manuel helped me with great service while being very professional and patient with me. Unless you want your property damaged, DO NOT use this company. I called Flash Movers to remove a couch from my 2nd floor and move up a couch from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor. I explained the stairs were narrow and this would all have to take place through my 2nd story window. Manuel, the owner, said they could do it. They removed the couch from the 2nd floor out the window no problem and then when it came time to move the couch from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor, the said they thought it could fit up the stairs. I said I didn't think it would fit but they insisted. Next thing I know, the couch was moved up but there was a huge dent on the wall in my stairwell. Being the good person I am, I still paid the guys for the job thinking that the owner would agree to fix the wall. When they asked what I wanted to do with the old couch they removed for me, I said I had salvation coming next week to take it but if they wanted to give it to someone or drop it off at the salvation army for me (it's down the street from my place) that was cool too. They ended up taking the couch. They left and then I called the owner and explained what happened and was shocked by his response. He said since they took the couch away for me we were "even" and the only way he would fix my wall they demolished was if I paid them more money!!! Again they did not have to take the couch for me. This was not a favor as I have plenty of room outside my house and I already had someone that was picking it up. I was so disappointed to say the least. Movers biggest nightmare!!! They helped my in laws to move a few weeks ago. Everything went great until they unpacked and half of the dishes were broken- I was there to see it myself when I helped them unpack. Plus, one of the tall lamps was scratched and the "professional movers" wrapped it themselves! I had to create a yelp login just to warn others. Owner was screaming on the phone, completely unprofessional and said "good luck, there's nothing I can do". My Chicago family will never use these people again, trust a reliable company and pay 100 dollars more- at least you'll move in with your possessions in tact and have a piece of mind. Really wish I could give these guys 5 stars as they were super efficient and friendly to work with on short notice after a previous moving company did a half-assed job and left our move 2/3s finished. They showed up 15 minutes early with 6 guys and got the job done in about 4 hours. On the not so bright side, I did a video walkthrough of the place to get a quote for the move which came out to $600 with packing but when the guys the showed up, the supervisor did a walkthrough and then upper the price to $700. Considering my video was very thorough, it didn't seem quite right but for the sake of moving things along, I countered with $650 and the move happened. The other stinky (unfortunately literally) thing about the experience was that they brought some of their own boxes (I brought most of them) and provided them for no charge as part of the service. After the move was complete, I started to notice a really bad smell coming from some of the boxes. As I was going through unpacking I came to the dreadful conclusion that the "free" boxes smelled like actual garbage which leads me to believe they were most likely picked out of dumpsters at some point. I suppose it would have made for an awkward question if they had prefaced the "would you like boxes for your move?" with "oh by the way, we'll be picking them up from the dumpster on the way." Despite all of this, I still give these guys 3 stars because they got the job done in a timely manner. Just ask to buy new boxes if you don't want to air out your new place for a day. read more

DISORGANIZED, PRICE GAUGE CUSTOMERS, POOR MANAGEMENT I hate to write reviews like this, but customers should be wary of working with Flash Movers. The day before my scheduled move, I sent a detailed email to the owner including information for where and how to access the service elevators at both locations, a recap of the furniture (including dimensions) that required wrapping or special handling, and the instructions manual to disassemble/assemble the bed. Apparently, the owner did not feel the need to read or convey that information to the movers. The following day, I received a phone call from the movers when they arrived and I reiterated the instructions. After ~40 minutes of no word/update, I called back and went outside to meet them. Turns out, Manuel had told them the wrong address and they were at the wrong location. Not a big deal, it's ~5-minute drive, but still we had lost an hour at that point and moods had soured. When they arrived at the correct location, one of the guys looked around and insisted that (1) it was my fault that they were told the wrong location, (2) my stuff would not fit into the truck they had brought, requiring at least 2 trips, (3) they required DOUBLE the agreed upon flat rate or they would leave. I called Manuel to explain the situation and arrive at an agreeable resolution. Manuel refused to take accountability for mixing up the addresses and further refused to get involved, telling me he "didn't want to get in trouble with his guys" and that I "had to negotiate with them." Given the amount of coordination, the fact that my belongings were packed and ready to go, and I knew I couldn't get another moving company to come likely within a week or 2, I had no choice but to agree to pay the inflated amount. The move itself was easy. They were fast, efficient, and mostly careful (minus a couple of wall dings and dents). Turns out, my stuff did fit into a single truck, so we only had to make the one round, but I still paid over $300 more than what my agreed upon flat rate would be. Moral of the story: If you want to work with a company whose owner refuses to take accountability for himself or his employees, and further, one who enables his employees to price gauge customers during vulnerable moments, then this is the company for you. It is a shame, because over the course of the afternoon, the skill and experience of the 2 movers became evident, and I wish I could have given them a better rating.
