Flash Print has often surprised and delighted me-- going above and beyond my expectations and even my hopes. A few months ago, for example, I brought in a foam core poster board to ask IF they could cut some small amount off each side...the only shop that had told me they could definitely do the job was quite some distance away. The Flash Print tech on duty kindly said she believed she could do the work, since the poster was not too thick/dense-- and she did! Which saved me *hours* of traveling that day. Another time, I brought in a page or two to be copied-- and was not charged, even though another kindly staff person did all the work-- not me. And once, FlashPrint was the only copy center open when I needed some copies made. ...Also, each time I've gone in (even when Halloween was not in sight), there's been a bowl of bite-sized treats for customers to take one free: a sweet treat for completing some bothersome task, so I've felt happily *rewarded* for being productive, too, on leaving their shop...in fact, my tummy always leaps for joy, in anticipation, as I've headed down the stairs and seen the bowl of treats awaiting me. I highly recommend Flash Print. Flash print is fast and as flexible and patient as the job allows them to be. How quick is Flash Print? Well I put in an order Sunday, when they were closed. They had a booklet ready for me by Monday 4 pm. Incredible! I'm not even super special or anything, but their quick turn around sure made me feel special! 50% of the time we get same day delivery! I am an annoying customer. I'm the type of customer that has all these demands and orders at the last minute. I am based in NY and had a print emergency over the weekend and unfortunately most print shops in NY are closed over the weekend. I had plans to visit Cambridge for the day that Saturday and I thought I might as well try print shops around there to see if they were open and able to help. I have used Flash Print for many years, both for my employer (Harvard University) and for my own home. Their work is consistent, careful and very fairly priced. Particularly memorable are a print I purchased online to have printed there, which turned out so well that I spent a great deal of money to have it framed, like I would any original artwork, as well as family photographs that were somehow rendered beautifully crisp and glossy from rather poor Instagram posts. Flashprint did all of the printing for my wedding in September -- "save the date" postcards, invitations & reply cards, place cards, programs, signs, and thank you notes. Everything they printed came out great, and the staff were really helpful... and they were really patient when I completely messed up the bleed/crop guidelines (oops... they have very clear instructions on their website and in brochures at the store, so you don't make the same mistakes I did!). When I had my program printed, they even printed extras on colored paper as a little wedding gift! Great service. After having awful experiences at Gnomon and UPS, I have been so happy and grateful for Flash Print. Yes, they are speedy and the quality is great (like real speedy, made me postcards in under a day and they're beautiful), but most importantly they are respectful and kind when I have questions. If you upload something online they will check in by email on whether you want to go check out a proof or just print it. The emails are short and direct but don't mistake this for curtness or being rude. OK, so, I find myself frequently having the need to print up 20-50 11x17 or larger posters for a side project I'm involved in... usually with very little notice or lead-in time, a day or less. I usually use Staples, not happily but because I just assume big box stores will be cheaper... until NOW. I roll up to the Harvard Square Staples with a USB drive of dreams and full DAY of advance time. Kid (who is apparently on some unfortunate combination of Dayquil, THC and lithium) tells me they can't take my files, the soonest they can print 20 11x17 posters would be 4 days from now. His manner, both languid and surly, enrages me, and I leave. I yelp nearby printers. I find Flashprint. There I find a reasonable and intelligent human being, a human being with whom I can do business. Yes, he can make my printouts in time. Yes, he can give me a test print - no, two test prints! Yes, he can even deal with an annoying last minute fix I had to make via their online upload system. I cannot recommend these guys highly enough. And, it's less money than Staples! My eyes were all buggin out of my head -positively- like Jim Carrey's in the Mask. NEVER AGAIN STAPLES. Flashprint 4-eva! read more

I just want to raise caution here. While I'm sure this business does a good job with printing needs, I'm writing to express concern about an experience from earlier this afternoon. I was walking on the sidewalk down Mt. Auburn St. and was approaching near the Flash Print driveway and the driver of this business' delivery vehicle started to curse at me and use every expletive, saying that I was in his way. I didn't realize that I was, so I moved, but this employee/driver was unnecessarily threatening. I went in to the building and expressed concern to the manager who was apologetic and said that he has received complaints about this employee before and would address it, but this experience still isn't sitting well with me, so I want to warn others to be careful when dealing with this threatening employee. read more

Not the friendliest staff. You need to ask the right questions to get the information you want, which can be difficult if you don't know much about print quality, paper stock, etc. That said, they know their stuff. And they're FAST. Flashprint is a very apt name. They can turn around orders same day, and I've never had a job take more than 24 after I've approved it. So my parents just retired (they were teachers) and I made them a scrapbook with messages from former students. I wanted small (7 x 5") but it was going to be big (200+ pages), and most places don't do that. Flash Print does that, and pretty much anything else you could want. AMAZING prices, VERY high quality... but what stands out even more is how wonderful they were before I placed my order.
