So this will be an interesting 5 star review. I was going to give them a 1 star due to the a--hole on the phone when it came time to pay. I was given a flat quote in writing by Carlos, super nice guy by the way. But he was out of town the day of our move so I had to deal with his partner, I think his name is Justin. He tried to charge me for an extra hour, spouting travel laws, blah, blah blah, all the while ignoring my comments about my written quote. I gave him the option to take the written quoted amount or nothing and we could go to court. He took the money with a couple remarks, not smart or warranted. So why 5 stars? Jorge and DeShawn (the movers) were fantastic!!! They are the nicest, most helpful young men oh and super fast! They got a fat tip because they deserved it. Oh and Carlos was so sweet and apologetic. This moving company is amazing! Moving sucks and it's hard to find a Reliable moving company that is affordable and not going to nickel and dime you for every last thing. They gave us a flat rate and didn't charge for extras like large furniture, setting up a bed, blankets or anything else. The original movers I was going to use showed up late and kept changing the price so I ended up going with Flat Bid! Awful. They packed heavy gym equipment on bedroom furniture. During transit, and not the moving company's fault with settling, the furniture was damaged with gouge marks into the wood. Dumbbells were placed on wood supports of furniture breaking the supports. Numerous pieces of furniture scratched and placed in moving trailer without adequate insulation with blankets to prevent damage. When I sent pictures of damage to Carlos, no reply. Really? Lousy service with no pride of service or integrity. read more

I had called at least a dozen moving company before I decided to use Flat Bid Movers. I'm sure glad that I chose them to help me move. Carlos the owner answered all my questions and make sure I understood the entire progress. Instead of telling me charges of how many people, how many hours, trip charge, fluid...etc. he just gave me a flat rate which is much easier to accept, On moving day, the movers let me know they are on the way and they showed up at my door ON TIME! FBM was recommended to us by a friend. We looked around and realized that this was going to be the best option for us and we were not wrong. Three courteous and nice movers (Andrew, Keith and Rex)arrived on time.They efficiently and with care transported our belongings. Our new home has narrow doorways and they helped troubleshoot how to properly carry in our large items (fridge for example didn't fit and they took off the doors and then put them back on once the fridge was inside). There are typically two ways Moving shows up in your life. It's either an exciting fabulous thing, or a dreading, sad, ending thing. And no matter where you fall on the spectrum, we all can relate to the BLAH of the in between part. The packing, the boxes, the moving of said boxes, and furniture, and transporting it. It rarely is a joyful part of the moving process. But holy moly, Carlos and his team make this part so great. I have had an amazing experience with many of the movers, and Josh and Carlos, the partners. They care so much and take such good care of you and your stuff. And as we know.. stuff happens! My desk ended up a little broken, and their team went above and beyond. We know this part can happen, and none of us want it too, but to know that when it does the humans in this company will make it easy and take care of you is unparalleled. Josh the owner came to my house to fix to broken piece, and then when it still wasnt perfect they reimbursed me for the desk. This company is who they say they are. They care. They work hard. We used Flat Bid Moving on June 14, 2020 to move all our belonging and furniture from a 3 story home in San Diego to a one level home in Escondido. Their quote was very reasonable. The three men who did the moving were Tiko, Keith and Andrew. They were prompt, prepared, organized and extremely respectful of our belongings. Beware...bait and switch with saying their movers are "employees" which is not true. Movers we had were careless and caused a lot of damage in a short local move. Don't fall for the one rate price they just hurry and do a half a** job. I've never been impressed at how quickly someone can do something wrong. Not recommended. We used this wonderful company to move my dad from his home of 20+ years in Tierrasanta, to his new 6th floor condo in Point Loma after my mom recently passed away. Flat Bid Moving was fantastic! They were very professional, coming out promptly to give him a quote based on the contents and distance, and also considering the challenges of the new location (limited parking, controlled access building, and only one freight elevator which isn't very large). The value was excellent, and the service was exceptional! We decided to have my mom's cherished but oversized China hutch moved into the condo via crane because the freight elevator was too small. They came out on super short notice, wrapped it up and moved it to the new building so it could be lifted in while we had a short window of time with a crane onsite. Then, on the big moving day we had Keith, Darius, Dre, Manny and Amiel (sp?) Pack us up and move us over. They were beyond the best! Very friendly, very professional, very courteous and considerate of our belongings. They had to deal with a quirky freight elevator and sometimes 6 flights of stairs for odd sized furniture, but never once did they exhibit anything other than the most positive and can-do attitudes. They assembled the bed along with a few other items, and they were neat and tidy with removing packing materials. All in all, they made a stressful day actually enjoyable! read more

I've moved 17 times in my adult life and Flat Bid is definitely the best moving company I've ever used. Carlos came over to our apartment and gave us a quick quote that was in line with the quotes we received from other companies. He was very professional and we liked that they use expert movers on salary. The crew came over on a Friday to pack everything and then Saturday to load and move it into storage for us. We listened to reggae together and I packed up my travel bags while they packed the rest of our stuff. Really nice guys, very experienced too. When we got the keys to our first home a few months later they did an excellent job unloading the boxes and furniture. They labeled things well which helped us know what rooms to put the appropriate boxes in. The crew that moved us in was different, but equally friendly, professional, and quick. 2 massive storage containers were unloaded in a few hours. I highly recommend using these guys for your moving needs. They helped us find a great storage company that they loaded our stuff into too (mi box was the name I believe). All of our valuables were undamaged due to their great packing. You won't go wrong with them! read more
