The team that packed our items were very careful in handling the furniture and even washed their hands before handling the cloth items. I did call a few other movers besides Coleman & the prices were nearly the same. I picked Coleman as their review were great. Sat morning right at 10 AM two movers showed up: James & Ben. I've moved several times before (a few were company relocation), so I knew we were in good hands when I met James. Both movers were careful moving from our 2-level condo into our 1-level house both in the Point Loma area. The crew was amazing and worked hard and handled things with care however, the management understaffed the job and resources. After 10 hours they still hadn't finished the move, or put together all the furniture they disassembled. After two full trucks they simply left and didn't even offer to come back to finish another day. Therefore, I was forced to hire another company to finish my move. Sadly enough the company is located in Point Loma which was also where I was moving from and despite my calls they refused to come out to even see what the job entailed. So if you do choose to use this company, my recommendation is to have them visit the site to assess the proper number of trucks and staff needed to complete the move in one normal work day. We were moved by JP, Bradley and Dennis. We got a head's up that they were running a little late. It was really just a wee bit. We probably wouldn't have even noticed, if they hadn't called. Still, we appreciated the courtesy. It was one of the few "heat wave days in San Diego., but they didn't let that get in their way. They showed up and were 110% up to the task! They were rolling, taping & hustling the entire time. We were just about 15 minutes away from the new place, where they carefully unloaded and carefully placed our furnishings, exactly where we wanted them. We couldn't have asked for more. After a HORRIFIC experience with our last move, our real estate agent Seth Robinson recommended Coleman for our move. Let me tell you... these guys kick ass. They showed up on Mothers Day to move our entire 3 story townhome in one shot into our new three story townhome. Nothing but stairs for these guys, from one place to the next, and they crushed it flawlessly and effortlessly. Initially, Darrell Chris, Dennis showed up, and preceeded to go completely Beast Mode on packing, stacking, and carrying bed frames, dressers, filing cabinets, and furniture down three flights of stairs, only to reassemble them in our new home with another three flights of stairs. Scott and Pat showed up soon after and dived straight in to it to help all of us meet our deadline if a 2pm finish, which they did with time to spare. Epic.... As a caveat, we had just completely remodeled, repainted our new home,  and they maneuvered heavy solid wood Indonesian furniture throughout the home without so much of a ding to furniture or home. Virtually impossibly heavy chairs and office furniture up and around corners flawlessly without so much of a scratch. These guys are fast, friendly, and professionally awesome, and their level of care and efficiency is second to none. We highly recommend Coleman beyond ANY moving company in town, bar none... if you have nice furniture, a nice home, and want a company that cares, these are your guys. I've used Coleman twice now and highly recommend them! They don't bat an eye or wince at and awkward furniture, stairs/elevators, or half packed boxes. Found Coleman through a recommendation on Nextdoor and am so happy with their services. I've never used professional movers before because when you're younger you just pay your buddies with beer and pizza, but sadly those days are behind me. I called Coleman, they gave me a super straightforward quote and didn't ask me to send them a room by room list of furniture like other companies did because I did shop around a bit just to check prices. Their guys showed up right on time, were friendly, efficient, professional, and didn't mess any of my stuff up. I can't say enough good things about these movers! I have moved many times and have never come across such efficient and caring movers. They knew what they were doing and took extra care to make sure not to knick walls/floors or break any items which included a grandfather clock and a baby grand piano. After a horrible experience with another local moving company I called Coleman to move me from my storage locker into my new condo. Scott and Sean were available earlier than promised. They went above and beyond, flipping mattresses, nailing in couch legs, moving box after box into different rooms. They went incredibly fast making my move end within the minimum hours required. We used Coleman movers after a recommendation on Nextdoor. I thought they were great, on time, nice guys and pretty quick. My only complaint is that they started using their plastic wrap, which wasn't really needed, without asking me and it ended up being $30 extra. They were reliable (showed up exactly on time), communicative (they responded and adapted to all of our requests along the way), and incredibly nice. Most of all, we were impressed with how fast they worked! Unfortunately, we were behind on packing and we were worried that they wouldn't be able to mover certain un-boxed items (as we've experienced with other companies in the past), but it was no big deal to them. They quickly helped us box and move everything we needed moved, which was a huge relief for me (being 6mos pregnant and slower than I normally am). Nice people, but incredibly unprofessional. We booked them for piano moving and were given a window to expect them (1-3pm). My husband took off from work to sit at home for their arrival. They called me at 1:45 to say they were running late-which was totally fine with me-and said to expect them between 4-6pm. They then called again 5:10 saying they actually couldn't make it and we would have to reschedule. They acted like it was no biggie and they could even do it in the morning which wasn't possible for us, or for the people from whom we were picking up the piano. No one could sit at home and wait another day during the week. I told them that wouldn't work, and we really needed the piano today as per our reservation. I was told the previous job had become bigger than they had planned for ("the people added extra things") and there was nothing they could do about it. So I guess it's just my problem now. They've got great reviews on their website so I'm sure they do well if they actually show up. But I wouldn't use them if you are someone who values their time. read more

These guys showed up ready to work. We have never used movers before. We weren't sure what to expect. We loaded a truck of our own with the boxes of the house the day prior and left the furniture for them to load into their truck. We paid for three men instead of two and I think it was a good decision because it allowed two guys to move furniture pieces and still another was in the truck. They have a 3.5 or 3 hour minimum and unfortunately they count mileage as double. The drive from the old house to the new house is counted as double time, if it takes twenty minutes to drive they count it as 40. So be ready for that. They guys were careful with our stuff and handled the large screen tv better than I would. The new house had stairs and that was one of the reasons we got movers. They asked where items went and never complained when I had to tell them something went upstairs to the third floor. No dings on walls during the move in was also a nice benefit. Though I would have understood if there was one. I also wasn't prepared to tip but didn't want to insult them. I googled it and found that each guy gets $20. I felt they deserved more but I was already paying 400 and change. They happily received the tip and in moments our houses was moved! read more

We contacted Matt who I believe owns Coleman Moving Systems. His prices were fair and we set up an appointment. He did not require a deposit just that we set up a date for the move. They called the day before and they were spot on time. Scott and Sean were our movers. Scott had over 20 years of experience. They knew how to protect our leather items better than we did. We will be moving back into our high-rise condo in six months after a remodel. We will be asking for them again. Excellent compliance with high rise living rules and took great care of our items. Great job guys~! As a note, every negative complaint tied to this company is not really Coleman Moving Systems. It is a different company that moves cross country or stores your stuff. We have just used Coleman for our second full home move and Scott and Chris and a 3rd new person (can't remember his name - hails from Pennsylvania) were all excellent! Scott and Chris moved us a year ago and remembered lots of details on pieces that needed care etc. They are so polite, conscientious and hardworking. Nothing is ever a problem. They make moving as painless as moving can be... Scott is organized and kind to his team. He is specific and has everyone wash hands before touching fabric pieces. Below is an email exchange between Albert and me about the damage his movers did to my $3000 Beautyrest Black mattress. Before I hired Colman I told Albert that I had a heavy mattress and he said, "heavy stuff is our specialty." First, the two guys dragged the mattress on blacktop and sidewalk, then tried to load it on a cart that was about 3 feet wide by 4 feet long. To get it on the cart, they folded the mattress hanging over the sides like a giant V so they could move it without it dragging on the ground. The next time I moved, about a year later, when the mattress was stood up on its side the memory foam slide to the bottom because the glue bond broke loose. Beautyrest confirmed that under no circumstances should the mattress be folded. The only way to get it back in place was to cut the pillow top about 2/3rd around the mattress (see pictures). Unfortunately, since it had been over a year from when they did it, I could not sue Colman for the damage, and Albert is such a little man he wouldn't take responsibility. If that wasn't bad enough, they stole a box of valuable items. It took me about a week to unpack completely and I discovered that box of items that belonged to my dad and grandparents was missing. HERE IS THE EMAIL WITH ALBERT ADMITTING WHAT THEY DID TO MY MATTRESS: From: Albert Erojo colemanmoving@att.net A mattress box was merely a suggestion for the next time you move. Darrell and Dean were fast, efficient and took great care of our furniture. We were originally going to rent a UHaul truck and do the move ourselves. It would have cost more by the time we added the truck, per mile charges, insurance and all of the extras for blankets and a dolly. Plus a full day to load and unload. Instead Darrell and Dean finished our move in less than three hours and we were able to sit back and relax while they did all of the heavy lifting. Professional Movers who know what they're doing. I called Coleman Moving Systems Inc with an attitude that I might receive another bad experience- I requested three movers to unload my storage space. I could tell when they arrived early and ready to work that I had hired the right moving company this time. Another thing that I could tell right away is that they were an experienced team and that my belongings would be handled with care. These three Men moved my heavy furniture up many stairs to the third floor and placed each piece in the designated rooms. I had a very bad experience with another company that advertises to send Two Men AND move your household items with A company TRUCK . I used them one time and I made a BIG mistake. I'm still waiting to hear from that company for all the damages those inexperienced youngsters caused during that move. I'm pleased that I called Coleman Moving Systems.
