This place failed to tighten the lug nuts on my back wheel after patching a hole in the tire. About fifty miles later, the entire wheel FELL OFF the car WHILE I WAS DRIVING. Unbelievably awesome service. We got a flat at 10.30am. Used the in-car pump to emergency fill it and then drove straight to this place. By 11am we were fixed and back on the road again! The whole procedure took 10 mins and cost next to nothing. It's Manhattan so we were expecting the usual rip off that comes with dealing with anything like this in the city. April 20/21 left my bike with Flat Fix, for new brake pads and chain. Three days later I picked it up. Immediate problems with the front brake pad. When applied the pad would vibrate all the way to the handle bars and give off a loud noise. Evidently Flat Fix never took my bike for a test ride and they stated on their add they do. Took the bike back to Flat fix and waited over an hour for them to fix my bike. Returned home and test rode my bike and the same thing was happening. May 21/20 riding my bike and the chain off and wrapped itself around the rear gears locking up the rear wheel and I went over the bars and injured my leg and arm. Return to Flat Fix for them to fix the problem 2 more times and they failed again. They cancelled my next appointment and told me to take my bike to someone else. Flat fix is a great place to get your tires fix. The man is very knowledgeable and will explain everything to you and show any issues you might have. Unfortunately there is only one man working. So it does takes time for him to work on your tires. Plus if you get there during a later time, you might have to wait up to an hour to get your tires fixed. The man opens at 9am. This place is a gem. My tire had the metal belting coming out of it and I wasn't sure if I could drive very far without the tire blowing out. I needed a place close and I needed the repair immediately. I stopped by this place and when I walked in, there were a lot of bikes and for a moment, I thought there's no way they have my tire in stock in this little shop that has half of it filled with bikes. Not only did they have my tire, they had two tires available. They removed and disposed of the old tires, installed new tires on the rims, changed the valves, balanced the new tires, and then put them back on. $125/tire. I thought this was a very fair price. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that needs a tire. The one criticism of this place is that they aren't good at answering the phone. I just drop by the shop in person and don't bother calling. It's a small shop, they're busy taking care of customers, and there's no secretary to take every call. But I am going to change my tires there for as long as they're in business. And by the way, for the reviews that say these people are rude... I found them to be very nice & hard working people. the person that works there, I believe he is the owner, is the tire whisperer. I have a 2015 Honda Pilot Touring with the Michelin Primacy factory tires (49k miles). For about 6 months, one of the tire would lose about 8 psi over a 10 day period, for months, my mechanic said it wasn't big enough a hole to fix it, just keep refilling. one day it went totally flat - I aired it up to 20 psi, as that was as much air as it would hold, and drive the 1 mile to this place. He removed the tire, removed the nail (that was probably in there for a year, plugged it, Charged me $18.. this tire leaks 0 air and its been about 5 months.. He's a very nice man as well as being a rubber wizard. read more
