The gentleman who was sent by the Auto Repair shop to put my donut on, told me about Mr. Tires in terms of only knowing they existed because the shop was about four minutes away from my location. (He didn't actually know the owner or any of the workers there.) Upon pulling up, a guy immediately signaled by waving to let me know it was okay to enter the garage. He said hello and asked what I needed. I told him I had a flat and he gave me the option of repairing using a plug or fixing the hole from inside of the tire. I asked him which was better, and he said repairing from the inside and told me what the cost was for each ($20-plug, $30-hose (?) I think that's what it was called.) I also asked him what his name was, and he said Thomas. Thomas let me know that I could remain in the car while he replaced the tire (which I greatly appreciated) and he took care of my flat in what seemed like less than 15 minutes! He also checked the air pressure of the rest of my tires and placed the donut back into my car. After I paid, he let me know what their hours were and I told him that I would refer my friends & colleagues in the area because I appreciated his fast & efficient work/service. Thomas also greatly appreciated my tip, which I wish could've been more as I rarely carry cash on me these days. So, if you ever need a tire or need yours fixed, stop by and ask for Thomas! I ran around to 4 tire shops and no one had the Odd Size tire that this Rover calls for..... It was getting Late 5:45 Pm ...... So I googled Tire Shop near me and thank God L&C Tire Shop Came up; I called them Spoke with Agatha who was so polite & knowledgeable I explained my situation & gave her the tire size; she put me on hold for less then 2 minutes and told me she has the tire size... So i flew over there; they were slammed had 4 cars up on their sidewalk getting tires fixed as well; Agatha came out, grabbed my flat tire and rim, rolled it right into her guys and told me to sit tight 15 minutes I'll be out of there.... And Bam 15 minutes & $80. Bucks I was good to go i even had Agatha give me a quote for my coworker for brand new tires cause she's gonna need them real soon; great prices !!! They immediately sent a mechanic to attempt a jump start (yes, wonderful Guillermo walked over to my location) and when that failed, they offered to PUSH MY CAR to the shop because I was so close. Unfortunately, I couldn't even shift to neutral and had to arrange a tow (which they also offered to help with, if I didn't have it covered by insurance). When I arrived, not only did George remember me from an emergency brake fix a while back, he worked MAGIC to diagnose the problem (complicated circuitry issue), source necessary parts/technicians, and get me on the road within 2 days at a very reasonable cost. I have been using this service center for over 15 years, principally to mount new tires I buy on-line from Tire Rack and ships to this location. Tire Town is one of their few approved installers in this area. Manager and crew are fantastic and very friendly too. They love their work and take great care doing the best job possible. The team member who replaced my worn tires balanced the new ones just-so, investing extra time doing it, and double-checking his work. The interested engineer I am, he let me watch the process up close. He also took the time to show me very uneven wear on one side of my left-rear tire. He pointed out such asymmetric wear can only come from poor wheel alignment. He left the decision to choose alignment entirely up to me. 'Turns out he was right! Their alignment expert invested well over an hour aligning all four wheels one by one to close tolerance, availing himself of the latest sophisticated laser-based equipment Tire Town has for this goal. It was inspiring to watch his intense focus on his craft. He also gave me a before-and-after printout, showing how especially one of the rear wheels had gone way out of spec. The practical result is that my little two-seater cabriolet, a car for enthusiasts, tracks better and no longer wonders around ever so slightly. It is refreshing to know and trust a company in the car business that puts the client first, does not upsell, does a great job every time, and has a superbly skilled team working to the highest standards. After hitting a bad pothole on the LIE in Aug. 2022, they had a replacement tire in stock, suggested I only needed 1 new tire when I thought I would need at least 2 and I was in and out in about an hour. Vinny, the Manager is friendly and awesome as is Roberto in the shop. They don't give you a hard-oversell and suggest unneeded parts and repairs like some of their nearby 21st Street competitors. They are very conveniently located in LIC near the LIE, and near the 59th Street bridge and Queens Midtown Tunnel.
