You do need to pay $12 to get into the park. The food was ok, but I thought it was overpriced and quality was average. Unfortunately, when we went there was only one person running the show because the rest of the staff called off. She was able to manage it by herself. The Pavilion is located by a couple trails as well, if you like to explore.

The entrance to the Pavilion is deceiving because it appears upscale which is contradicting to the menu options. Eight of us dined in on a summery Saturday evening so it came with a nice lakeside, sunset view. We had the mixed greens in Athena with steak skewer, grilled chicken sandwich with fries, and kid's meal with chicken tenders and chips. The steak skewers did not look appealing but thankfully had better flavors and textures than its appearance. The grilled chicken is rather small in which there was definitely way more bun than chicken. The sandwich is typically served with chips but one can substitute the chips with fries for a $2 fee. The chicken tenders were surprisingly a large portion for just $8 but the skin was not crispy. Nonetheless, the main priority is to have my girls fed and this meal with mediocre American fare did the deal. They ate both of the carbs and proteins without issue.

From the moment we parked, we were greeted by some friendly people outside. We walked in on the bar side and were directed to the dining side. Even with being on the restaurant sode, you coupd not hear the bar sode activity, so it was perfect if you have kids and want to have conversations. The bar side, even though we didn't hang out over there, had pool tables, a big bar area and Golden Tee. Theresa, our server, came right over and offered drinks. Fireball special on Tuesdays? Yes, please! I then told her we were from St. Louis, and shockingly (not really), there was a connection. She has family members that live in St. Louis! She recommended the tacos and burger so we naturally got 1 of each, along with a side of tots! Everything was wonderful! You do get free chips and salsa with any entrée, but the salsa really didn't have any flavor. Theresa also told us about their breakfast, but our hotel had complimentary breakfast. We should have listened to Theresa and went there. Oh well, there is always next time!

What a great gem! Our waitress was Nina (not sure if I am spelling that right as her name is…read morepronounced, Nine-ah). She was freaking awesome! I couldn't decide what soup I wanted...choices were a mushroom soup or New England clam chowder. She brought me out samples of both! Who does that?!? The clam chowders loaded with clams but just not like I have had at the shore. I chose the mushroom soup and I'm telling you, this soup would rival the soup from Kennett Square, PA...the mushroom Capital of the World! Met the owner, Leroy. Super nice guy! Biker friendly bar. Will stop back on our way to Sturgis!

The bartender/waitress (she did everything), was such an awesome person! She was a great bartender, who created several drinks on their menu that my wife loved, and just as great a waitress providing on-point service and recommendations on what to order from the menu. Despite taking care of all of the drinks and food orders for all of the patrons, she provided great service! Above and beyond that, her personality was so friendly and welcoming. You felt like asking her to join you for your meal! I ordered their house 'drift' burger but added bacon and cheddar (which I think helped the flavor a lot), but it came with a very tasty chipotle aioli (when combined with the cheese and bacon, gave a great flavor profile). It comes with a bag of chips but I upgraded to fries (they are shoestring-style). My wife ordered the blackened fish tacos that had corn, mango, and a blackened haddock; all contained in a crispy shell. She said it was the best thing she ate our 10-day trip of the mid-west! (I was shocked because we had some pretty awesome lunches and dinners - maybe it was the awesome mixed drinks that we're talking ;) All of our food is pictured. To wrap things up we had a cupcake flight for dessert. They were just 'ok' in my opinion. A bit dry and the flavors were not my taste (but that may just be my preference). I liked the coffee and chocolate/peanut butter the best, but even they weren't anything to write home about. The glass of milk helped a lot. Also, of note, if it's not busy inside you can bring your pup with you to eat, and if it is busy, you can eat outside with your pup. We thought that was nice because we always travel with our dog. The bartender/waitress who served us loves dogs and was happy to see him (although we didn't bring him until after dinner) and provided a bowl of water. Overall, we had a great dining experience to head back home with! Definitely recommend eating here if you stay at the Hilton it is connected to or if you just want to eat/have a drink.

The open airy seating space, beautifully decorated for the holiday, was inviting and quiet. Perfect for conversation. The staff were very friendly and attentive. (Shoutout to Sherry!) The lunch menu features several sandwich options as well as salads. We chose the fish sandwich which was tender and moist served on a toasted brioche bun. The beer batter coating was light and flaky, melt in your mouth delicious. We will definitely be back!
