I'm a sucker for a French 75 - their version was light, crisp, and perfect for a summer day. We had the pot of gold (lump crab) and whipped goat cheese spread for appetizers, the latter of which was my favorite. I loved the fresh flavors & sprinkle of pistachios. For dinner, I ordered the Carbonara Bucatini and it was so delicious. My brother and sister in law both ordered the filet and finished every bite. We have eaten here many times for lunch since they have opened and tried a variety of the menu items. My hands down favorite is the steakhouse smash burger. I normally want catchup on my burger regardless of what comes on it but between the onion jam and special garlic sauce and seasoned bacon this burger does not need it. read more

Incredibly delicious turkey pesto BLT, with layers of grilled sourdough filled with piquant pesto, lush burrata, seasoned bacon, artichoke puree, plus lettuce and tomato. (Don't order this on a date--it's very messy, but so worth it!) The Little Jerry Goes to Austin sandwich was also very good--crispy chicken on a bed of creamy coleslaw. The food was AMAZING!! The pesto turkey BLT was so delicious. The bacon is thick and so flavorful. The red pepper Artichoke Puree is so smooth and creamy. The drinks were great. We tried the Strawberry Fields and the Summer mule. Both were great but the Summer mule was my favorite. I had really high hopes for this place since i was told it's the sister spot for Bird dog on a casual level. But a lot of the food fell flat. The highlight were the pot of gold, the bread and lobster chowder. The pasta was pretty bland, oysters were a bit fishy . Quite a wait time on a Saturday night and they did not take reservations (weren't answering phone calls either to estimate wait time prior to arrival). This place is a little gem in the middle of a teeny tiny town. My large crew enjoyed craft cocktails, all delicious, and delectable lunch treats such their wedge with grilled chicken, fried chicken sandwich, oysters, and the smash burger, all raving reviews. we had a couple of people serving our table since we were a larger party. I came with a group of 8, and we comfortably sat in the middle near the entrance. If you tend to get cold easily I would not suggest sitting there because every time someone opens the door it gets quite drafty. The oysters are raw and come with an adorable little bottle of Tabasco with an entire half a lemon to squeeze onto them. The firecracker wings have a cheese on top that is fragrant so be aware of that when you purchase. The pot of gold with Crab, Fondue, Texas Chili Oil, and slices of Focaccia was decent although a little lacking in flavor. The stars of the show for appetizers would have to be the Brussels sprouts and Chinois Soba Noodle Salad. The salad is the perfect thing to share with a group, it was so good I got it as my main course and added the U-8 BBQ Shrimp that has a bit of a kick to them(: The Ora King Salmon was done to perfection; we were able to get it with the crab-fried rice! Sliced Filet Mignons Parmesan Risotto had the entire table happy. I love the ambiance, the layout, and the colors on the walls. The bathrooms are so vibrant and unique and there is plenty of parking. They do not offer a military discount. There is outdoor seating! No reservations so first come first serve. They make food behind the bar area which is cool to watch if you are seated on the back. They have a dish pit/bussing area that is quite noisy so just don't get startled by the noise because the restaurant is busy! read more

The food was good! A little pricey, especially for Plainwell, fries cost $8. Servings plates are the size of a football, so on the larger side. It wasn't very busy, so service was fast. There is only one waitress--at the end of my meal, there was a group of people from a retirement home, and when that many people were there, it got a little slow. It was very tasty but unfortunately is was lukewarm when I ate it. That's the rub on this visit. We came in a party of four double date. But every drink and plate of food came separately. We celebrate special occasions here frequently. Most recently was my birthday. It's such a wonderful dining experience. They never disappoint. The consistency is incredible. The staff is top-notch. So knowledgeable and kind. The atmosphere is rustic/modern. Super rad decor! One of their other restaurants, Bird Dog, is in our town. Ambience and service was perfect! Loved the low lights, gorgeous bar and accents and the building itself. The food was great but not amazing as we were expecting...I ordered the burger which was pretty good and my partner had the filet mignon but was less impressed. The apple pie a la mode dessert was delicious, though! We are at Gun Lake for a wedding this weekend and were looking for a place to have a nice brunch with a cocktail After some searching, TripAdvisor shared this sweet little place. I knew we had to go! 20 minutes through winding roads, we came to a little town and saw it. Established in a small rehabbed bank, the owners kept so much old history and turned it into a beautiful restaurant. The staff is so friendly and warm, they put you at ease immediately. We came here at 5 pm on a Saturday and it was already pretty busy. We were able to snag one of the last tables for 6. The wine selection was great and the menu was also great. They had some really good options. I had the scallops and they were perfectly good and the rice and lobster with it was terrific. Everyone else really loved their meal. The appetizer calamari was pretty breaded with no seafood taste. So if you like calamari, maybe not awesome but it did have good flavor. My husband and I have dined at this restaurant many times. I took a friend last Thursday night and my experience was less than desired. I ordered the filet mignon and when the dish was brought to our table, I ask the server what the side dish was and she stated "it's the fingerling potatoes and she walked away. The steak was cooked very well but the sides were horrible, there were no fingerling potatoes there was only burnt skin and a horrible sauce all over my plate. When the server came back, I ask her if she would eat them? She said probably not and walked away. For the price of this dinner, I would expect a better meal than I was served but the server's attitude made the experience mush worse. Needless to say, we won't be going back. read more

My first time having dinner at Dog & the Bank and 2nd time for my dinner companions. We tried a few delicious appetizers with our delicious cocktails before indulging in fantastic main entrees. The lobster corn chowder was thick, rich and a hearty portion -- almost too hearty. The calamari, however, was simply to die for! Crispy without a heavy breading and then totally glazed with a sweet Thai chili sauce! Yum! Comes with charred shishito peppers too! Ordered a few sides for the table such as fried Brussels sprouts with bacon that had some type of sweetness but absolutely delicious. The onion rings were breaded and giant! So good! The entrees included sliced fillet mignon on mushroom risotto and my dinner companion said it was tender and very tasty. My other companion had the Tomahawk pork chop and even with how thick the pork chop was, it was so tender and juicy and not overcooked at all. The Apple glazing the top of the pork was more like sautéed apple slices. The sweet potato mash underneath was delicious and so complimented the pork. This was a big entree if you're hungry! My entree was the tagliatelle pasta with spring veggies that included broccoli, carrot ribbons, sugar snap peas. The pasta was cooked perfectly and was so tender in the delicious cream sauce that covered each strand. I included the optional protein choice of a crab cake but I think I would've have preferred the shrimp option. You could also add chicken or steak. However you want it, they'll accommodate your tastes! It's so awesome to have an establishment of this high caliber in this area! Next time, I hope to try it's cute outside patio. The interior of the restaurant was very attractive though. Makes for a great date night place! Two thumbs up! read more
