    Lemon tart with Chantilly cream

Such a lovely lunch today at Dog & the Bank! Incredibly delicious turkey pesto BLT, with layers of grilled sourdough filled with piquant pesto, lush burrata, seasoned bacon, artichoke puree, plus lettuce and tomato. (Don't order this on a date--it's very messy, but so worth it!) The Little Jerry Goes to Austin sandwich was also very good--crispy chicken on a bed of creamy coleslaw. I can't wait to order this again! My friend ordered a lemon tart with Chantilly cream, which was fluffy, sweet, and the graham cracker crust was great, too! We will definitely be back!

The food was AMAZING!! The pesto turkey BLT was so delicious. The bacon is thick and so flavorful. The red pepper Artichoke Puree is so smooth and creamy. The drinks were great. We tried the Strawberry Fields and the Summer mule. Both were great but the Summer mule was my favorite. Last but not least....Little Jerry Goes to Austin chicken sandwich is the best chicken sandwich I have ever tasted in my life. I literally dream about this chicken sandwich. And the homemade chips are so delicious. They are crunchy a little bit spicy but sweet. I went back a second time and brought my grandson just so he could try the chicken sandwich and he also thinks it's the best chicken sandwich he's ever tasted.

I had really high hopes for this place since i was told it's the sister spot for Bird dog on a casual level. But a lot of the food fell flat. The highlight were the pot of gold, the bread and lobster chowder. The pasta was pretty bland, oysters were a bit fishy . Quite a wait time on a Saturday night and they did not take reservations (weren't answering phone calls either to estimate wait time prior to arrival). It's a cool, dimly lit, casual restaurant but overall kind of cold (temperature and service wise).

I came with a group of 8, and we comfortably sat in the middle near the entrance. If you tend to get cold easily I would not suggest sitting there because every time someone opens the door it gets quite drafty. The oysters are raw and come with an adorable little bottle of Tabasco with an entire half a lemon to squeeze onto them. The firecracker wings have a cheese on top that is fragrant so be aware of that when you purchase. The pot of gold with Crab, Fondue, Texas Chili Oil, and slices of Focaccia was decent although a little lacking in flavor. The stars of the show for appetizers would have to be the Brussels sprouts and Chinois Soba Noodle Salad. The salad is the perfect thing to share with a group, it was so good I got it as my main course and added the U-8 BBQ Shrimp that has a bit of a kick to them(: The Ora King Salmon was done to perfection; we were able to get it with the crab-fried rice! Sliced Filet Mignons Parmesan Risotto had the entire table happy. I love the ambiance, the layout, and the colors on the walls. The bathrooms are so vibrant and unique and there is plenty of parking. They do not offer a military discount. There is outdoor seating! No reservations so first come first serve. They make food behind the bar area which is cool to watch if you are seated on the back. They have a dish pit/bussing area that is quite noisy so just don't get startled by the noise because the restaurant is busy!

Came back with a bigger party. The food was good. My wife loved the vegetarian cauliflower dish. It seemed to have a sweet Asian like sauce to it. She received it very hot. I had the grouper. It was very tasty but unfortunately is was lukewarm when I ate it. That's the rub on this visit. We came in a party of four double date. But every drink and plate of food came separately. I'm sure my fish sat aside waiting to get served. I won't change the 4 stars down and may give this place one more shot.

You just don't expect to find fine dining in such a rural setting. We arrived a half hour before our reservation (must have) being that we were coming from so far away. We were told our table wouldn't be available until close to our reservation time. No problem. Four Roses has a very nice bar. My wife had a glass of wine and after perusing their pretty impressive bourbon list, I ordered my drink. First observation-bourbon and wine very reasonably priced. I also like the fact they had large cubes so I could enjoy my drink before it got watered down. Cubes were perfectly clear as well. We were shown to our table about ten minutes early and started to review the menu. Four Rose's menu has many staples but changes often adding specials. Our server came by quickly and answered our questions. We had many as there were so many great dishes to consider. Rolls right out of the oven were also brought to our table. My wife ordered White Fish Grenoble and I had the Maple Mustard Baby Back Ribs. I didn't care for the vegetables offered so I substituted rice. My wife was not overly impressed with her choice calling it very bland with almost no flavor. She loved the vegetables however. Portions were large-just not to her liking. My ribs were excellent. The maple mustard sauce was so good I asked my server for more. We both thought the rice was brittle - perhaps overcooked. Four Rose's is also known for their deserts and we were tempted. I had amaretto coconut creme pie. Excellent. My wife loves toffee pudding so she was excited to try it when she saw it on the menu. Unfortunately it was more of a toffee bread pudding then actual pudding. The server quickly took it off the bill when she returned and saw it was barley touched. Our server needs to be cloned as she was so good and responsive. Even with these short comings, our experience was excellent and we will be back.

We arrived at 9:45pm and were seated at a cute, cozy little couch and table setup. The hostess handed us both a drink menu and a separate food menu. Looking through it, I was thrilled to see quite an expansive cocktail list broken down by "chapters," as well as several small snack options clearly marked with a gluten-free (GF) label. Unfortunately, the experience was a bit disappointing once we tried to order. Despite the online hours stating the venue closes at 11:00pm our server informed us that the kitchen was already closed. There is no indication online of what time the kitchen closes, and it was incredibly disappointing to be handed a dedicated food menu by the hostess only to be told moments later we couldn't order anything. When I asked our server for recommendations and which specific cocktails were gluten-free, she mentioned she was new and had to go check. She returned about 10 minutes later, only to give a vague answer that "most drinks were gluten-free" without offering an actual recommendation or helpful suggestion. My husband ended up ordering a non-alcoholic drink, but between the kitchen confusion and the lackluster service, I opted not to get anything at all. It's a cool venue with a lot of potential, but they should put their kitchen hours online and better train their staff on the menu.

It's next door to their sister restaurant, Lovejoy. Walking in, the space is very dimly lit with a nice bar and some cozy seating. We were directed to a couch and a couple of low chairs. The menu is organized into different "chapters," with different themes for each chapter. They also have beer, wine, spirit-free options, and a spirits list. I wanted something fun, so I chose the Don the Beachcomber, a rum-based tiki cocktail that is flamed tableside. My friend got the Obstacle No. 1, which is a bourbon drink that they smoke at your table. Very theatrical and fun! These drinks were $20+ so pretty pricey, but worth it for a fun occasion. We had a nice time just relaxing and catching up. I would say it's not a great spot for a large group, but definitely a fun date night place. They have a small food menu of offerings from the restaurant next door that sounded tasty. We had just eaten but I'd be interested in their small plates. I'm so glad I got to experience this place. It feels like you're transported to a secret speakeasy when you enter!

You can go to their website to get on the email list for the password each week or you can go to the host stand at Butch's and ask if there is available seating "downstairs". There are stairs or you can take the elevator to the basement level. After you've arrived downstairs you can find the door with the black lock symbol and KNOCK THREE TIMES. They will let you in and welcome you to find a seat. They have a water station where you can help yourself and some tables and a couch and bar seating. The menu is pretty fantastic. Hope you check out this gem if you're ever in Holland and want to go on a little adventure to find this place!
