Staff is awful. Manager she was very young and rude. Half of our food order came and then the other half was another 25 minutes later. Don't know if that was due to the server or the kitchen staff. But I asked for boxes because half have already ate their food and the server got the manager. The manager tried to make excuses instead of honesty and apologizing. Also, our card was charged more than our bill and tip included. And when you call they don't return your call. Crooks there. Sad for the area. read more

6th Star goes here. Can't say enough about Flat Rock. Reviews are subjective. But I'm a fatfuhk. So I know good food. I've been here twice. Tried it based on a suggestion. But I've only gotten the Walleye sandwich. It's so juicy and tender. Lightly breaded with a slice of cheese. Lettuce and tomato. Simple but so damn good I'm taking the time to make sure you know about it. My pets haven't eaten yet because I'm yelping about a fish sandwich. They'll live. Eat this walleye sandwich. Eat it. Afterwards just look pensively to the west and wonder what I'm doing. It's ok to cry a little. You're welcome. read more

We were seated immediately since it was early Sunday evening. Our waiter was friendly and checked on us when he was near. Food had good flavor, especially the nachos, could have made a meal out of those, along with the cheesecake dessert. read more

After seeing this promoted on the news awhile back I thought we would try it out for lunch. A short drive from Elkhart and we were pleasantly surprised. We like to try new "mom & pop" places, as they tend to try harder and provide more for the money. The exterior of this place does not give justice to the very spacious and clean interior of the restaurant. The wait staff was friendly and helpful since this was our first time there. We tried the Spinach & Artichoke Dip (looked small but more than adequate); a Blue Gill Basket, and the Smoked Gouda Chicken Cavatappi (the house featured item). All items were good. We had more then enough to share and then plenty of the Cavatappi to take home since it is very filling and somewhat rich. A little less pasta and a bit more chicken and mushrooms would have been a perfect balance. Will probably come back some day to try some of their other items. No complaints. Give it a try. read more

Was there last night with a party of nine. Cannot come up with one bad word to say about the place. Everyone in our party ordered something different and not one complaint. I had the walleye sandwich and it was delicious. I read the other reviews and i think some of the people must have been in a different restrauant. But then there are people you can never satisfy. All nine of us will be back next month. We even know what we are going to order.LOL read more

Make sure you ask for drink prices. Two glasses of red wine $22. That's a lot for a grill bar. Two hamburgers $12. That's a good price. Eating outside, watch for the bees. Food was good. Mash burger was quite good. Make sure you ask for water, otherwise you won't get it. Lots of potential. read more

if i could give 0 stars, i would. FRG treats their employees like complete dog sh*t. i can't speak for other locations, but i've seen within the reviews that they do this in other locations as well. they overwork, they WAY over hire staff, resulting in not being able to pay certain employees the pay they DESERVE for the sacrifices that are made for them on a consistent basis, or given full time hours as promised. multi million dollar companies don't even need 100+ employees at ONE location, but especially when it's a tiny restaurant in a small town. its insanity. if youre not a server or cook in this establishment, you are the dirt on the bottom of their shoe. you won't be given bathroom breaks, or any breaks at all like, EVER. they're aware they don't have to, so they take FULL advantage of that when it comes to their hardest working employees that are the most needed during every second of their shift. an absolute nightmare. coworkers that you clean up after, that don't work even half as hard as you do, and do so little that you wouldn't even notice if they were there or not, will get a raise right in your face just days after begging and pleading with management to get the 90 day raise you were ALREADY promised, and to add, the kitchen is absolutely disgusting, (photo evidence is obtained but we won't stoop as low unless it's needed) and the dishes the customers eat on that are labeled as clean, are not dishes i would let my family eat on. dishes are NOT clean at FRG. but when food is put on top of the crud, how can you possibly see it? (evidence of that as well) if you want to work until you're sweating blood for a tiny paycheck, zero appreciation, and desire to get f*cked over every shift and forced to stay at your shift after seizing on the floor, more than once, work at FRG! PS- im not an ex employee. someone i care for deeply, WAS, and i saw from day one the extreme stress and hostility bestowed onto them and it is NOT minor. this person was told regularly how much better they were at their job than the others by coworkers, and how great they are for all the extra hard work and initiative that's put in, but the treatment by management in return doesn't say that, it's QUITE the opposite. respectfully, f*ck this mess of a place. read more

Edwardsburg now has a bar/grill that is open ! I had the Cobb salad, interesting twist, they added corn. My hubby had onion rings and a chicken sandwich. The onion rings were straight out of the bag, but he very much enjoyed the chicken sandwich. It was clean, and the waitress was very attentive. We will return. 1st Timers here from Goshen looking for something new. This was Sunday @ 4:30pm we were seated immediately and our server Jill was soon to follow. Drinks were a Tangerine Beer $5.00 and an Irish Coffee (Fresh, Thku) w/ Jameson and Baileys $11.00. Soups were Loaded Bake potatoe and Chili. Both were good. Suggest some Cheddar on the side for the chili. Mains were the Gouda Cavatappi with Shrooms, SD Tomatoes, Garlis and Smoked Gouda Sauce. $16.00 Good portion and wife gave it 5/5. I had Blue Gill Basket w/ Onion Rings $26.00 This dish failed 2.5/5. Reasons: 5 THIN Breaded Blue Gill fillets that wouldn't even make a sandwich. I am a fisherman and these I would have thrown back. I don't know what they pay for these but the portion is under served and over priced. Also the Frying Oil was not hot enough and both the fish and o-Rings came out soggy. Recommendation Drop the Blue Gill if pricing is driving the portion and go to a more $$ friendly white fish. Total Bill $70.00 Aprx. ( i.e the fish and Jameson Coffee) Overall Flat Rock is a good place to go but I will lean to the Pub options next time. Will give it another go read more

The Food at this restaurant was very good. If you are looking for a good meal in town this is your place. The problems that I had were that it was way too loud for a dinner restaurant too loud to converse at your table and the kitchen service is slow. I was also disappointed to learn that the only carry out is Pizza. I hope that changes someday. The food was good but not my game for a dinner restaurant....more like a bar. read more

Shout out to Jill Baughman, our server. We brought our daughter for her birthday dinner. Jill was patient as we asked a ton of questions about the menu and what are favorites. We had the pretzels and bar cheese (homemade) not only was it delicious it was hot. Very yummy. My husband tried the smashburger, our daughter decided on the pub steak with rice pilaf and I got the Italian beef with added pepper jack cheese, grilled onions and mushrooms. It was delicious!! Everything was warm. We ended our meal with this amazing chocolate cake!! Thanks Jill of your outstanding customer service. We will be back. read more
