I've been to Flat Iron before and had a fine experience, but my recent visit left a lot to be desired. My wife and I arrived at 12:05 PM, shortly after the restaurant opened at 12:00 PM. However, instead of being greeted with a "hello" or "welcome," we were met with a barrage of comments stating that they weren't open yet. I pointed out that it was, in fact, after 12:00, and their door was open. The lead employee noticed the time, offered a passive apology, but the energy was noticeably different from the initial response we received when we walked in. From what I can remember the food was decent... Nothing rave about but also I was willing to come back... All in all of you would like a side of rudeness and asshole with your food definitely come here!!!! Restaurant theme song knuck if you buck by lil scrappy and field mob While most of the staff did apologize, one employee did not. When I expressed that I was still waiting for an apology from that particular staff member, it never came. Instead, I overheard them mumble under their breath, which I also called out. The atmosphere was clearly off from that point, and it made me uncomfortable. It's unfortunate because I've previously enjoyed dining here, but this experience made me question whether I should continue supporting a place where I didn't feel valued as a customer. While my money alone won't make or break this business, it would bother me to keep giving it to an establishment that doesn't seem to appreciate its patrons. Additionally, I didn't feel confident about the care and energy going into the food they were preparing after such an interaction.

Always love going here for drinks & vegetarian food! I miss the fried Mac & cheese ball they used to have but they have very tasty veggie wings! Don't bother getting the queso, it's just tostada cheese & it was cold. Definitely checkout the bathrooms, so many good stories in there!

Jess, Thomas, Morgan and Gregory are the best thing to ever happen to flat! Great service and INCREDIBLE food! I come here often and am always so grateful for the fast personable service. They put up with ZERO BS so if you see a less savory review, they were probably kicked out for bad behavior or causing issues with staff or patrons. Bartenders and kitchen staff are always very accommodating. If you have not tried the brunch menu you are missing out but everything they serve out of the kitchen or the bar has BDE!! Flatiron 16 out of 10 I'll be back again (and with friends!)

Very personable neighborhood grill with good food and drinks. We were so glad to see them open on new years day when so many other places were closed. The service was still excellent even with the large crowd

This place is actually stealing! I went Saturday 06/14/25 and ordered wings the total was $16.35 cool, today 06/16/25 my card is being charged $21 and some change. I do not recommend this place at all!

I went here with a group of 4 a week ago, excited from seeing their Instagram and Yelp pictures. When my parents arrived, my dad swiftly pointed out a vulgar image on the wall my husband and I had totally missed. I thought it was strange and out of place since there was nothing else like that on the wall that I saw, and they do not seem to advertise this kind of image in their social media. Anyway I sat down and went on to the next thing but it did bother my parents. When I asked the server about the specials, as seen all over their social media page, they stated that there are no specials on weekends. I was disappointed since they all looked soo great and I don't know when I'll be back in town. But the menu had some cool items to try as well. My mom got the fried green tomatoes caprese, loved those! The tacos were also good and very plentiful. They were packed! The ahi salad was fresh and good, and the Philly sandwich was enjoyable as well. My husband did mention tasting char, which may be expected with blackened meat I suppose. I did think the bread used was pretty small though, making the sandwich appear small. The jerk wings had great jerk flavor but could probably use some kind of sauce to pull it together, even if just to dip in. The meal was good and service was friendly.

I came to eat here 9 weeks ago when I was housesitting for one week in the area. Flatiron Restaurant and Bar is located on the corner at Flat Shoals and Glenwood in East Atlanta Village. Free parking is available nearby, on the street and at public parking lots. I came here to eat 9 weeks ago when I was housesitting for one week in the area, just down the street from this bar. Originally, I just wanted to get a beer, and I saw a bunch of people sitting in both of the outside patios, so this seemed like a good place as any. I didn't want to sit outside, though, so I went inside and sat at one of the tables. The interesting decor throughout the bar made me laugh - so eclectic and unexpected. I loved it! One of the employees met me at the table, welcomed me to Flatiron and asked me what drink she could get me. I asked for a bottle of Yuengling, which she brought back within 2 minutes. There were three tables inside with customers, and four customers sitting at the bar. While swigging my beer, I got hungry, so I stopped the server and asked her for a menu, which she quickly brought. I ordered a Smash Burger (6 oz. Angus beef patty, beer braised onions, house pickles, American cheese, with choice of fries or tots) with tater tots. I waited about 25 minutes for my food. Normally, I would've been unhappy for waiting this long, but this was a great place to people watch, as I was very entertained by some of the people who came in after 8 pm. During my wait, I didn't even look at my phone at all. I finally got my food served by one of the two really nice servers/bartenders working that night. This burger was made exactly how I like it - medium, juicy, and great tasting. That about sums it up! The tater tots were perfect also, with them fried crispy crunchy yet not being greasy (ok ... just slightly greasy) with no flavor from the oil. I put a little salt on them and I was in heaven crunching on them. I was full when I was done eating. During my time here, both of the servers/bartenders took turns coming to my table to see if I needed anything, and refilled my water glass many times. They were so nice

Buffalo Wings (10) w Ranch

To see Flatiron still here and thriving is a dope sight to see. I came here about 20 years ago when I was a kid and I remember vividly having some extremely hot wings. That memory alone brought me back years later. I ordered my food to go because it was about 8:30/9 on a Saturday so it was already lit. I ordered 10 Buffalo Wings ($14), curly fries ($4) and the Pablo Crusted Age Cheddar Mac ($6). Given that I called and ordered, I can't really give an exact time it was done but once I got there it was ready and seemed to be ready for a minute before I got there. Once I got back home to eat I was intrigued with how much food I got. The wings were nice in size, there was a huge portion of curly fries and the container my Mac came in was huge. The Buffalo wings weren't as spicy as I would've liked but the size of them made up for it. They were cooked very well. If they were a bit more spicy I would've gave them a perfect rating. The curly fries were delicious. Crispy, seasoned just right and it was a lot of them! I thoroughly enjoyed the Mac. The crusted age cheddar was just the beginning. Once i took a spoonful/ bite into the Mac I was introduced to that rich and flavorful cheddar cheese which was seasoned and hot. All in all, Flatiron has some amazing food and seems like a vibe inside the restaurant/ bar as well. I'll be back to get an experience inside next time.

Great food at a great dive bar. Chef Thomas was nice enough to make a vegan version of their breakfast special for me. It was was delicious. I can't wait to brunch here again!

Gin and Tonic

It was late and Argosy was only serving pizza. All I wanted was a quick snack - thank god for Flatiron. I ordered a gin and tonic and waited for my Flatiron curly fries. Not the best fries and a pretty long wait for just fries... but really hit the spot after a couple of drinks. PRO: coolest spot to people-watch while sipping on your drink. Will need to come back again during the day for a real meal, but for now, Flatiron seems to be a typical American bar.

Love this spot! Dive bar vibes but with great food and service. Definitely a new staple for me

Suctopus
Daija B.

This was a nice place to get a drink and a bite! I wanted the spicy fried chicken sandwich, but sadly they were out of it (I visited around 1pm). So, I ordered the Suctopus burger instead and omgggg it was SO good! Very juicy and flavorful. I just was not a fan of the cheese, but still good! I loved the spice kick. The curly fries were very tasty as well. I also had the Georgia Peach cocktail. It was really good but very light. My boyfriend had the quesadilla and stated that it was really good, as well. The waitress was very nice. Parking was a little difficult. Overall, this was a really cool and laid back place for a nice drink and a good burger.

Joystick Gamebar looks like it's been here a long time. There are two main areas: The bar is in the main area where people enter, and it has a many old school games that were commonly found in video game arcades from the 1970s through 1990s, and there is another big room with lots of chairs and couches, and a lot more quirky decorations scattered throughout the room. Outside food was catered, so I wasn't aware that Joystick Gamebar also sold food. The video games were fun. Although one of our directors brought lots of rolls of quarters, one of the managers made it so that all of our employees were able to play the games without inserting any quarters. This was probably a great thing for us, since I noticed most of my colleagues were really awful at playing video games. One of my favorite video games, Galaga, was available, so, after getting killed early in the game a few times, I ended up being on the high scores list! Had a fun time!

The service was great until the rest of the city showed up, then it slowed down considerably. But the staff were really nice, they did the best they could. Ordered 10 wings: half buffalo-lemon pepper/half lemon pepper, 5 wings in Korean-buffalo with a side of chili cheese fries, and 2 Coors Banquets (cuz we're classy like that. Food came out probably 15 min after and I was ready to dig in. These wings were pretty hyped and with anything popular, I'm always worried I'm going to be disappointed. But OMG these wings are worthy of their hype. The flavor of their sauces is incredible and they hit that desired balance of crispy and juicy. The meat falls off the bone. Tell you what, I'll definitely be back. I've also heard great things about their karaoke nights so that's going on my list as well

The wings were all well seasoned, and even the dry rub wings didn't taste dry. It tasted tender and juicy and I've never experienced that before with dry rub wings. We ordered the lemon pepper buffalo wings, buffalo wings, and Korean bbq buffalo wings and a side of fries. Our favorite was the buffalo wings. It had the right balance of juiciness and flavor. I wouldn't recommend the Korean bbq wings since it didn't have enough tangyness to it and didn't stand out. The French fries are a must order. The fries were so crunchy, and they were still crunchy even towards the end when we were almost finished eating. We arrived 30 minutes before they opened on a Friday and there were already people waiting in the lot which was crazy! It started raining while we were waiting in line and the line got even longer. If you're planning to try The Local, I would recommend coming on a regular weekday or come earlier if you're coming on the weekend because the line is crazy. There is some seating inside and outside the bar. We got there early enough to swipe a table. There were people standing and waiting for a table while waiting for their orders. Service was excellent! Tables are first come first serve. Plenty of parking in the back parking lot. I wouldn't wait in the rain for this but it was definitely worth a try!

From the outside, you wouldn't be able to tell how large this place truly is. That's 3 levels: main floor with bar and high counter seating. Level two was more lounge, booth, and bar seating. Level three had lounge and a back area bar seating. We were told the lounge seats were by reservation only so we headed back to the main floor and grab an open table. Each floor had its own vibe and dedicated playlist/dj. The service was super slow to start. The same folks that were working the bar were also waiting the tables, so it took about 15 minutes to even be acknowledged and get waters and a menu. Hookah was through a separate vendor and was $60. We order the wings and fried shrimp. Both came with fries and were really good, tasted fresh, and seasoned well. The cocktails were strong, though my lemon drop arrived lukewarm so I and to transfer ice from my water to cool it down. Late night menu range from $17-19, cocktails were $15-20.
