The Vegetable Pikira was phenomenal! 10/10 would recommend. The green salad was pitiful 0/10 wouldn't rec. 'Twas major mistake. The Madra chicken was decent. 7 spicy is a little too hot. Once I finally figured out what the name of the restaurant was (all I could remember was Taste, and I knew that wasn't right), we called for a Friday night reservation. Staff was more than accommodating when our group size changed at the last minute, and greeted us with a smile (though at 6pm we didn't need a reservation). But as the meal progressed other diners began arriving, and by the time we left the restaurant was almost full. The food was fantastic! They have two separate menus - one for vegetarian and the other for meatetarian. Naan was perfectly charred, lassi was sweet and creamy, rice was beautifully aromatic, chutney was exploding with flavor, our server was comfortable to suggest items (before I even had to ask) AND he brought us a free appetizer (extras from the kitchen, apparently.) We ordered lots to try and ended up with plenty to take home as well. I'm sure it'll be just as good the second time around! The only (very minor) negative was the decor, it was somewhat random, but still in a wonderful kitschy way. I do still prefer to gaze at the Jaipur mural than almost anywhere else in town... but it's hard to beat a wall-sized mural with tigers. Flavors is a fantastic addition to the scene. I hope they stick around for many years to come. But with awesome food, and very nearly better service I don't see how there's any question of that likelihood. We stopped here at 4:15 on a Friday afternoon after attempting to go to Mother India (which was closed from 3-5). I'm really glad it was closed because I checked out Yelp and Flavors came up. The service was prompt and the food was the best Indian food I've had. There is an entire vegetarian menu! We ordered some vegetable somosa, naan, and I had the Navratan korma. The sauces were spicy and delicious and the appetizers were cheap and hearty. A whole basket of naan is only $1.50! You can order it plain, buttered, or garlic. I recommend the garlic. The somosa was great and filling. My korma was heavenly. It had nine vegetables and fresh apples. You can order your food mild to hot and I ordered mine medium. It was a perfect combination of spices and heat. The dish came with basmati rice. We were stuffed and decided not to order dessert, but to our surprise, the waiter brought us a complimentary dessert which we were told were "cheese balls.". I don't know what they were entirely made of, but they were breaded and served in a sweet butter, cinnamon, and sugar sauce. In all this is now my favorite Indian restaurant, and it's close to being my favorite restaurant in Omaha! read more

At $12.99 (possibly $13.99) per person, you get a wide variety of options at the buffet, in addition to a small dessert portion at the end. The food seems very authentic and home-cooked, and I was really impressed to find such a variety of dishes at the buffet. I'm disappointed after multiple tries, the dine is much better but the take out always has some issue or the other I ordered Paneer butter masala chilli paneer , onion kulcha and paneer paratha. The breads were good, the chilli paneer had absolutely no salt or any flavour. I've chosen the most spicy level for the paneer butter masala and it was the saltiest thing I've ever put in my mouth I don't know if they got confused spice for salt. I'm probably gonna try once more because usually their meat dishes are good. read more

Best Indian Food in Omaha, seriously! For lunch buffet or dinner, just the best. It took me 3 years to figure this one out. Yes it beats mother india, curri, jaipur, maharaja, paradise biryani pointe, and a few others that have slipped my mind at the moment. The only thing to warn is that the fresh lime soda is more on the salty side than sweet or tart and it comes w/ lemon's not limes. Naan is the freshest to order here, and the only place I have yet to find paneer naan in omaha. They also just started selling some alcohol, including 3 beers from India! Only issue is metered parking m-f until 5pm, but fairly cheap, maybe $1 an hour, I think. Also we were pretty full even splitting one entree and naan for dinner. I had to go downtown to get my marriage license (woo hoo!) and since I don't make it dt near as often as I would like, I wanted to try Flavors. I've heard good things about it recently, and am told that it was closed for a while for repairs/renovations, but it's hopping now! I went just before the lunch rush and I'm glad I got seated before a tidal wave of people arrived. I don't do a lot of buffets, but the smells wafting from the chafing dishes were enchanting, so I hoped for the best. For the most part, I wasn't disappointed. There is a selection of various dishes that changes, probably daily. The Chicken Korma was my favorite. It was mild, but had very pronounced notes of coriander and cumin. There was a lamb dish I didn't recognize (can't remember the name) that was good but was a bit heavy on the cinnamon. Very good curries on the buffet, I'd suggest trying any of them. My main complain with the food was the naan... it's simple but it has to be done right. I don't know if it was a result of having sat out too long or there was a problem with the cooking itself, but the naan I had was gooey and pasty. It had nice char marks on it, but wasn't pleasant to eat. The decor is modern, and isn't overt. The design and vibe fit the restaurant, but it isn't trying too hard to say "Hey! This is an Indian restaurant!" like so many do. They do have limited hours so call ahead if you're not going around a typical American mealtime. read more

This is a wonderful Gem in the downtown area. Stopped in for lunch with some co-workers. They have a fabulous! FABULOUS buffet for lunch. 4 steps into the door we are greeted by a friendly person seating us and directing us to the buffet. Multiple selections of all the types Starting with sauces, rice choices, veggies, vegetarian options, chicken tika, and some desert options. Flavors has changed hands and undergone a renovation since I last dined there in 2012. The result is a nicer looking dining space, and a more put together lunch buffet. Also, alcohol is now offered there as well. The menu and the lunch buffet are roughly the same as I remember, except instead of $8 for the lunch buffet, it is $12. For lunch, your only option is to eat the buffet. Unfortunately for small eaters or someone who might have come and already eaten so you are looking for something small or just dessert, you cannot order something like an appetizer during the lunch hours. That's disappointing to me. Also, the price increase is a little steep for me. They do have a nice variety of foods (~10 choices) and all were fresh (not dried up or old tasting) but I am not a big enough eater to make the $12 price tag worth while. I got one plate of food which I feel should have costed $6-8 somewhere else. This is precisely why I would like ordering from the main menu as an option. I think for dinner they still are good, but the prices here are steeper than competitors in Omaha. This is a good place near my house to frequent, but I would not make a special trip from the other side of town to eat here. Overall, I would give them 4 stars for dinner, and 3 for lunch. Family of four for my parents' anniversary. Fantastic. Some of the best service we've ever had in town. Tried several entrees and appetizers. Didn't care for the fried cauliflower but my mom liked it. Lightly fried chicken appetizer was perfect. Wanted to try out the lunch buffet and see what all the talk is about. Located on the corner of 19th and Farnam . Flavors is not a large restaurant, about 18 tables in all. Greeted pretty quickly upon entering. Drink orders taken and then off to the buffet. The buffet area is actually a bit tight, so if it is crowded, it will take a bit more time......but worth it. The buffet line is not overly large, but does provide you a good selection of dishes. There are about 14-15 primary items on the line to include soup, salad, three different types of rice and a variety of other tasty Indian dishes along with lots and lots of fresh naan. There were also three desserts on the line today to include a carrot pudding (actually quite tasty), mango custard and kheer (a rice pudding like dish)....all pretty decent. Owner engaged me on my third or fourth trip to the line and asked me how I liked the food and was it my first time there...."yes the food was very good and it was indeed our first time at the restaurant"........then he asked how did you find out about us........"saw several good reviews on Yelp and wanted to try it out" Servers also kept our drinks full and the plates cleared from the table. We were both pleased with the taste and selection on the buffet and the price is reasonable (10 or so dollars for the buffet, not counting the drinks.) My bill for two buffets and a drink after tax was $24.67. Worth giving a try for those who love Indian food or are looking to try for the first time. read more

The man said he was sorry but he was busy. The buffet has gone way downhill in my opinion. Choices look unappetizing with very watery sauces. Chicken tikka and saag paneer were passable but not good. The service was also wonderful! I would like to point out that they played 4 Taylor Swift songs in a row while we were eating. While I love T Swift, I am not sure that everyone else wants to listen to her and Katy Perry while eating dinner. read more
