I had the fried chicken - just the right honey and heat, and the biscuits were fluffy, buttery heaven. We were stuffed but Jorge and Matt (one of the owners) dropped off a complimentary order of apple donuts with raspberry jam. I shouldn't be surprised but the chunks of real apple in the donuts - wow. I don't know how they serve food this good in a location this beautiful and such reasonable prices. I guarantee, though, we'll be back for dinner and be regular customers in the future.

The staff acted warm and welcoming but I felt that they were mostly just reciting the scripts. Still, because of its history, food and location, I recommend you to try this restaurant when visiting DC!

A Culinary Gem! My experience at Flavorture after the Pride Festival in DC on June 8 was nothing short of exceptional. After a day of festivities, hunger struck, and we stumbled upon Flavorture in Woodley Park. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality, setting the tone for a memorable dining experience. The ambiance was inviting, and the staff, from the employees outside to those inside, were incredibly friendly and attentive. It was evident that customer satisfaction was a top priority. Now, let's talk about the food - oh my goodness, where do I begin? The appetizer of Brussels sprouts was a revelation. Cooked to perfection, they were undoubtedly the best I've ever tasted. Each bite was bursting with flavor and left me craving more. For my main dish, I opted for the crab fried rice (photo attached), and it did not disappoint. The combination of delicate crab meat with perfectly seasoned rice with a little spicy sauce on top was a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate. My children thoroughly enjoyed their dishes (so much so that they forgot to take picture before diving in). They devoured the vegan pepper steak and coconut curry tofu over rice, which were also met with high praise. Overall, Flavorture exceeded my expectations in every way possible. It's rare to find a restaurant where both the service and food are outstanding, but Flavorture manages to excel in both areas effortlessly. I recently celebrated my friend birthday at Flavorture, a fantastic black-owned establishment. The culinary experience was absolutely divine. We kicked off the evening with their signature cocktail, the 24TH STREET, which blended Tequila, strawberry, orange liqueur, and lemon for a delightful start to our celebration. For appetizers, we couldn't resist the CHARBROILED OYSTERS with Cajun garlic butter. They were so mouthwateringly good that we ordered two servings. Moving on to our main courses, we indulged in a feast of flavors. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked, and the 10 CHEESE MAC AND CHEESE was a creamy, cheesy delight. The Grilled lobster and blue crab scampi were outstanding, and the sides, including the cornbread and ROASTED BALSAMIC BRUSSELS, complemented the mains excellently. As if that wasn't enough, we ended our meal on a sweet note with the PEACH COBBLER BREAD PUDDING served with a scoop of ice cream. But it wasn't just the food that made the evening memorable; the staff was exceptional. To top it off, we had the privilege of meeting the owners, who were incredibly friendly. AH-MAZING!! A great way to celebrate my birthday!! The experience started at the front door with the wonderful and welcoming glass of sangria we were offered by the hostess. The other host, Skip, was sooo pleasant and just a burst of good, positive energy. Overall good vibes and great ambiance -- good date night location as well as a girls night out! Our server Celeste was awesome as she made recommendations and was very knowledgeable about the menu. She was really great! We loved the drinks and the special birthday items that were on the table just for me! They included a bottle of wine, candle, and a card!! I had the lamb chops - they were incredibly tender and oh so FLAVORFUL!! That daggon 10 cheese Mac and cheese will NEVER be forgotten -- WOW!! Yummy!! And the the Brussels sprouts -- OMGGGG!!! I had an amazing dining experience at Flavorture! I was in the mood for fried branzino, but noticed the menu only offered it grilled. When I asked if it was possible to have it fried, the team went above and beyond to accommodate my request. Not only did they deliver a perfectly fried branzino, but it was one of the most flavorful dishes I've had in a long time! The service was equally impressive--attentive, friendly, and genuinely focused on ensuring I had a great experience.
