    Hot Mess Tots
    Leroy R.

Decided to stop by for a quick drink and bite to eat. It's pretty nice inside- reminds me of a dive bar, but better. The service was nice and quick and they offer happy hour deals daily. I ordered the haymaker punch which was really good. Strong and flavorful but not too sweet. I also prefer the hot mess tots and they were anything but a hot mess. They were pretty much tater tots tossed in bacon bits and shredded cheese with a side of sauce. Nothing special. The bright side- the tots were piping hot. I'd recommend for an evening happy hour drink but maybe try something other than the tots.

I actually stumbled into this bar late on a weekday night. They were the only bar only on the block and ended up being the perfect after-dinner spot. My date and I sat at the bar and ordered drinks. There were only a few other patrons so the energy felt relaxed and intimate. We were able to catch a few minutes of a Women's World Cup game, which was awesome since it didn't feel like a traditional sport bar. The lighting was low, the bar was backlight with greenery, and the cocktail selection was unique. I liked everything about this bar and I'll definitely post another visit when I'm on H. St.

Please do yourself a favor and get the truffle fries here. We also got high noon and a beer here. Service was friendly and vibe was chill :). No happy hour though nice nice drink selection.

I made sure I checked in here to get the reminder to leave the review. Honestly was just walkin around and stumbled on this bar. Seemed cool so walked in. Bar was packed but there was seating elsewhere around. Simply asked the female bartender if they had a happy hour menu as most bars do..I didn't think it was that far fetch of a question...but she did. She made a joke about me inquiring about happy hour as if I couldn't afford a regular priced drink. I was overdue for a drink so I brushed her unprofessionalism off and ordered a drink ..it was basic but ehhh ..she def will ruin your customer retention with such ill behavior Signed, A person who will not be returning

Annie is a gem and 100% the reason why I went back two nights in a row. The dumplings are excellent and bursting with flavor. The nachos are also very good. Wouldn't necessarily get the tots again, but the portion is quite large. It's a cozy little spot with attentive servers and great drinks.

Annie literally remembered us from more than 2 years ago!!!!!! Still my fav painkiller - tasty and strong. Service is obviously impeccable. Ambiance is changing - the menu is new - feels a bit more boogie and I'm not mad about it :)

The bartender/servicer was by himself but he made sure everyone is served with great services. Five stars for him. We order mess totes, buffalo wings and hot honey shrimp. All delicious. Nice small bar, with good atmosphere.

Very very loud. Almost annoying loud. Somewhat of a hip place. Seating is normal for the buildings on the rest of the street. The pour of the Tito's into their mules is more than fair. The food came out fast (just wings) they were normal nothing special. Each time I needed a another mule the bartender was right there. They have bartenders here not just beertenders.

Shrimp and pork dumplings and Wifey cocktail. Dumbo kings were great! Sweet and spicy taste.

Service was amazing when I went. I arrived literally at 10PM when their kitchen closed and my bartender still let me sneak an order of dumplings in. It was so worth it! My first time here and glad I found it. Cute cocktail bar with speakeasy-ish vibes with reasonable prices. Will def be back!

Loved these cocktails, especially because they had green chartreuse which is hard to find at a bar. They made amazing cocktails with it and had creative options you don't find most places. Definitely will go back.

I live in the neighborhood and finally came in to checkout Haymaker. The service was friendly and attentive and they made great recommendations on cocktails and food. I had the pork slides and truffle fries and ate them so fast because they were AMAZING! The cocktail I had was a "Wifey" and it was very light and refreshing. The atmosphere was great too, the lights were low and there was music but it wasn't so loud it made it hard to talk. I'll definitely be back!

It has a cool vibe, dark and cozy. The food is outstanding for a bar, great cocktails and the bartenders are very nice and attentive here you won't be waiting forever for a glass of wine. The food menu could have more food options and also some desert.

We arrived around midnight Our ID's were checked at the front and were told that last call was at 12:15am despite the bar closing at 1am. It was extremely humid and hot (like even more humid and hot than the outside at that time). All of the tables/booths were closed off, so only bar seating was available. There was only 1 bartender and 1 barkeeper, with the bartender being clearly overwhelmed. He stated that he couldn't make any complicated drinks (likely implying the specialty cocktails), so we just ordered simple classic cocktails including an old fashioned and gin & tonic. I was surprised that last call occurred 45 minutes prior to closing, seeming to apply to both food and drinks (given the bartender's comment). Despite this, I was surprised we were even let in if last call was about to occur. Didn't spend much time here but please see the attached for menu photos.

The lights were dimmed, which gave the restaurant a cozy vibe I almost fell asleep lol. Since the restaurant is still fairly new, it wasn't too crowded, which made the experience even better. One thing I really liked was that the menu is chef-curated, so the dishes are served as-is and thoughtfully put together. You can really tell there's intention behind the flavors and presentation. For drinks, we ordered a smoked Old Fashioned and a chocolate martini for me, which was absolutely delicious. For appetizers, we tried the Wagyu sliders, and they were juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. For our entrées, my boyfriend ordered the lamb shank over mashed potatoes. The meat literally fell off the bone, and the mashed potatoes soaked up all the lamb juices, giving them so much flavor. I ordered the salmon with broccolini and added chimichurri and garlic butter sauce on top. I loved that they asked how I wanted my salmon cooked. I ordered mine medium well, and it came out perfect. The skin was crispy, theand the broccolini was soft and cooked just right. Our waiter was fun, attentive, and really helpful when it came to choosing drinks and entrées. Fast forward to May 2024--I see a post advertising a preview night showcasing some experimental cocktails they've been working on. I ordered two cocktails which absolutely scratched that "unique cocktail" itch. The first containing Duck Fat Sochu, plum, Vermouth, Bourbon, and Mushroom tincture. It was extremely well balanced and I loved every sip--somewhat similar to a Manhattan but also a refreshing departure. Last, the Sorghum Whiskey is one of the most unique Old Fashioned riffs I've ever had. A very distinct flavor, and again, very well balanced. To top it all off, these unique cocktails were very fairly priced at $14 each. Leighton (the bartender) was very knowledgeable and did a fantastic job of explaining the menu and providing insight into the ingredients. While the experimental menu is currently only available on Wednesdays / Thursdays, I was excited to hear that they're working on turning the space into a more permanent "cocktail nerd" space--think a separate hidden entrance, seperate menu available on weekends, food pairings, etc. I'll definitely be back!
