Julie is so amazing at what she does and is so friendly. I love that her shop is a private suite and is not shared with other artists. It makes the appointment more of a personalized experience. update! Came in for a 18 month touch up as my previous cover up started showing a bit. As usual, Julie worked her magic! She took her time to draw and align my brows and even stretched the ends a bit. I love visiting her not only because she's the only person i trust, but because of her bubbly friendly personality! The session took about 2.5 hours, which is normal from start to finish. We stuck with the combo ombré for that soft natural touch. Absolutely in love! Julie is one of my favourite people in the world. She and her skills...absolute game-changer. (Honestly. Every single photo I've taken since my first appointment has just been a testament to Julie's skill.) If you don't think that your life can change for the better with beautiful brows, you need to see Julie NOW because you probably haven't been going to the right places. Though, that being said, she's very popular and is constantly doing appointments, so you might have to wait a couple months before getting your brows done. So I actually found Julie through Yelp. I was mostly curious about the process and whether it would be right for me. Julie responded quickly, answered all my questions, and by that time, I had been convinced that I wanted to try it, and that I wanted to try it with Julie (based on all the pictures I had seen on Yelp and her Instagram page). I got an appointment time and I was so, so nervous. For the very first session, Julie had me leave my eyebrows to grow out so she could get an idea of what they looked like naturally, so that she could follow that general shape. Then, she carefully drew where she would be drawing in my brows. She constantly asked me whether I liked the shape. I thought my brows looked okay, but Julie, the perfectionist that she is, kept fixing the drawing of my eyebrows slightly. Finally, we both ended up with something we loved, and she started on the microblading procedure. She went over what she was doing at each step, and the process was painless! I was so excited to see my brows by the end, and when I finally got to see them, I was so, so happy. I have always had sparse brows, so even shaping them with waxing or threading doesn't help at all. But when I got to see my new brows, I was SHOCKED that someone like me could even have nice brows!! So thankful for Julie. She also went over the aftercare steps, and provided the things you'd need (aquaphor, witch hazel, the visors), and made sure I understood the healing process. Even so, I panicked a little the first time and texted her to make sure everything was going okay, and she responded quickly and didn't seem to mind at all! I've since been back to see her for two touch-up appointments, and everything has looked swell the whole time. One thing I also love about Julie is that she's really in it to make people happy and make sure their brows look nice, not just for the money per se. I contacted her sometime in November to ask about getting a touch-up appointment in December and she told me to send her some pictures of my brows because she had some clients coming in whose brows still looked great. I sent her the pictures, and she said there was no need to come in so soon and estimated that I might need a touch-up probably in a year. I always am so excited for my touch-up appointments, I can't wait! This is probably my longest review to date, but it's really 100000% because Julie is THE BEST. I know this review is long overdue but let me start this by saying that Julie is AWESOME. If you are here because you are looking for the best person to do your microblading, you've found her!! I have been contemplating on getting my eyebrows microbladed for a few of years. I was scared because, at that time, it was still a pretty new procedure, and I wanted to make sure I've done my fair share of research--not only about the procedure but the right aesthetician with a very reasonable price. Julie had very competitive rates, and as you've seen with the pictures of her clients, she's really good at what she does. My first session with her lasted about 2 1/2 hours. The bigger chunk of that time was spent making sure I loved the shape of my eyebrows. She double, triple checked to make sure I was comfortable with the shape, the arch, and the color. The blading itself didn't take as long and it wasn't as painful as I'd thought it would be. After 8 weeks, I came back to get a retouch. My second session lasted about 1 1/2 hour. It's been a month and a half since my second session, and I can tell you that getting microbladed was one of the best decisions I've made. I've gotten so many compliments on how on fleek my brows are! I have to do a bit of filling in some areas, but overall, getting ready has been cut down--I don't have to draw my whole eyebrows anymore, and it's a lot easier to clean up. What a great experience! I did months of research for microblading artists around the Bay Area. I followed multiple Instagram accounts and even considered flying down to SoCal to get a celebrity microblading artist to do my brows! My main concern was how microblading looks on lighter skin, because 95% of pictures I was finding online from other artists only showed results of women with dark brown or black hair. I have brown/blond hair and was really concerned about how it would look. Julie was one of the only ones that I could find that had examples of brows with a lighter color, so I decided to go with her, even though she is in Fremont, and I'm in Emeryville, which is about an hour drive each way. She was great and listened to all of my concerns! She was also very honest about what she would think would look best. The entire process was pretty painless. I really enjoyed chatting with Julie, she is so personable and I enjoyed her company. Pro Tip: If you are addicted to caffeine like I am, make sure you make an appointment earlier in the morning, so you can get your Starbucks fix (which is right next door) immediately after. Also, make sure you eat something beforehand. Julie can do an amazing job and completely transform your eyebrows to be absolutely amazing, but the end result is 75% up to you and how you handle the healing process. I ended up going back 3 times, but the third visit was because I totally messed up my brows during the 2nd healing process, completely my fault. The first session, I followed all directions, healed great. The second time, after I went in for a touch up, I accidentally got shampoo on my eyebrows on day 7 of healing and totally messed them up. So I had to go back a 3rd time but this was totally my fault and not the norm. My tips- wash your hair the day of- so you don't have to risk getting your brows wet for a few days. When you finally have to wash your hair again, I recommend taping a few layers of folded saran wrap over your brows to protect them from getting wet. Keep them moisturized with Aquaphor so you don't get any scabbing, and tape bandaids over the arches when you sleep (she can show you this technique!). Keep them clean and away from dust and sweat. You basically have an open wound on your face so you need to be mindful of that. Most importantly- don't schedule this process immediately before an event like a wedding or big trip, make sure you have enough buffer time for healing and needed touchups! Its been 3 weeks since my final touchup and my brows are fully healed. I am SO SO SO happy about the final result and it was TOTALLY worth the money and healing process! It takes less time for me to get ready in the morning and I feel confident leaving the house without makeup. I am leaving for a trip to Guatemala next month and super stoked that I don't have to worry about my brows while I'll be hiking, swimming and facing so many different weather elements. This is life changing! I recommend Julie to anyone who is considering microblading. read more

I just got the micro blade/ shading combo, literally just yesterday so they are super dark than what I expected. I have read that this is normal, so I will be patient. Julie has a great personality and made feel very comfortable with the whole process. A numbing cream was placed on my brows and when she started the micro blading procedure I did not feel any pain. When she reapplied the numbing cream to start the shading, now that stung ouch! Part of the shading process was painful, but it didn't last long. Over all I am very happy with Julie, her personality, accommodating me with an earlier time convenient for me, and her skill of course! I left this review on the actual Salon's page, but here goes again :) Even though everything happened last minute, I booked an appointment on Friday with Julie for 3d Combo Brows Touchup in the morning and she was able to squeeze me in after work. I came in looking like a hot mess after a long day of work (not including the wild times spent in traffic) and Julie helped me settle in, no problem. She was super meticulous from beginning til end and I honestly could not thank her enough. Prior to me showing up, we exchanged pictures so that she can make a decision on how the procedure would happen and how much it would cost. Since my appointment was last minute, I did not pay a deposit of $100? $150?, but this is usually required for all clients to do so in the case clients do not show and ends up wasting Julie's time. Now let me tell you, she is DEFINITELY one of THE best [eyebrow] artists that I have ever met! Not only did she make the whole process so fun and easy to comprehend, but she was super professional and made sure that the end product would be nothing less than perfect. Coming in, I had my eyebrows previously done by another girl and I was not entirely happy with the end results [I was kind of upset originally since that girl was slightly unprofessional when it came to her work ethics, but that's another story]. Anyway, Julie and I discussed the changes that she would be making to beautify my eyebrows when she started shaping them to make sure that we were both on the same page. During the process, I was only numbed once due to my ridiculously high tolerance for pain (I don't recommend this method for anyone who flinches at the sight of needles), and I even ended up napping for a slight bit when she was working on me!
