I booked with Flawless Faces to get my hair and make-up done for my Engagement Party the weekend of July 4th. I had been looking for a place that could take me at 8:30am since the party was a brunch and FF was more than accommodating. I got there a little before 8:30 and Ashley, my hair & make-up artist, was finishing up someone. She started working on me right on time and got me out of there right at 10 like I needed to be. Ashley was so nice, easy-going, and personable. She asked my opinion on a few things regarding my hair & make-up and the end result was amazing. Wedding party of 5 and 2 moms made beautiful for our big day. Carina and Michelle came to the venue and we spent all morning getting pretty together, listening to music, and just being girls. My youngest son is getting married soon so I made sure to come back to Flawless Faces My oldest son was married a few years ago and we used Flawless Faces for the entire bridal party, moms, stepmom and grandmother. Not sure how they handled all of us, but sure enough, they worked their magic and we were all very happy with tons of compliments. We all had our own style, but from the photos, it shows that we all were very polished with the same/perfect amount of makeup that lasted the entire day. I am a very harsh critic and never like my makeup when someone else does it. Not only did I love it, but it lasted. My skin is very oily and makeup seems to migrate south and wear off. In my opinion, this place was an unprofessional bridal make-up factory. Met with the owner - she wasn't able to give me what I wanted, after discussing w/ her my ideas, she didn't even want to hear it because she was a "professional" and knew exactly what she's talking about. When you are paying top dollar - customer service is # 1. I don't care who you are. Flawless faces wasn't about me, aka the bride or making the bride happy. I hired Flawless Faces to do the hair and makeup for my recent wedding. I scheduled a hair and makeup trial, and really liked what Jo and Sarah did. They looked at pictures that I brought and listened to what I wanted and were able to recreate my ideal look very well. I don't wear a lot of makeup and have low-maintenance hair, and they paid attention to that and created a look that was "me" -- but better! I loved that. Then, for the wedding, I hired them to do my hair and makeup as well as that of three of my bridesmaids and my now-husband's mother. Once again, Jo did a great job and everyone's makeup looked beautiful. She was right on time and super sweet. The problem was that Sarah, the woman who did my hair during the hair trial, wasn't the person who showed up the day of the wedding. That was Michelle -- someone I'd never worked with before. Fortunately, I had pictures on my phone from the hair trial, so she used those to try to recreate what someone else had done. She did a fine job, and while it wasn't exactly what I wanted or had done during the hair trial, my hair looked good and I was overall pretty happy with it. She was willing to make changes after the fact, too, until I was happy with the result. I was not happy, however, about the fact that the salon sent the wrong person to do my hair. Your wedding day is stressful enough already, and you pay for a hair and makeup trial to alleviate some of that stress. The hair trial turned out to be pointless. At $65, that matters. After the wedding, I emailed Carina, the owner, to tell her what had happened, and she was nice about it but basically said it was my fault since I'd mentioned the wrong name in an email I'd sent her. That should have been her job to check, not mine; I had enough things to remember a few weeks before my wedding. I also didn't like the fact that she didn't respond to my emails, which meant that I had to call her and check that she'd seen my changes. read more

The absolute WORST experience with wedding hair. I, a bridesmaid, had to redo my entire hair. I gave the hairstylist a chance to redo it and she basically drenched it in hairspray and made my hair so frizzy and helmet like. The curls were all backwards and the tease and Bobby pins fell immediately. I had to pay someone later to try to redo my hair before the wedding, but there was so much hairspray that not much could be done. The hairstylist saw my redo my hair and still asked to take a picture for her portfolio. I reminded her that I did my own hair. I also had to redo almost everyone's hair in the party because their hair fell out-including the bride. We all have the hairstylist a chance to touch up our hair, but she ended up snapping on the maid of honor. The makeup artist, on the other hand, was absolutely fabulous!!! Could go on and on about her technique and customer service. Everyone looked and felt so flawless! Would give 5 starts to her!! read more

This is not a review of their makeup skills, but rather their customer service, which is TERRIBLE. I have been by their booths three times over the last 2 months: two bridal shows and one food tasting event, and they have always been rude, nonchalant, unhelpful, and stuck up. Maybe they treat paying customers well, but they could care less about potential clients. They are short with answers, and act like I'm bugging them, even though they are set up at events where they are supposed to be answering questions! They all act like they don't want to be there and that I am not worth their time. The first time I let it go because I thought they were busy. But at the second bridal event, they still had attitude. And at the third event, there was one girl, and i was the only person at the table, and I still got attitude. I am not going to patronize a business when they act like they don't even want to talk to me. My friend was looking at them and I told her not to waste her time. I am telling all brides that I know and I hope that some Yelpers will not fall for these other reviews either and really look at their business acumen. Skills may be one thing, but not worth it if they can't provide decent customer service. read more

ZERO STARS After scheduling a bridal hair and makeup trial months before, I promptly arrived for my appointment and was greeted by the owner Carina. The studio was darling. Carina seemed rushed. The website states that a bridal trial takes the time to "customize" and create a look based on the needs of the individual. I did not feel like she practiced that, instead the end result was something that she rushed to do. I have had my makeup done professionally before and Carina did not practice hygienic standards. She touched her phone and luggage; then proceeded to touch my face. She also took a brow groomer to my eyebrows before asking me. I did not have my skin properly prepped and there were no steps taken to prolong the wear of the makeup. The conversation fell flat after she made a few comments about my lips needing an injection (It's Orange County after all). I felt like I was on an assembly line, nothing about the experience was worth the money, they do not specialize what the bride requests. I do not feel that for my wedding I would want to trust her to make me feel my best. After she took photos of the finished look and she made sure to remind me of my double chin. I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere for a specialized experience. You want to feel and look your best on your wedding day this was not the studio that I would rely on for that! Ashley was friendly and talented; she made me feel comfortable and took her time to see what would look best for my hair type and length. She made me feel better about my finished look. After all was said and done I spent $150 with a $20 tip to feel bad about myself. My Fiance saw the end result and told me that he thought I looked better without the mask of makeup. My mother thought I looked aged and ridiculous. On the bright side it was worth the money to know I will not be hiring Flawless Faces for my wedding day. read more

I wish I could give Flawless Faces no stars at all. I booked in-studio make-up application appointments for my mom and I the day of my engagement party. Carina confirmed my appointments via email. When we arrived at the studio, the doors were locked and no one was there. We texted, called, and emailed with no response at all. Hours later, Carina did respond via email and try to fix the situation. Unfortunately, it was too little too late. Flawless Faces was recommended to me by wedding florist, and I was not disappointed. From the trial to the actual wedding day, I could not ask for anything better. Marissa did our hair, and she was SO patient during my trial. I couldn't figure out if I wanted my hair up, down, half up/half down, etc., and Marissa took the time to try out all sorts of options to make sure that I was really happy with my final choice. On the wedding day itself, I ended up changing my mind about the bridesmaids hairstyle at the last minute, and Marissa accommodated that as well, even though it meant she had to start all over. She told me that it was my day, and that she would do whatever needed to be done to make sure I was happy and that everything was perfect - LOVE that!!! Our makeup was done by Cara. Originally, I was referred specifically to Carina, but she was already booked for an out of town wedding that same weekend. After a few email & text exchanges, Carina suggested I connect with Cara. Although I was initially hesitant, my first meeting/trial with Cara alleviated all of my concerns. She was super friendly, listened to everything I told her I wanted/didn't want, and gave great suggestions about what she thought would look best. On the actual wedding day, both Marissa and Cara showed up early, set up shop, and worked their magic! My Mom and bridesmaids commented that they had never looked or felt better! About a week after the wedding my husband and I took part in a post-wedding photoshoot, and Carina did my makeup for that. She is truly THE BEST. Not only is she hilarious and super easy to talk to, but she just gets it. I didn't need to give her any direction at all - she just did what she had to do to make me look good. I was so sad to have to wash my face at the end of the day - I wish I could have kept that makeup on forever. Carina also showed me several products that she used on me, and I was so happy with the outcome that I had to buy them to add to my arsenal! I have already recommended Flawless Faces to several friends that are getting married or have upcoming events, and will continue to do so. I left Flawless Faces about 5 hours ago feeling so much excitement and relief about my skin. I met Carina (the owner) through a mutual acquaintance and was very impressed with her kindness, honesty and professionalism. I have been struggling with my skin for the past three years after having a reaction to a medication. I have spent a small fortune on services, products, dermatologist visits, esthetician consultants, etc. It has been a constant battle that has been fraught with embarrassment, disappointment and frustration. When I met Carina she told me to come on into her salon and she would be able to help me...If I did exactly what she said which included changing my pillow cases, using a fresh wash cloth after every wash, consuming probiotics, and a number of other issues that needed to be addressed in my skin care routine. I decided to give this another shot and told her I would do anything. She really took the time my first visit to asses my skin, listen to my history and what my goals were. She was very honest that although the products (PCA Skin) are amazing, I might need something prescription grade to start the clarification process. I am thrilled to say this will not be necessary. This first visit was a standard facial and bit of information on the PCA Skin line of products. She told me success stories she has witnessed. Carina has done three different types of peels each depending on where my skin is the day I come in. I get a post procedure kit with products to use for an entire week. They are incredibly soothing and come with a very liberal amount. I also have a number of products from the line including a wash, toner, acne gel, blemish bar and ReBalance cream. It has been two months since my first visit and my skin has improved tremendously. I am shocked each time I wash my face and feel smoothness. I have a renewed confidence thanks to Carina and PCA Skin. I am so grateful and highly recommend her and her team. I want to also say how beautiful and relaxing the salon is. I feel my entire body decompress when I walk in. I am always greeted by very friendly and professional staff. The facial room is like a mini sanctuary. I joke that I could just curl up in the plush bed with the tranquil sounds in the room and take a nap. read more

I used Flawless Faces for my bridal party hair and makeup last weekend and was pleased with the outcome. It was easy enough to make my trial and day of appointments, either Carina or one of her employees responds to emails fairly quickly. For the day of I chose to have everything done at the salon because it seemed easier and the salon is very cute. The only problem with this was that the salon is tiny and they had a ton of other appointments going on at the same time. I think they had 7 makeup artists/hair stylists crammed in there at one point. It wasn't too bad, except on an already stressful day you don't need a bunch of other brides and bridal parties sitting around complaining and being ridiculous like what you see on those bridal shows on TLC. Seriously, I saw one bridesmaid have an amazingly intricate hairstyle done, only to walk back up to the stylist a half hour later and say "this isn't me, do it over" I wanted to smack her for the stylist. In retrospect, I should have had them come to the hotel to have a more private and laid back experience. I was set up with Jo for makeup and Susie for hair and they both did a great job. I don't wear makeup very much so I pretty much just let Jo do her thing. The makeup looked amazing and stayed put all night long, even through sweating on the dance floor. The only negative was that I got an allergic reaction from whatever product she put under and around my eyes. I got this after my trial as well, but it didn't show up until a day or two after so I didn't associate it until it happened again after the wedding. Oh well, nobody else in my party had a reaction so it was just my stupid sensitive skin. For my hair all I had to do was show Susie a picture of the kind of style I liked and she made me look even better than imagined. She worked really fast and accurately, and the style stayed all night, even with my super thin lifeless hair. It was well worth the 20 minutes it took me to find all the bobby pins to take it down at the end of the night. Overall, I would recommend Flawless Faces, especially for brides that aren't really into hair and makeup... they will point you in the right direction :) read more

They did my makeup and hair for a trial for my wedding day, which was also the day of my boudoir photo shoot & the work was amazing. Ashley did both my hair & makeup and I really loved the look. Stephanie did my make up for my engagement session and she did a great job with my eyes! I LOVED them. I didn't love my face make up as there was no contouring but that is partly my fault because i didn't notice it until after i got home. The tricky thing is that you don't get to chose who does your make up. You make a reservation and then you're just assigned someone. After i made the reservation i never received an email confirmation to confirm my appointment time. I had to send a separate note to make sure they received my appointment. overall, i was very happy with my make up and with the prices. read more
