I did a makeup trial with Flawless Faces before booking for my wedding. Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience here. The eye makeup was nothing like the pictures I showed to the makeup artist. When I asked her to add pink to my eye makeup (like the picture had), she added dark purple. I ended up with a slightly "black eye" look given other dark colors she used. She also took all dimension away from my face. I had to add contour afterwards to bring back my cheekbones. She also made comments the whole time about my acne and how my eyes are uneven and droopy. Overall I left not feeling great about my makeup and not confident that they'd do a great job on my wedding day. read more

I've used Carina for my wedding, maternity pictures, and family photos (so for 5 years +). I used to go to the MAC counter or Sephora to get my makeup done, and was ALWAYS disappointed. This is the most beautiful full service makeup/facial/studio located on the east side of Costa Mesa off the 55. It is super cute inside. I had a facial there by the owner whose name is Carina which was AMAZING. She offers several different custom facials depending on your skins needs. You climb into a super soft facial bed with blankets, super comfortable and relax as she does wonders to your skin. I also had my makeup done by Carina on my wedding day. My makeup lasted ALL day even through my tears my beautiful false eye lashes stayed put. She does special occasion makeup for any occasion. She specializes in weddings, engagement make up, ect, Top Notch job...all her make up artists are trained by her and follow her style so if you cant boo with her, dont worry her staff is just as amazing. I hired Flawless Faces after a recommendation from my friend you has done some modeling for them in the past and I could not have made a better choice for my wedding hair & makeup!!!! I definitely would recommend to any brides to have a trial with your hair & makeup team before the big day. Having that trial helped me really buckle down what it was that I exactly wanted and helped develop that relationship with my stylists. Susie did hair and Sara did makeup for myself and all my bridesmaids and the moms. They did an absolutely fantastic job and all of us ladies kept saying how beautiful we felt. The moms and girls kept talking about how lovely they all felt :). I had the girls choose the hairstyle they wanted, so Susie had quite a task with accommodating all these different hairstyles, which she did a great job with. They are quick to respond as far as scheduling goes and they are prompt with your appointment time. I had Cristina for hair and I showed a picture of what I wanted, expecting to have it somewhat similar but no, she was able to masterfully match it perfectly without any hassle. I've had Carina and her team do my hair and makeup a few times and it's always been amazing so I felt like it was time to get some private time and learn how to do this myself. I booked a hair and makeup preview for my upcoming wedding with Flawless Faces because they came highly recommended. I was very disappointed after the preview and needless to say, I did not book them for my wedding. I think every bride will agree that how you look on your wedding day is extremely important. I felt my money was a complete waste being spent on FF. Before coming to my appointment, Carina was very good about responding quickly to emails. I appreciate quick responses so I was looking forward to my preview and meeting her. When I arrived and walked in, the girl that greeted me was so unpleasant and unfriendly, my instinct was to cancel the appointment. When it turned out that she was the one doing my hair, I felt nervous but bit my tongue and hoped for the best. To her credit, her customer service wasn't horrible as she was working on my hair and really tried to have a pleasant conversation. Sadly, when she was done, I was quite disappointed by the look because it was definitely not what I wanted. When I told her this, she said she can try to fix it but it would run into my makeup trial time. I felt that she wanted to leave so I didn't want to waste her time and try to work with someone who was done. I moved on to my makeup trial. The girl that did my makeup was very nice, cordial and listened and tried to accommodate my requests. Unfortunately, her make-up application method seemed "lacking of expertise" and the makeup was applied way too thick and cakey. Lines were not smooth and the lashes were very uncomfortable. My eyes turned red the discomfort. During my hair trial, Carina walked out to grab something from the room and when I said hi to her, she responded in a curt and unfriendly tone, "I'm Carina the owner. I've been responding to your emails." Then she left the room. I was a bit confused as to what just happened and wondered why she was so unpleasant. When I was done and paying out front with Carina, she asked me in an abrasive manner if I was going to book my wedding date. Disappointed by their work and Carina's attitude, I told her that I wasn't going to make the booking just yet and would like to try out a few more places before I make my final decision. Her demeanor and tone became even more curt and rude after I said that. I felt good about not having booked her for my wedding day. Had she been more pleasant, maybe I would have felt reassured enough that it will be done right on my wedding day to go ahead and confirm the services. My experience with FF was not a pleasant one and they definitely have an unfriendly vibe. I think as the owner, Carina overwhelmingly sets the tone for this. She could try to make customers feel more at ease at her place; but I feel that she did not care. read more

Disclaimer: I have never been to Flawless Faces but this review applies to Dillan O'Neill who is currently working there as an esthetician. While she is good at sugaring, she is unprofessional in her customer service! While she was over at XO Salon, went in to get a treatment and she was almost 2 hours late even though she had told them to tell my friend and I that she was "just around the corner." We patiently waited and got our brazilians done. She told us an elaborate story about why she was late. I really didn't care, I just wanted my service done. It was pretty good, being painful a few times when the wax was getting too sticky and she was attempting to get it off without the use of hot towels. At the end of the service, she gave us gift certificates for complimentary brazilians as a way to compensate us for the long wait. I thought that was very kind and generous of her, but when I went in to redeem my certificate and my second treatment (good under the Groupon I had with her services), XO Salon said she was no longer working there and that I would have to call her directly to redeem the certificate and the second Groupon treatment (it was under her name). They gave me her number and I have called numerous times, only to find that her voicemail box was full and I could neither get through to her by phone or by leaving her a message. My friend tried calling her and instead of getting a call back, Dillan text messaged her and said that she was not willing to honor the certificate nor the Groupon and that her prices have gone up! She was also pushing services on her, even though she was not interested after hearing that. Sorry Dillan, it's not common for me to write bad Yelp reviews, but we are just not satisfied with your customer service and lack of professionalism! read more

KAT is amazing! I normally would go to MAC to get my makeup done need there be a special event but Flawless Faces is closer than South Coast and I heard good things about Kat so I on a last minute booked with her. She is a former MAC makeup artist and knows her stuff. I told her a little bit of what I was going for and described my dress that I would be wearing. Less than an hour latter I was ready and out the door. She did such a good job that I kept on getting compliments the entire night on how good my eyes looked. I normally don't wear liner in the eye lids and I was a little worried that it may not look good.... Well, it did. Gave my eyes that pop. Five hours latter into my night the only touch ups that I had to do was that of freshen up my lipstick!! She used a primer on my and even though I have oily skin I stayed looking fresh the entire night! So, special event ladies you must see Kat.. Prices are extremely reasonable... I'm all about the actual product, but I also think that customer service is vital. If you want a successful business, treat your customers like they're family and make them feel welcome. I had a groupon and went for a customized facial. When I walked in and told her that, she said "I asked you if you had one, because so and so does the groupon customers." Well excuse me, I didn't realize I was wasting your time. I thought that any business was better then none at all. After that I was annoyed, but I let it go. During the facial, it's not as relaxing of an environment as I've had before, but good enough. When she was doing the extractions, I was in so much pain. I know extractions are supposed to be uncomfortable, but I was clenching my fists. My skin looked great a couple days later, but the process was painful. read more

I used flawless faces for make-up services for my engagement photoshoot. Make-up was done at their studio in Costa Mesa. It was a very cute and girly studio that they had. Make-up turned out nice and was reasonably priced ($85 for airbrush). My only complaint was that when setting up the appointment it took forever to get a response back via email. Couple times a response never was received so I had to resend the previous email again. When I called it always went to voicemail. I was happy with the makeup service I received from my engagement photoshoot and decided to inquire about wedding makeup and hair services. I received an email with the pricing info. It was reasonably priced and I decided to book my entire wedding hair and makeup with flawless faces. However, I sent an email back stating that I was ready to book and was willing to out down a deposit and never heard back from anyone. Since this seemed to be a common occurrence I decided to go with another person for hair and makeup who always responded immediately to all of my emails and was quoted an even better price. read more

It was my fault for being so forgiving. On the day of pay wedding, my hair was absolutely terrible and my makeup didn't last. Did a trial/engagement session make up here with Stephanie, but ended up going with a different studio for my wedding make up. I was fairly specific with what I wanted and I loved the way my eyes looked. However, the lighting in the studio was not the best, and I felt that the make up was slightly rushed. I was in and out in about 35 minutes, and it was only after I got my HD pictures back that I noticed my make up was slightly uneven and much too dark for my face. I should have walked outside and have someone take pictures for me from slightly further away to check the lighting, so that one was on me. There was limited contouring on my face but so much blush and foundation that the end result did not look as natural as I hoped. Furthermore, the entire time I felt pressured to do airbrush instead of foundation. If this was a 5-6 hours event then I'll do airbrush, but for a 45 min photoshoot, I didn't think the extra $$ and uncomfortable-ness was worth it. Even though they took credit cards for the engagement make-up session, they refused to take a credit card for the wedding booking (? I even offered to pay processing fees...). Keep in mind they will also charge a travel fee that is relatively high in comparison to the cost of services. read more

Came in on Saturday to get my makeup done for a wedding I was attending and saw Tiffany. She is a doll and knows her stuff! We went with a smokey eye in navy that matched my dress I was wearing. Dillan is a sugaring genius! I have gotten sugared by Dillan before and her attitude and workmanship was and still is absolutely amazing. About a month ago, when I found out she no longer worked at a different facility, for an unfair reason I might add, I tried to get sugared else where. Horrible move. I had the most painful experience and the results were not as satisfying. I had breakage everywhere. Luckily I was able to contact Dillan ones again and she got me back on track. Dillan O'Neal is the most incredible esthetician/sugarist I have ever come across! This girl really knows her stuff. Whenever my paychecks allow me to, I get a brazilian sugaring from her. Yes, it is on the pricey side, but you really do get what you pay for! And Dillan takes EVERY single hair out! I can't even begin to say how many times I've gotten brazilians and they've missed a bunch of spots (The Pretty Kitty, European Wax Center etc), but not once with Dillan! I've been to her twice so far and she's been spot on every single time :) Skip the waxing ladies, and convert to sugaring. This hair removal method is genius, and so is Dillan. It does come with just a bit of discomfort, but if you get brazilian waxings on the regular, you'll be totally fine.Trust Dillan with your lady parts, she's great and will have you bikini ready in no time! read more

Our wedding was the hottest day of the year at 109 degrees, yet my makeup still looked fresh until 11:00 PM. Ashley is so talented as well.
