I will be following up with a complaint filed with the BBB of Washington. I have the texts he sent saying he would correct the failures and make the repairs although he never kept his promises. Also, while they originally installed a gate of the wrong size (4ft instead of 5) without measuring first, I appreciate that these guys came back to put in a gate of the correct size. That was the biggest issue and it's now fixed. Cons: The installation wasn't very professional. The top bar that was cut to make room for the gate is just kind of hanging, unsupported. It's pressed against the post, but it won't support much weight if someone ever tries to jump the fence. The post they put in was supposed to have cement per the contract, but they never poured any. The gate latch isn't tight--the gate can be pushed open even when latched closed. Hopefully they'll fix these at some point and I can update the review in the future. Overall, I do have a gate, but I wish I had spent more money and gone with a more experienced contractor.

After a few phone calls, we decided to work w Quick Fencing and Nick (the owner). He was the easiest to get quote, also his pricing is the most reasonable, especially w high quality cedar wood boards. He came as planned, installed the posts first with concrete foundation, which is great for stability. He also was patient to wait 3 days for the posts to dry and stabilize before installing the boards. In the mean time, we had a bit of scheduling snafu, I had my landscaper also there at the same time. But Nick was very accommodating, letting the landscaper finish his work first. Fast forward, the fence is now finished, and it looks good. Nick is willing to guarantee his work for 2 years. We probably won't need it, but it is a nice assurance. All in all, Nick is easy to work with, and the work is great!

They are very responsive, and communication is easy. I usually ask for two estimates: one to fix the fence panels and replace only what is needed (after inspection they tell me what panels and posts can be saved) and another one to replace the one or multiple fence panels and posts with new ones. In both cases they did a very good job and pretty quickly too. I was able to do all that by sending them photos and just check the work after completion. I even had neighbors who used them to redo their entire fence, and they were satisfied too.

The most negative experience I had with any contractors. Our project was to rebuild a deck and…read moreinstall polycarbonate roof panels. I felt like it was the first time this team actually saw roof panels and had no idea how to install them. They completely ignored installation manual and assembled them as they thought was correct. Right after the first rain the whole roof leaked in multiple places. They came back with tubes of silicone and spread horrific amount all over the roof. By doing that they left prints, including hand prints of silicon over the clear roof so it's visible when you stand on the deck. Next rain, everything leaked again. I asked them to properly install the panels and showed instructions from the manufacturer but they ignored it once again and came back with stronger silicone. They replaced one panel that was completely covered with white silicone to a new one and I noticed that it was a different panel (from 8 others). The response was that they didn't know where to buy the same panel so they just bought a random one. After the last silicone attempt the roof is still leaking and I will have to pay again for full replacement next summer. As nothing worked this team just decide to never show up again as it's apparently too hard to fix the roof or install it properly. Of course they kept the money that I gave them with no issues. End result: leaking roof, lost $$$, looking for new contractors to completely replace the installation with new panels.

We told him what we wanted done, and William gave us the best bid for our project, so we decided to go with William and his crew. On Monday morning, he was at our house and started the actual project on Tuesday. On Thursday evening, the job was done. We are very happy with the results. Wow! I'm amazed that Cedar River construction doesn't have more reviews on Yelp. We contacted eight…read moredifferent contractors to just get a fence quote and only a handful of them actually got back to us. One even gave us a quote and when I called to book the job, they never called back. We found Steve's website online and he called us back within a day, was out to do the quote with in a few days after that and started the job within about a week! He was prompt, professional and not afraid of technology (I.e he knew how to respond via email--which was great because then we didn't play phone tag.) He used quality lumber from a local company, got the job done on time and delivered high quality work. His quote was just a bit less than other quotes (yea!), but generally all the quotes we got were in the same ballpark. So it was really his promptness, communication and professionalism that sold us. The site was clean and orderly after they left and we came home to a beautiful cedar fence. I especially like the gate design. If we ever re-do our deck or extend the fence line, Cedar River will be our first call. I'd recommend Steve's work to anyone!

When we raised the issue, they initially denied installing that particular post. After we provided clear photographic evidence proving otherwise, they stopped responding and have ignored our repeated messages ever since. The workmanship was disappointing, but their refusal to address a legitimate problem was even more concerning. In our experience, this is not a company that takes responsibility when something goes wrong. We also found information on the BBB website stating that the company had not obtained a necessary license from the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries. Prospective customers may want to verify the contractor's licensing status themselves before hiring them.
