As an individual with a wide foot it's always been hard for me to find shoes that fit and shoes that aren't plain black. I've been to Fleet Feet twice. I love that they provide their foot measurement service for free and give you the results. We went in at 6:30 on a night they closed at 7 and took care of us like we were the first customers of the day and that was appreciated. Very good foot assessment. I wish some of the shoes I saw initially were made for my foot and provide the same color I want but you primarily want to go there for a specific shoe for your foot, not so much the look. Walked in to buy new running shoes and walked right back out after 8 minutes. Super embarrassing because my husband asked the lady at the front for assistance with a shoe size and she asked about the color. I didn't care about what color because I just wanted to try on the shoe and she pretty much brushed off my husband and continued to speak to another employee. My husband walked away and she didn't say anything about if she was going to get the shoe or not. It was just super weird and rude. We looked at each other confused because of the way she replied and because we didn't know whether to wait or just leave at that point. We left. read more

Now I can finally review this place. I had a musculoskeletal injury when I was training for the All-American Marathon that got me on a no running profile for quite some time. My boss, the sergeant major recommended this place to me. He said, they will check my arch, my form when walking and or running, then they will determine what shoe type I am needing. It reminded me of basic where they will see your foot type then give you the recommended running shoes. But he said, it's a little expensive. I am a runner, and, I couldn't wait to get back to running after my injury. I would do anything to get back to running. And so, I went to check this place out, close to downtown fay. It looks mini in the outside but maxi in the inside. You'll see displays of running shoes, running accessories and, workout outfits for ladies and gentlemen. I was the only one when I came at that time, so I got a one on one assessment on my feet and all. After the mini test of my form, the guy brought some shoes to try on and walk on them in the treadmill. I tried many shoes that were tailored to my foot arch, it was just a matter of what my preference was. Recently, I got back running as part of my recovery and I've been using the shoes I got from here, and there were so comfortable. It has a very reliable shock absorber. It felt like I was running as if I wasn't coming back from injury. I tell you it works- but then again, the shoes were pricey. I will be coming back for more shoes in here. Measured my foot at a 9.6 but kept trying to selling me shoes at a size 11 . They were so big they were flopping off my feet . How is that going to help me ? I asked to try on the a certain shoe I liked and been told by other people with the same issue I have that they were great . When they patiently review the video of customer walking and running on treadmill, they make sure you are not the weirdest runner on the planet. I admit I was rather intimidated coming here because I wouldn't necessarily call myself a runner. BUT the customer service was fantastic and everyone's personality and enthusiasm to help me made me feel very welcome. They also provided me with a free running analysis that was more in def than any other running stores I've been to in the past. They provided a variety of shoes to try based on their analysis and explained each one in detail to ensure I was well educated on my purchase. I called ahead to make sure first that they carried the shoe that I was looking for (they do) and to see if they have the size. The owner answered the phone, was very friendly and professional, and took the time to answer any questions and also to make sure he had the size of the shoe I wanted. Once we arrived I again spoke directly with the owner. Again, very friendly and professional. He took the time not only to measure my foot but also recommended a different pair of shoes based on the shape and stance of my foot. He's clearly very knowledgeable in this subject matter and takes the time to really focus on your individual needs. I can't tell you how great the experience was at this establishment. They have a treadmill in the store so you can test the shoes and he even recommended inserts that proved to fit perfectly to my feet. Unfortunately I didn't purchase the inserts yet but I will definitely go back to get them. The service in this store is beyond reproach. If you're going here thinking you're going to get inexpensive shoes, don't stop here and write a negative review about the prices. They took their time in making sure I had a shoe that was right for me and fit my physiological needs. The experience of buying a shoe here is unlike any other I have ever experienced. This place wants to sell you a shoe that is functional for YOUR running type. The shoes are however a little on the expensive side but for me I wasn't only paying for the shoe but also for the expertise and outstanding customer service.
