When I asked the store manager she was rude to me and said it was none of her business to tell people what they should or shouldn't do. He stated that locals found out that they could scan a gift card (i.e., Walmart card with $10 on it) and get a full tank of gas with no recorse. He lost thousands of dollars in fuel and the company that he's contracted to process the credit card transactions will not help him. Ralph is an Engineer from Cuba that came to America to start a new life. He started this fuel station with the hopes of living a great life. Recently with the environmental regulatory changes with DENR they required him to move his potable well since his tanks are not dual wall. He had to ask a property owner two parcels north (700ft+) for access to their land to drill a new well. It cost him thousands of dollars to abandon the well on site, relocate his well and run the conduits to his property. Keep in mind, he has no record(s) of known releases at this property, he was required due to percautionary reasoning. He now has the property up for sale due to the cost. He's mentally tired of the protocols, etc. I want to thank him for doing his best.
