This was a level 2 class. But the teacher, John, was awesome as he really went in-depth and explained the physiology, via a tailored response, to form questions. He then took us through a series of poses to make sure we understood his explanations. Throughout the session he monitored and adjusted or advised and also asked permission first. He also suggested and personally brought over, supportive devices such as an extra foam pad or bolster. What I also liked is that he only spoke when he had something to offer, and not endless "ego" chatter. I have been in some classes where the instructor just likes the sound of their voice and my brain goes numb. It is also really a "YOGA" class and not yoga on high speed, steroids in a boot camp setting, where everyone is outdoing the next person in their stamina, strength and flexibility. I am grateful to find a practice that is more introspective and calm as it used to be. YAY! =-D This studio has sufficient mats, pads, blocks, bolsters etc. Very inviting, clean and neat. Good day lighting. Wood flooring. Comfortable room temperature. I hate hot yoga classes! I do not believe in them! This was perfect! Also the staff was very friendly, calm and professional. We just stopped by for one class as we do not live there. Would have taken them up on their intro special though (below); "New Student Membership - 5 classes for $50 for 14 days If you haven't already taken advantage of our New Student Special - 5 classes for $50 valid for 14 days, click here to purchase. The pass is good for all of the ongoing classes - yoga, meditation, Tune Yoga, Spa Yoga, prenatal, kids - all of them!"

I don't live in bellevue anymore and don't want to drive that far for relaxation but it really would be worth it. I have taken their begining yoga class twice now from two diferent teachers and have loved it both times. I felt relaxed durring the classes and quite energized afterwards. Their begining classes are a fabulous introduction to yoga for beginners and are reasonably priced. Their studio rooms are equipped with beautiful hardwood floors, matts, curtained space, calm lighting and suspension walls. That's actually what sold me on this place was the suspension walls. You only do it once or twice in begining yoga but actually suspending from a wall and doing asana's is amazing, it makes your entire body feel new after you are done and yes you feel good. The staff are quite friendly and more tehn willing to work with you, I had a schedule conflict with a class once and they allowed me to drop in on that class later on. I would definitely go back here if i wasn't poor right now and could find a good calming playlist for the car on the way there and back.

My friend and I decided to give it a shot at Club Pilates as they have a studio in Bellevue. For starters, we signed up for a free trial class ahead of time online. We were told that we need to bring grip socks, which is required, otherwise we'd have to pay for grip socks at the studio. In addition to grip socks, they also sell a lot of different apparel and accessories at the studio. The free trial class is not a full class. It's a preview of different movements that a class may conduct. You do get to use the reformer machine, which was interesting as this was a first for me. The class was half an hour and the instructor walks around and teaches you how to use the machine and goes over the different movements. My friend and I felt like since this wasn't a full class, we didn't get much of an experience of what to expect at a pilates class. Therefore, we mentioned this to the staff when they tried to sell us a membership after our free trial. So then they offered us to take a full class for free, which we scheduled a week later. The full class was not much different of an experience though. The instructor yelled out the different movements to do, but didn't demonstrate what they were, so we had to watch what others in the class were doing. Then when the class ended, we were surprised, as we didn't get much of a workout. This is the first time I participated in a fitness class and didn't sweat or needed to take off my outer layer. It was very low energy. Depending on what you're looking for, pilates may be for you. But it isn't for me, especially given how expensive it is. I found it to be boring and not challenging. I can see why this kind of workout may be good for those with injuries or who may want more of a stretch - and in that case, Club Pilates in Bellevue has a nice studio for just that. The studio is clean and has a parking lot outside of the building. Just note that there only a certain number of reformer machines, so classes do fill up quickly.

Since their website address leads to a broken link I reached out on facebook messenger. I used one of Facebooks canned responses to ask 'Do you have any promotions?' and the response was 'Never. I find that kind of model disgusting'. Didn't know asking if they have a promos was such a negative question and I asked them to elaborate, but have not gotten a response. I'm still trying to figure out why my questions was so bad? (Attached screenshot)

I took the intro class that was specially priced at $19. For an hour and a half, it was an incredible deal that I could not pass up...and it was more than worth it! There were about 18+ people in the class and we started with a warm up on the silks. Afterwards, we watched Mason and 2 other instructors demo on the rope, silks, and lyra respectively. We then learned a few things on the silks and did a quick stretch of the upper body. The verdict? The warmup is NOT a beginner warmup. There's lots of balancing of the upper body on the arms or forearms while the legs are held up by the silk apparatus. As the body is balancing, it is moving forwards, backwards, and twisting side to side. For me, the warmup was great and challenging, but I could see it being difficult for a beginner. Vivian was the instructor on the silks. I found her explanations and demonstrations thorough as I had previously learned one of the tricks at another studio but had not understood it fully until Vivian explained it another way. We were learning how to climb the silks and even though there was heavy emphasis on the use of the legs, I didn't hear any guidance about relieving any tightness in the forearms or the hands during the instruction. And in the cool down/stretching, there was no focus on these parts of the body at all. For the cool down, we paired up and all we did was twist the upper body while pulling on each others arms. Time was up but I wished that there would have been more time for more thorough stretching. Now I realize that there were a lot of people in the class and it was an intro class so I am probably calling out personal particulars, but I was really impressed with the overall vibe of the studio. I like their whole hybrid exercise modality idea. The instruction was awesome. The studio is a great space and I am especially looking forward to taking future classes in trapeze and lyra. Lastly, I find the pricing options a great value.
