Another great visit!! This trip we ordered:…read more Frog legs with green beans and scalloped potatoes 2 piece dark chicken meal with French fries and greens Fried green tomatoes Our opinion: I was very excited about ordering the fried green tomato appetizer. I think this is the only thing I was disappointed by. The size of the tomatoes is large - but the breading is a flour breading instead of the traditional cornmeal breading. I thought it was too heavy and overpowered the flavor of the tomato itself. I probably wouldn't order these again unless a lighter cornmeal breading was an option. Please make that an option - because this tomato with a cornmeal breading and the fry dip sauce could be absolute heaven. Fried chicken: amazing, delicious, yummy - some of the best fried chicken ever Frog legs: you get 3 sets of legs and they are good size. Fried to perfection and delicious. Sides: Scalloped potatoes - I wasn't crazy about this side. To me a scalloped potato is a thinly sliced potato with a creamy cheese sauce. I would call these cheesy potatoes instead of scalloped. They were larger chunks. Green beans - loved them Greens - a bit salty but good French fries - the perfect French fry with the most amazing sauce ever

I loved my platter of chicken livers w very sweet corn casserole and mashed. I still have 1/2 of it to take home. Hubby's chicken fingers were also fresh as can be. You will smell like fried everything afterwards, so don't plan a romantic evening. You also should not expect fast service on a busy Saturday night since it is a one room place. But if you leave hungry, it's your fault!

I stumbled upon Crewitts Creek while in Independence for my son's soccer game. I only had a short period of time, and though the restaurant and bar were pretty full, I was in and out in less than an hour. Happy Hour is available from 2-6 Tuesday through Friday (they are closed Mondays). Their pick any two for $13 from the Happy Hour menu is an amazing deal! The choices are side salad, wedge salad, bowl of Chili, soup of the day, Jr. club sandwich, or Jr. BLT with cheese. I started with the classic wedge salad with bleu cheese dressing, bleu cheese crumbles, applewood smoked bacon, red onion, and Roma tomatoes. This was a large serving and was full of toppings. My second choice was the Jr. BLT with cheese, and while it says Jr. in the name, this was a full-size sandwich featuring a grilled cheese combined with bacon, lettuce, and tomato. And it was even served with fries. I was not expecting this amount of food for a happy hour offering, but it was more than I could eat, and it was all freshly prepared and great tasting. I would definitely go back to Crewitts Creek again when given the chance.

Was difficult to get refills on bar drinks when ready and dinners were subpar. Strawberry salad chicken appeared to be boiled instead of grilled and steak special was a bit overcooked and unseasoned. Best part was the fried cheese and that always hits at this restaurant. Wedge salad was good also.

PUB FOOD DONE RIGHT!…read more If you're looking for a spot that delivers comfort food with big flavor, Bender's Pub Grub needs to be on your radar! Located inside Alexandria Brewing Company, Chef Shawn Weinbender & his managing partner Lora Damron opened Bender's Pub Grub in December 2022 & they've definitely made their mark on NKY! Their team is serving up traditional pub food with a Southern touch that is undeniably delicious! Voted Best Burger in NKY 3 years in a row, I'd say they're definitely doing it right!! The Smashburger was everything you want in a burger--juicy, flavorful, and perfectly smashed with those crispy edges we all love. The Tots were golden, crispy, and impossible to stop eating. And can we talk about the Charcuterie Board?! The perfect mix of meats, cheeses, and accompaniments that made every bite a little adventure. My favorite bites were the Charcuterie Board & the Smashburger! Whether you're grabbing dinner, meeting friends for drinks, or just craving some seriously good pub food, Bender's Pub Grub delivers. I ordered online at the West Chester location inside the brewery Alexandria I think. It's in a weird spot in the business district. Pick up was easy and it wasn't busy. Service was friendly. I got the double smash burger (regular one) with cheese only. Tots and 12 wings in dry rub. The burger was good. It could use more salt. It did have some seasoning that you could visibly see though. It was a pretty big burger! Not my favorite smash burger but it was good and i'd eat it again. The tots were fine. Much better after being tossed in the air fryer. The wings had great flavor from the dry rub. I would go back for the wings for sure. They were nice and crispy (which i think i may have requested).

I am still dreaming about the pork belly skewers. We had a reservation for our party, so we were seated quickly. The inside of this old church is very sleek, modern, and clean. It is more upscale in feeling than other breweries in the area. We ordered the pork belly skewers, cheese curds, squash croquettes, and jalapeno poppers as appetizers for the table. The pork belly skewers are probably one of the greatest things I have ever eaten, as i said above. The squash croquettes are so different and so good as well. The cheese curds are standard and sure to please a crowd. And lastly, the jalapeno poppers were not for me. They stuff theirs with chicken, not cream cheese, and that flavor combo with the super smokey bacon wrapped around it did nothing for me. If you are more of a carnivore though you would probably love it. I got the chicken marinara sandwich and split a side of the brussels sprouts with a friend. The sandwich was huge! It looked much larger than some of the other plates people got. The marinara had great flavor, the cheese was fresh, and the chicken was perfectly cooked. I was so stuffed from my appetizers that I only ate half the sandwich. The sprouts were also very well done and the cheese/sauce on them was so so good. We ended the meal, even though we were all so full, with their citrus olive oil cake. Now some people find that name off-putting, but let me tell you as someone who loves baking, this cake is one of the best desserts I have ever had in my life. It is so light, with the perfect amount of citrus, and the fresh whipped cream is so delicious. It truly is a perfect dessert and I would go back only for that. Overall we had a great dinner here and left so stuffed that we all went home to lay down. The beer is also good but I would go for the food before anything else. If you are downtown and need a great meal, do not hesitate to come here!

We ordered the chicken and waffles. Amazing! My son who is super picky devoured his share. The other dishes we ordered were equally delicious. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her espresso martini. I was really wanting to try their Bloody Mary, but they had ran out over the busy 4th of July weekend. I tried one of their craft beers. I believe it was called the big red. It was served ice cold and very good. Mellotone is worth a try if you have never been. We will be back soon to try that Bloody Mary and more chicken and waffles.
