Buyer Beware- I have shopped here for years but last week we had the oddest and most disturbing…read moreexperience. We arrived just before 10:00am and waited a few minutes for the store to open. We were waved in by the cashier, a petite brunette, and the guard let us in, We were the only people in the store. The cashier asked us to wait a moment to try on shoes until the salesperson came in. Yonnie, the salesperson, entered a moment later and chastised the security guard for letting us in, even though it was 10:00. I chose some shoes and my husband asked the price of a bag, The bag was $1,000 and I offered to buy it for his birthday (that week). He paid as I didn't have the correct card on hand. The cashier rushed to fill out the profile and , before ringing the sale, asked for my husband's DRIVERS LICENSE (my husband isn't white). I asked why she needed his license and she wouldn't answer. She asked for his address and he had assumed that she took it from the license. WHAT DID SHE RECORD FROM THE LICENSE AND WHY??? The cashier recorded something from his driver's license (his ID number???). The cashier then grabbed the credit card and swiped the sale, even though I had yet to look at my shoes...so...we were just beginning to shop. I asked her to wait but she ignored me. She folded the receipt and put it in an envelope. Yonni was nice, and I told her I would think about the shoes (another $1,400 to $2,000 sale). She took my phone number when I told her that I often shop via facetime with other stores in that mall. We shopped elsewhere and stopped for coffee, at which time my husband opened the envelope and noticed we had been charged $1,300-NOT $1,000. My husband called Yonni on her cell phone and left a message. We then called the store number and the hostile and rude cashier said " Yonni is on the floor and won't be disturbed!" He asked to leave a message and the cashier said we would need to call the same number back and leave a voicemail (presumably the cashier was going to let the store phone go to voicemail in a clear attempt to delay the conversation about the price). We asked her to write down a message and have Yonni call us back. We were running late, but wanted to work this out before we left the mall. We dragged our butts back to the store, were admitted by the guard. Yonni was on break so we found the manager, Lillia. Lillia said she didn't understand why the cashier wouldn't take the message, why she didn't give the message to Yonni, and that she certainly  believed that we had been given the price of $1,000. Lillia explained that this has happened several times and that the company would not allow her to adjust the price we had contracted for. She said she would escalate this to the regional manager and that she, Lillia, had our contact info on file. We were now certain that everyone involved was aware of the overcharge, including Lillia. She would not offer the stated price. We didn't want to look at that $1,000 bag and feel bad about it. The staff had tainted the transaction and the reputation of this supposedly reputable and classy brand. We cancelled the transaction and my husband was disappointed. This would NEVER have happened if he was white (odd despite the fact that Yonni is a POC) and there were gay and people working there. Afterwards, I realized that nobody actually showed us the price of the bag (the tag was inside the bag). And what and why did the cashier record information from the driver's license? The only explanation seems to be that the cashier or several folks there are trying to steal data. Meanwhile, although a gray area, this likely qualifies as bait and switch. A price is quoted, accepted, and paid...then the price changes. Possibly against FL FDUTRA Chapter 501. Nevertheless it's tacky and dishonest. I ASSURE you, the 3.2 BILLION dollar company can afford to honor the prices they quote, and the sale of my boots would have more than made up for the small discrepancy. Mostly when this happens numerous times. Of course neither Lillia nor her regional manager called back. PS: Although it is irrelevant, we were also wearing a full wardrobe of designer clothing and jewelry. I was wearing $790 Etro sandals...so it wasn't like we are some kind of hillbillies off the street. What gives?

On Sunday, February 23rd at approximately 2:30 p.m., I was shopping in the above company store.. As I was shopping in the women's shoe section, I was being assisted by a young African-American man named Keon (forgive any misspellings please). While letting me shop he became engaged into a conversation with one of his colleagues named "Cyrus" where Cyrus began to ask him what was acceptable to him in conversation. "You don't mind being called Black do you?" Cyrus asked. "What if I called you a nigger? Would you mind that? he further inquired. He simply said before I could make it around the corner to the front of the store where they were talking, ""No, I don't think you should say that." I applaud him for his demeanor. At that point I could no longer stand aside and I said, "I would and am offended that you would even say that." Cyrus apologized and said he didn't mean anyone to hear that. However, for anyone to hear that in a workplace as a colleague or a customer would contradict any decent company's values of fairness, respect, and inclusivity. Incidents such as these are a form of harassment and actions such as these have created an uncomfortable and unfair work environment, affecting employee morale and productivity. And this is what I heard among your employees one to another. No telling what that poor man may have to endure outside of the public's eye. I believe that addressing this matter promptly is essential to fostering a more inclusive and respectful workplace that your customers can be proud of. I kindly request that management conduct a thorough investigation into this issue and take the necessary steps to ensure that all employees are treated equitably and in accordance with company policies and legal standards. I understand that the salespeople are overwhelmed especially around the holiday season but the job is to tend to customers. I asked multiple salespeople to help me with a pair of heels but it took 20 mins of me asking to the point asking them "to do me a favor" and check. Then I see a bag I like with no tag in it nor on it, I kindly ask a saleswoman to assist me and she pushes me away and says "it's in the bag". Then tells me to "go ask another rep" while she's going through her customer receipts. I respect the job and understand it's tough, but service should be #1 when I'm about to buy a $1500 bag and $500 shoes.
