After the mau5 concert, we came to Wildwood for the Irish Festival. I hadn't eaten since....about noon the day before. I ordered a BLT, and it was like sex in my mouth. Washed down with a Bud Light Lime and I was loving life. I was here with my 3 main boys and they were watching the Phillies game. I'm no Philly fan, but I know better than to open my mouth in South Jersey. Fair prices, quick and pleasant bartenders and a nice view of the whole festival. North Wildwood, yep! Exactly what you expect with a touch of "class". It's an interesting stop for a night out as it's a bar and grill / club / resort. Yes, it's located in the Champagne Island Resort so there is a pool in the middle of the bar scene. I was sad it was not being used in the evening, that would have been a cool Vegas feel. We stopped in for lunch recently, and I was glad that we came at that hour: the four bars scattered among the sprawling space evoked memories of bro-tastic college debauchery. You can tell that this place is, first and foremost, a bastion of the Wildwood nightlife. But I should note that the food was decent. We opted to eat in the main dining room, but there is actually a rooftop pool bar, where I believe you can eat and drink by the pool. There is a $5 cover to go up there. The menu offered your standard bar fare -- I had a turkey club, which was decent, and my wife had chicken fingers -- and the service is prompt and professional. Stop by if you're in the mood for a low-key lunch (perhaps even wear your bathing suit, should you opt to eat at the pool bar), but if you come at nighttime, be sure to have your collar sufficiently popped. read more

Great food, great location! Right in the heart of Anglesea, Flip Flopz offers a menu so full of enticing items, I want to go again soon. My friend and I split the most delicious coconut shrimp EVER. Okay I really am not one to write a bad review with out Trying to resolve my issue first with management. But what a way to start out our first experiences in there. We where in here during bike week of this year. Went in twice that week, because we jellyroll want to like this place.. The atmosphere is awesome, the location is perfect, the idea is exactly perfect for NWD. So first things first, went in the hosts greets us (friendly) we say at the bar please. We sit down and are greeted by a tall more experienced bartender. Very nice, all around friendly, happy person (+1). We asked to see menu's and he sends over a waitress. (can't stand that) Our waitress had no dam personality what so ever. So long story short we ordered sandwiches and apps. and drinks. There was two bills bar and food (no big deal) Bartender nice as can be the whole time and still wonderful.... the Waitress checked on us once.. At check time"OH THANK YOU so much" after she and a couple of other girls looked so annoyed by being there the whole time. You know one thing I can not stand is fake waitstaff at the end of their table shift (ooohhh that pisses me off) because it's tip time... Now second time: Went in two days later and same man at the bar. Wanted to sit there but it was wayyyyyy to nice outside to be inside after this summers rain fest.. Anyway, we ask him if we can sit outside he says sure go right ahead order drinks here and if you want food I will get you a waitress.... NO problem, now we sit outside and there was some music street parade going on right outside. so we decided to get food. This waitress walks outside and gives us a dirty look like what the hell are you sitting out here for. We told here that we asked the bartender if we can sit out here.. She replies, "oohh well are you going to order food? We asked for a menu she rolled here eyes... So we order, we get our food (just apps and beers) she asks if we are ordering anything else, I say not right now in a bit. She walks away with attitude, and doesn't come back to us for the rest of the time. Now that's twice. So ask for our check, "oh thank you guys have a great day bla,bla,bla"!!!! Really! here is your $1..... I should have called or spoke to a manager, but they really started to get busy and I'm not going to make a scene because of one idiot. We are going to try it again and hopefully that bartender is still there, the only good experience... Well the food was pretty good which made up for the miserable waitresses.... So we will be going back and hopefully they can cheer up the miserable waitresses... This is our experience, I encourage you to try it for yourself, and again we will be going back... We waited 1 hour for our food...and the food was...fine. It wasn't bad, but nothing to write home about. If you're going to watch a sporting event or use the upstairs pool bar and just hang out for a really long time without the end game of eating quickly, then I'd recommend this place. But if you're anywhere from mildly-moderately hungry and looking to for a nice place out to eat, maybe go somewhere else. Incredible happy hour! First of all - Jim the bartender- just the best! Sweetest guy you'll find behind a bar! And quick and attentive!! Then the food and drink specials are like no other!!! I had a $3 vodka well drink and the hubby had a $2 draft beer. Then I had two $2 chicken tacos and he had two $2 buffalo chicken sliders! Both delicious!! Everything was fresh food on the tacos. The only thing I would recommend was to just season the chicken breast - I added salt and pepper and it was tasty but if you use fresh tomato- which I totally appreciated- you kinda have to use a seasoning on the chicken - but hey - fresh food for two bucks each - I'm in!!! There are a bunch of other food options as well during happy hour so definitely go here. We started at another place a block down - then ended up here. Great Bar! Ice cold beer! Great food! I was there today, the bartender Jim is a great guy, very attentive to your needs. They have lots of speciality drinks, all sound good. The food is delicious, I had the scallops wrapped in bacon, they are fantastic. Then the shrimp scampi over linguine, there was plenty of jumbo shrimp, everything was cooked perfectly. I have visited Flip Flopz many times before as I love the location with the ocean views, Tiki Topz bar and pool area, and more. Typically I order a sandwich (burgers are over-the-top good) but just recently I tried one of the dinner specials. I ordered the grilled pork chop dinner with a warm peach salsa, delicious! I came here two times and had good experience both times. It is in a great location very close to the beach and other bars! Earlier in the summer I came for a night out! It was a little crowded but a fun time! Good music and close to other fun bars so it is easy to hop around. This past weekend I came for lunch on a Saturday and it was not that crowded. I was in a group of 9 and we were seated right away. The service and food were pretty good. The drinks were delicious but a little pricey! It was $10 for a frozen drink! I would like to first state that the 1 star has nothing to do with the wait staff. Our waitress by the pool was incredible. The "bouncer" on the other hand was a power hungry, I need to mess with others to feel good about myself piece of crap. Over the years that has been our spot to take a break. We have spent thousands in there. I have zero problem with rules. When we walked in he asked what was in my yetti. I told him ice water because the last place I was did not have bottled water and the water out of the bar gun had a metallic taste. He said they had bottled and please keep it in my bag. Had no problem at all with that at all. Within the next hour 2 more walked in with what I had and it was fine. He made his rounds and had zero problem with them having it in the pool and at the table. When I went to approach him to ask why the rules pertained to some and not others he walked away. A family couldn't bring in a bag of chips yet he has fast food delivered to himself. We also witnessed a patron handing him an alcoholic beverage and him walking away hiding it. I now understand why business has dropped. He is harassing grown adults at the tables resulting in them leaving and not tipping their waitress. Sometimes it's more important for owners to listen to waitresses and patrons instead of one guy because daddy is head of security there. Worst personnel ever!! Nice outdoor bar, but, never got the chance to see how the food was. My family and I went there to celebrate my birthday. Our family ages 25, 23, 21 and 19., my husband 58, myself 59. I mention this because, I would think we are a table of adults. We found a great table to accommodate all of us, under umbrellas which was very quaint. We ordered our drinks, then suddenly, a bald headed meat head bouncer, rudely comes to our table and proceeds to close the umbrellas, on our heads without warning. As we are dodging the umbrellas, my husband asks them, why they are doing that, and the meat head barks back, "Company policy, owner wants them down at night." Fine no problem, but perhaps state that prior to doing that. Beyond rude!!! Next rude remark, "Are you just sitting here and drinking?" We tell him, no we just ordered dinner. He barks again, "Kids are going to have to leave right after you eat. No kids after 10:30. Okay, there are no kids there. Very insulting to young adults, not to mention to us as their parents. Then he starts looking at our drinks and a asking for ID. That is when the fiasco began, my daughter did not take her pocketbook, therefore, she had no ID. Our sons and daughters were carded at the door by 4 bouncers and we explained to them that she did not have her pocketbook and they were fine with that. But, the server did not ask for our ID. Meat head proceeds to grab my daughters drink from her and he finds the server, a woman, whom served us, and yells at her, then throws the drink into the bus stand. Alcohol flying all over the place. Now the other customers are witnessing this man's work ethic. My son says, lets get out of here and we start to leave, and the bouncer says, "Get the hell out of here and throws us out the back door!!!" Okay, wrong on so many levels. My whole family and I, experienced, first hand, work place RAGE by an incompetent bouncer. Not to mention the woman server whom worked there. She was verbally abused by this man and I am sure flustered. I am sure, since, she knows there are bouncers checking at the door, there was no reason she had to ask again to see our ID's. If you are the owner of this establishment, you should cringe at the behavior that you allow in your establishment. If you are not there to over see what goes on there, you should be ashamed of yourself. Or hire a competent employee. You have a volatile man on staff doing a lousy job. And the worst part is, he was training a new person. Perpetuating the dysfunction. Shame on you!! You think you need a meat head to keep order in your business, is like playing Russian roulette. Stay Away. Since Coconut Cove closed this was my next option. Went here this past weekend. Tried going Friday night, had my clutch bag that carried ID, cash and room key. My friends and I were turned away because they needed another form of ID (credit card) with a name on it. Reminder: I only had my clutch, I didn't think I had to bring my whole wallet with a passport, SSN and credit card nonsense. Needless to say, we couldn't get in, so we went elsewhere. Lost a bunch of money we would have spent there. I am 24 years old, if your bouncer/security cant tell my ID is real, that's his and the business' problem. Get your stuff together Flip Flopz. I am currently sitting in this bar (I hesitate to say it's a restaurant). It's new years eve and I've just paid $95 a head for the worst service and some of the worst food ever! Surf and turf was the meal of the evening. The filet was ok, but they utterly destroyed a lobster tail! And it only took 2 hours to get it. They obviously only care about making the money here... the live band (love junk) is more like watching bad karaoke. The bartenders have been great, and the servers are doing the best they can, but the kitchen stinks and management is just looking to make a quick buck before shutting down for the year...never again! read more

Went to tiki topz on Saturday. We only planned on having a beer and enjoying the sunny day. We wound up staying for 5 hours. They had a DJ playing music. I am over 40 and found the music FUN. He mixed in some 80's dance with some newer stuff and I felt less old. My wife and I soaked our feet in the pool and relaxed for hours. This place never disappoints. Some family/friends and I walked across the street for happy hour and were extremely disappointed. $2 domestic drafts which left you with Miller Lite, Bud Lite, and Yuengling. $2.50 domestic bottles (a much better selection, but strange a draft is cheaper. Then $3 well drinks, but only standard liquors, no flavors (ie- no flavored vodkas or even coconut rum). Some of the speciality drinks "were around $10, maybe a dollar off or so". We also had the nachos on the appetizer menu and could have made the same thing with chips, cheese, and a microwave, nothing special. My wife and I were in the bar on Saturday July 11th. We were in town for the BBQ & Blues festival. We stopped in after checking out the festival. We both ordered drinks at the bar. I ordered a rum runner. After sipping her drink, my wife decided to try mine. As she was lifting the glass, the whole bottom of the glass came off, as if the bottom had been cut. The drink spilled all over her white shorts. The staff came by and quickly cleaned up the mess. My wife was given towels so that she could dry off her white shorts. The bartender replaced my drink. She asked my wife what could she do for us, my said 'how about some drinks on the house'. We eventually ordered two more drinks. When we were finished I was surprised when the female bartender presented us with a bill. I paid the bill. I thought that the least she could have done was comp the second round of drinks.
