So I've actually been coming here since I was a kid and all the reviews who say this place is gross... well you're right. But it used to be A LOT worse. It's a cool place for middle school and high school kids to hang out. A lot of parents drop thier kids off there and pick them up later. It's a safe place. Yeah, the floors are sticky. But they redid the arcade, and they have air hockey and pool tables now. You can get a slice of pizza and some pop corn and a soda for a very reasonable price, not like the other movie theaters that way over charge. About the same price for the concession as you would get at the mall. Movies run from $5.75 - $6.75. Lot of kids hang out here. It's a good place for teens and pre-teens to kill summer time. Better than having them get in to trouble else where, I guess. The theaters aren't so nice and up to date as the more main stream ones, but I always say if you're there to watch a movie, then you're there to watch a movie, not sit in a Lay-Z-Boy. They used to have a weekly Rocky Horror Picture Show, every Friday at Midnight but I'm not sure of they do that anymore. They also have a space set aside if you want to have a birthday party there. If you don't do in expecting a huge amazing movie theater, then you won't be disappointed. read more

I really like this place with one major flaw. The crowd... Lots of immature kids here and they pretty much ruined my entire movie experience, running up and down the theater for a good 2 hours. Shouting, cursing , you name it... No regard for other people whatsoever. Perhaps a matinee wouldn't be as bad but it was pretty disturbing. The theater itself, concessions and pricing is great otherwise. But it's worth the extra cost for a major chain or even upscale to avoid situations like mine. read more

I love this place, been coming here for years! For the time ever i had an issue for a cashier making a mistake with my food order and causing me to be late for my movie. But the manager went above and beyond to correct the issue for me. Personally escorted me and my date to our seats so we wouldn't miss any more of our movie. He than had our order remade & personally made to two trips to get us all our food. Really awesome job on his part, and it really made up for the issue. I'm flippers lifer!!!!!!!! read more

This is the best kept secret in South Florida. Movies and snacks cost a lot less than at the major chains. But the projection and sound systems are perfectly fine. There's a decently sized arcade area with affordable games that will keep kids occupied while waiting for the movie to start. This place doesn't even deserve a star. I would never let my child hangout there, even if it is a, "teenage hangout spot." It is VERY ghetto, overrun by obnoxious RUDE children, who don't even have the common decency to respect those who pay to watch the movie & keep it down. Many, many underage children without supervision OR home training! The fact that anyone gave this place over 1 star is beyond me!!! Before the movie began, my boyfriend and I were already annoyed by the rude kids flooding the theatre. We walked out and the 1st thing an employee said was, "Its that bad already?!" So this is obviously a regular thing for them. We asked for our money back and the manager was very nice about it and completely understood our issue. Theater was okay. Not as fancy as others but the prices are very affordable compared to other movie theaters. Has a fairly large arcade, kids love it. Their food is pretty good and affordable too. Their pizza slices are huge! Recommended when you want to go watch a quick movie for an affordable price. read more

Flippers used to be a $1 movie theater when I was in school. Now that Flippers has taken over I am ecstatic, My kids get to 1 go to a place I used to go as their age and 2 its upgraded with an awesome arcade, pool table, 360 gamer room, and great prizes. the only down fall I have is that I believe it should be upgraded. read more

Not sure if Flippers is mostly popular for their cinema because the ticket booth is the first thing you see before entering and I only went to the arcade but I still had a great time. We paid $10 for 40 tokens and got around maybe 25-30 minutes out of games from that so if you want to play more games I'd suggest getting the $20 for 100 tokens. They also offer like 4 tokens for $1 I believe if you end up running short for a game. It is relatively smaller than other arcades you may be familiar with (Xtreme, Chuck E. Cheese's, Dave & Busters, etc) and it is pretty quiet but that was maybe because of the pandemic and it was a Thursday but the staff was very patient and helpful, especially one of the managers Jim. He was very welcoming; he made sure to greet us and towards the end he even gave us some extra tokens as a thanks for coming! This place is a great place to pop in for 30 mins-1hr if you're just looking for some quick fun, but they also have food and a movie theater so you can make a whole experience out of it! read more

The theater part of Flippers just got a major face-lift and I am here to tell you that its pretty darn impressive what they have done. The theaters look great and that old theater smell, that I could never quite put my finger on, seems to be gone. Perhaps 5 stars is a little to much, but compared to how it was just a few weeks ago when I watched Skyfall, I would say I could use a few more. In addition to the updated decor, they also upgraded to new digital picture and sound. (What an improvement). I don't think they have 3D yet and they still don't have stadium seating but honestly I personally don't care. Lets see if they can keep it this way. So far so good and the ticket is still about $7. I always thought of this place as cheap (in every sense of the word), now I think it might be one of the better deals in town. If these changes are permanent, and the place continues to look good, I might have to make this my theater of choice. OakWood gets a little to crazy sometimes. read more

Disclaimer: I am writing a review for a place that I have never been to. My hubby took the kids to a movie here two years ago. Yes, two years. Since then, I have heard, no less than a dozen times, how disgusting the place was. If we drive by, they go into the story again. Yes, sticking to the floors, yes overflowing disgusting garbage cans, didn't want to touch anything...yes, I remember. You've told me a few times before! For two pre-teen boys who are not all that concerned about the cleanliness of places to be so grossed out to this degree, tells me something. I live in east Hollywood but luv coming here. The place is clean and the employees are super friendly. I saw Jigsaw last week and will see Thor in 3-D tomorrow. Im retired so I now have time to enjoy a good movie once or twice a month. I had one of their funnel cakes about a month ago and it was great. I love this place, love the price and the chicken wings. I take my kids here all the time, aside from the arcade games they have, the theaters offer everything I'm looking for, the price is a big seller for me, most theaters now a days charge from $10-$15 per ticket and that can be very expensive for a family of four, Flippers allows me to take the whole family out and also get snacks for the kids. Movie quality is always great. Be sure to bring a sweater or blanket cause it does get a bit cold inside. read more

This movie theater was a great place to hangout in the past. Employees used to be flexible w/ the ratings of the movies, but now their new policies ruined its reputation. I've went to see 'Don't Breathe' and it is rated R, so my mom was going to buy the ticket. One of the policies was that I had to see a movie w/ an adult. That sucked! So later on I went w/ my sister (21 years of age) to see it w/ me. The ticket lady said that I had to be w/ my parent. We called the manger and the manager said nothing helpful. After reading some of the reviews of all the complaints I felt compelled to write a review. I live in the area I have a teenage daughter who loves going there on Saturday; YES because it is a teenage hang out on Saturdays. Keeps kids out of trouble. They can hang out with friends, eat, watch a movie, play some games all for $20. Tell me that's not awesome especially for parents of a teenager these days! If you don't like teenagers stay away but mainly on Saturday nights. I go there often, family from Miami meet me there for a fun budget day out, matinees on Saturdays are also pretty quite. Flippers by no means is fancy or upscale, if you're looking for new fancy stadium style seating then go else ware but be ready to pay more than double the price. It is a family BUDGET friendly theater so you get what you pay for BUT by NO means is it a dump, filthy, waste of money, disgusting, or getto as I read other reviews say. The "itchy" girl with the Fabreeze commercial reference; come on, give me a break! Flipper's is old but they do try to keep the place clean. Maybe on Saturday nights it might get messy but everyone knows teenagers can be pigs. It will be messy, loud, and crowded so avoid it then but any other night or day is a great place to go. The game room, the food, the prices: win win win. I know I didnt give it 5 stars, is it is old and of course it is not "As good as it gets" theather wise but "Yay, Im a fan" 4 stars sounds just right. As the other reviewer said, it is what it is. A cheap old fashioned movie theater which is why I gave the extra star because just having the cheaper option is a blessing. I just found out Regal and former Muvico is at least $10 if not more (haven't seen a movie in FOREVER). Sure the chairs are kind of old and the screen doesn't fit the entire picture but you can see it. Their movies always seem to start on time too, so don't think you'll be missing previews. You won't because you'll be missing the actual movie! There is no 3-D fancy smancy stuff here. Just old fashioned 2-D. The arcade has your typical teenage demographic hang out. The weirdest is definitely when some employees were running around through Exit doors holding a cardboard coffin cut out. WTF? Yeah, it's pretty ghetto but it's $7 and perhaps I was just unlucky that time with the running. =P Hey, I did save $9 (3 people) from not going to Regal or former Muvico. Also, their automated is pretty ghetto with the screening, background noise and how you really can't understand the show times but that's what the internet is for. My family and I have been patronizing this place for years with no extreme customer service issues until today. I waited 20 minutes for hot wings to which no one offered an apology, my kids missed the previews and intro while waiting, therefore staying was pointless. The manager had no remorse and offered no incentive when I complained. She simply issued me a refund and stated that we could not watch the movie, since she refunded the tickets. We stood there speechless, with cold popcorn and melting soda. I went to the box office and told my story, the employee understood but said there was nothing she could do. I went back inside and requested a refund for the concession snacks too. To which she turns to the staff and says, "throw this out." Smh. They lost 31.50 today, and a long time customer. I'd rather drive to Sawgrass than submit myself to an establishment that can hire a manager with poor customer service and management skills. She is a prime example of someone put into a position without the appropriate qualifications. Go elsewhere. read more

C'mon people, it's Flippers! When my kids were young, I was cautious about taking them there since there were so many teenagers hanging out there. As my children grew older, it became the place to be. Not a fan of the food but it is my first choice for any new movie release. If you can ignore the kids doing their thing and allow them to be kids, you'll be fine. Hollywood police are always there to keep an eye on things but very convenient for us. read more

I actual liked this placed really not upscale but as far as I'm concern the chairs were comfy and the movie was great quality. Best part was it wasn't over crowded got to watch my movie in peace. Because the movie theater is so close to my house this will prolly be my regular spot. read more

Love this place but today I've asked the worker named Destiny (who takes and serves our food orders) for buffalo sauce and she flat out told me NO They don't have any. That was clearly a LIE when it was right on the counter and I surely pointed it out and she ignored me. , I then asked another worker who kindly gave me the sauce. Very bad customer service, I had a lay over on a flight, so I decided to go see Star Trek, when I got there I had a small carry on bag. They said I would have to leave it in my car when I clearly got out of a cab in front of the place, so I tried to explain the situation to them saying I had no vehicle and they said they still could not compensate me and said there was no way I would be allowed in side, luckily a older lady aloud me to place my bag inside her car, a complete stranger, I was very pleased and offered her cash for the inconvenience but she refused, but overall very bad and rude workers there... read more

The establishment quality is equal to the $$ you pay. That means that you pay cheap $$$ for run down entertainment. However I will bring my family here time and again because even for its negative sides Flippers is good value. There is a large arcade much bigger than most that you will find at other movie theaters. The games give big amounts of tickets with big prizes which means your kids will leave happy. The snack bar is OK in quality however do not bother with the meals like the burger because it will be too salty. You get what you pay for. read more

Let's start from the beginning, there's kids all over the place, with a police car present. Ordering tickets, the young lady was extremely rude. Walked in the building, I gave my ticket to the young lady who wasn't friendly at all. As I make my way to order food, I was standing there for ten minutes with no line. A young lady including a male came to take my order. I got the nachos and Slurp At this time the movie has already started. I walked over to hand over my ticket so I'll be able to watch the movie. I stood there waited for five minute for the young boy to direct me to what door am I suppose to open. He was busy communicating with other people. I interpreted his conversation and asked him, "Where do I go from here because the movie has already started." He said, "Oh door number three." As I walked inside it was extremely loud, full of teens talking throughout the movie. I sit down and as I watched what I can of the movie, The teens were speaking loud, cursing, screaming, and talking loud with each other. I notice the slurp is nothing but a water down drink full of sugar. The nachos had a lot of salt. I wasn't interested to finish my meal. A waste of money overall and I will never recommend this theater. I didn't enjoy myself at all, and customer service was terrible. This place doesn't deserve one star from me. read more

have to be honest, this place is disgusting. had to make a Yelp just to say some choice things about this place. saying this theatre is decent is a bit of a stretch for me. the employees are nice expect for an older women who berated a younger guy (she never referred to him by name even though they have name tags) before practically pushing him out of the way and saying she can do it herself. the theatres are tidied up, and by that i mean swept and cleaned of trash, all trash except condoms on the seats and on the floors. the food is ok if you like what i consider overpriced carnival food. the only good thing about this place is the cheap movie tickets, arcade games and the console game room. there should be a policy that infants should not be allowed in the theatres considering i couldn't hear half of my movie over the whaling. somewhere in the theatre portion smells like absolute rancid trash, i can only assume someone is hiding trash under the theatre seats. hope to see an owner or AT LEAST a general manager make improvements for not only the establishments cleanliness but their employees as well. it's embarrassing to see an employee be berated in front of costumers. i don't recommend and i wouldn't come back here unless i was paid. read more
