We love Flippy's. I've been coming here since I was a kid, and now it's one of mine and my husband's favorite spots. We are here at least once a month, if not two or three times and if we lived in Burlington it would be much more frequently. They've redone the inside and it looks great. Tons of seating, big nice new menu board too (although I loved the chalkboard menu they had forever because nostalgia). The food is always delicious. It's speedy, but always fresh and delicious. I can't speak to everything on the menu because we get the same thing every time. I can assure you the cheese fries, chicken sandwiches, burgers, and cheese dogs are great though. Its reasonably priced, and the employees are always super kind and helpful. Definitely one of our go-to spots in the area for a good, speedy but sit down meal. read more

We are regulars at Flippy's since recently moving to WI. Every single time we have gone, the food is fresh and delicious, the staff are friendly and the restaurant is clean. We typically get the hot dogs and fries and the fries are always freshly cooked and piping hot and their hot dogs remind us of a good Chicago hot dog (with the steamed poppy seed bun)- yum! Have eaten here twice over the past couple weeks. Food is real good. Both times I have gotten the Italian Beef sandwich and fries. Italian Beef is very good. Service has been very good as well. My son and wife also both got the Italian Beef and both really liked it. The only issue I have is they charge $1.00 per soda refill. Just seems to nickel and dime you a bit. I would rather they just increase the price by a little and offer the free refills than charge you $1.00 for every refill. We will definitely be back though. read more

I, for the most part, was not disappointed. This sub is the best sub in town by far (which doesn't really take much given that Subway is the only other sub place that I'm aware of here). The combination of all the incredients are might tasty and the only thing that didn't taste the same as what I remember was the bread. Hey, it's okay. I was in town for some business and my work associate and I were craving something fast, greasy, and bad-for-you. Flippy's did not disappoint. I had, as is my wont, the Chicago dogs which I like to use as a type of standard-candle for measuring fast food places. Toppings were correct, dogs were delicious, if a little messy. They have another Chicago staple on the menu, a cheezy beef, which I had my partner try and he reported back that it was pretty delicious. He's from Wisconsin though so I'm not sure if his opinion on Chicago-Style Italian beefs is worth anything. I sure don't trust it, but I don't trust anything from this frigid hell-hole. Service was pretty shitty. The guy at the register I assume was the owner and he was cool but the kid who made the food obviously didn't give a fuck. Toppings were pretty much just tossed onto the hot dogs and beef with no care at all. I don't really blame him, 'cause he's probably making minimum wage but the owner should really make sure things are up to snuff. I don't think Flippy's was anything that incredible but I would go there again. Love Flippy's! They have a large menu, and while I always stick to my handful of favorites, I am never disappointed. The chicken and steak tacos are delish, as is the homemade red salsa to complement them. The Friday Fish fry is one of my favorites in town. Love the 1/2# burger - always juicy and well seasoned. The appetizers like fried mushrooms and motz sticks are top notch. The gyros are also yummy. This establishment has been here for almost 30 years (?); Maybe they already hit the 30-year mark? However when you tell me that giving a driver only 1.50 tip on a $15 order is an insult, well you are insulting for telling someone what to tip. He said "really that's all your going to give them?! that's all they make." I didn't know that you could employ people without paying them... Most delivery drivers make 8 - 10 bucks an hour.
