My birthday extravaganza waffle at Flipside grill!
    Phyllis W.

A neighbor took me to Flipside for my birthday. I had the caramel apple waffle and OMG! It was better than a birthday cake! This delicious warm apple cinnamon covered in whipped cream creation should be marketed as A BIRTHDAY EXTRAVAGANZA! Everyone should order it instead of birthday cake with bacon (although my Service dog ate the bacon and wouldn't even share it with me -- LOL)! I did not expect a waffle covering the plate, topped with whipped cream to arrive at the table. My eyes almost popped out of my head when I realized it was my order! Then, I tasted it and floated away on clouds of birthday bliss as angels sang a private rendition of the Hallelujah Chorus in A Minor (very difficult to do)! My neighbor said that part never happened but I swear I heard it! The restaurant is clean and comfy. The service was friendly and prompt. We went on their busiest day -- Sunday. The staff was working well together to ensure the customers had a great dining experience. The food is not fancy but it's good. It's a great place to take well behaved children and my service dog was not questioned. There's a private room for larger groups and I'm told that most Sundays are extremely busy. The let's were good and the value is wonderful. You can afford to take a friend or family or to eat here without mortgaging your home! Be sure u check the hours before you drop in, as with most restaurants, they are not open all day! I love that this is a neighborhood restaurant that I can frequent by walking. I also love that the gym is right across the street because this food will make me have to live on the treadmill!!! I'm glad I have a good neighbor who shared this restaurant with me for my 58th birthday! I can't wait to take her back on her birthday since it's one of her favorite places to go!!!!!

I've been going to this place longer than I can remember. It's such a sweet local café the prices are decently reasonable and you get tons of food whenever you eat there so you almost always have leftovers The servers are super nice. Especially to kids. The place is nicely decorated, and there are plenty of wall spaces so that it's not too loud. I would totally recommend going. If you're in the area.

First thing I noticed when we arrived was how clean and inviting the restaurant was. We some how managed to beat the Sunday morning rush and we're seated right away. Our server was pleasant throughout the visit. The food was good. I had the hearty breakfast sandwich and it was better than I expected. The ciabatta roll was fresh, the eggs well cooked, good flavor in the sausage patty. The only thing I would change is the American cheese. It's not my favorite, but that's a personal preference. My boyfriend had the potato cake Benny. He said it was good, but nothing exciting. It was also pretty small and didn't come with any sides. Not sure I'd say it was worth the price. The mimosa was good. We'll be back and are looking forward to trying more items off the menu. I'd say it worth a stop to check them out.

On my get away weekend and treating my niece to breakfast wow what a great place to go. Seems like a popular place by the number of diners on a Friday morning almost 9 o'clock hour. Wide variety of choices and sure to please every palate. Tough decisions on what to have. I settled for the Dairy Land Omelette with cheese curds green peppers and onions. Hearty fold in of Curds and tots. Recommended side of tots was delicious perfectly crisp and crunchy. Cinnamon toast adequate not large pieces but perfect with the filling omelette and tots. Coffee hot and plentiful. Attentive and friendly waitress who checked to be sure all was delicious and any further needs. Definitely will be back as prices were reasonable, only $23 for the two of us.

Brunch! Razzle dazzle waffles for me with a side of hash browns.

First time here. Here with my sister to have a conversation, a hot beverage, and a piece of bakery…read more Glad we did. Food: I checked online before coming, and they have an impressive list of drinks, both hot and cold. We ordered a couple of lattes. Mine was a London Fog Tea Latte (a little lavender, a little vanilla) in a mug, and hers was a Coffee Vanilla Latte with almond milk. They did a great job with both of them. My London Fog had great flavor, well-textured foam, and was a good temperature. They did leave the tea bag in, which might be their standard practice, but I prefer the tea to be fully steeped and then have the bag removed. Otherwise, removing the bag later messes with all the wonderful foam (next time I would ask). Each of us got a scone. Mine was blueberry, and hers was white chocolate raspberry, warmed up and plated. Both were very good. If I had to be completely honest, these scones are more like muffins than traditional scones. However, they were both delicious. Service: As soon as we walked up to the counter, it was nothing but friendly vibes and helpful service. They stepped us through the details of the order ("whole milk okay, how much flavor, etc."). They didn't rush the orders and took their time getting them right. When the bakery items were heated up, they brought them to our table. I always got the feeling that they truly appreciated us being there. Atmosphere: The building is a quaint, wonderfully maintained historic brick building. There are café tables outside that would be great on a warmer day. When you enter, you are taken back in time. The vibe is authentic and relaxed. Much of the interior looks like it may be from long ago. It's a bit cluttered, which could be distracting, but I think it fits. There are enough windows to bring in a good amount of natural light. The counter has a large array of pastries, muffins, cookies, etc. The main area doesn't have a lot of seating, and I did find it a bit loud. There is a separate seating area toward the back with several more tables and much less noise, which is where we sat. A very good first visit. Would definitely come back again.

They have several unique drink options , tea, coffee, dirty sodas and hot chocolate. I had the Cup of Hygge one of their signature drinks. It was a bit too bitter for my taste, but the cinnamon and cardamon was a unique combination. My husband had a turtle mocha and I liked his more than mine. They do have some bakery items, scones, cookies including gluten free options. The cafe is very cute and the staff were very friendly.

I only have one visit under my belt and I have been torn on a review, but I am familiar with a…read moreregular that tells me my experience is pretty typical of their own experiences. So, very interesting building and space. There appears to be a fun patio area for the summer months and there's a big screen tv that I'm guessing shows sporting events. My review for atmosphere would be 4-5 stars. Unfortunately too much time doing nothing but waiting and looking around killed the visit. I was there on a Saturday at the noon hour. It was not exceptionally busy, especially for the space they have. We were just there to get a coffee and go. Should be in/out in a few minutes right? Wrong, there was one girl managing the counter and two guys visible in the back area. We waited a full 10 minutes at the counter while the girl took one order ahead of ours. I was getting the this is going to take forever vibe and would have left, but we weren't in a hurry and my wife wanted to try the coffee. So once our order was placed and paid for we proceeded to wait another 20 minutes for two drinks and a scone. In that time the counter girl certainly kept moving, although not with any deliberate speed. The two guys in the kitchen did not come out to help her at all and when delivering only two plates to tables did so at a snail's pace. The place really wasn't busy, but the staff they had struggled mightily to keep pace. This is similar to what my friend reports experiencing time and again. To give credit the counter person did apologize for the wait time to place our order and apologized again for the wait to receive our order. So the drinks (coffee and a chai) were average and the blueberry scone was on the dry side of mid. All in all, really nice atmosphere and decorations. Maybe a place to bring your own drink in, because you may not get one from them for awhile. Definitely not a good place to stop if you are in a rush to get somewhere else.

My mom ordered a latte and the coffee itself has a sour taste which I've heard from others too! It was a $7 latte and she ended up tossing it. All of their flavored syrups are the Monin brand so nothing homemade and very artificial tasting. I ordered a bagel and it was $5, and it came with a Jif PB packet and Smuckers jelly. I wish they would at least have homemade jam or a peanut butter that doesn't have terrible fillers and oil in its product. I then asked for cream cheese and it also came in a packet. The bagel ended up being hard after 20 minutes and I had to toss. The prices are so overpriced for the quality.
