There was no wait during Wine and Harvest fest around 1pm which was perfect. I went with the Ham and swiss on warm French bread. It was perfect and just what I imagined. I would recommend ordering at least two crepes if you are going that direction, because I ordered just one and it was like an appetizer amount. I never realized what a fan of crepes I am! I always thought of them as a dessert. I enjoyed an entree crepe and I'm sold! If I lived nearby, I would eat here everyday. They are open for lunch and dinner but not for breakfast. I think a breakfast crepe sounds amazing! The restaurant is located on the first floor of the back of the Cedar Creek Settlement. The room is adorable. Mismatched wooden tables and chairs with homemade quilts that adorn the walls, create a very homey vibe. I felt like I was at my Grandma's house down in Kentucky. It was quaint and inviting. The dining room was not busy but I asked to sit as far away from other diners as possible. She was very accommodating. We felt very comfortable as it seemed the restaurant was following safety protocols. Our server was a sweet young girl. She was helpful and remained attentive during our stay. When we asked about the wine, she laughed and said I can tell you what's popular but I'm not old enough to drink. I did love my wine from one of the local wineries. I loved my meal too. I started with a small green salad. The balsamic vinaigrette was homemade and boy could I tell. It was light and tart - perfection. I loved my veggie crepe. My friends tried the turkey and the ham crepes and two different soups.. We we all very satisfied. The atmosphere, cuisine and service made our meal better than expected. Actually, Cream & Crepe exceeded my expectations. On the charm scale, this cozy place rates a perfect ten. It's in a rustic and lovingly preserved 19th century building overlooking Cedar Creek. Natural wood, multi-pane windows, period furniture, and folk art add to the authenticity. On this hot, humid day, we were grateful for their 21st century air conditioning. I lunched there with a group (no, no, it wasn't me who picked this place). The café served us a special group menu which included a dainty little salad with hot bacon dressing, choice of one entrée crepe, choice of one dessert crepe, and a (non-alcoholic) beverage. The salad was small, yes, but the house-made dressing scored points. My entrée was "Creek's Specialty," a ham & cheese crepe. Cloaked in a Velveeta-like sauce, it was cheddary overload. My Missus ordered the "Dusty Miller," which was filled with turkey, mushrooms, broccoli and onions (but thankfully not dust). Not a fan of gloppy cheese, she was wise to say, "No cheese, pulleeze." Otherwise, the crepes were very good. But the unctuous dessert crepes were the stars of the show. The dessert menu offers several varieties which feature vanilla frozen custard or various flavors of ice cream wrapped in crepes with different toppings and whipped cream added. The café's wines come from the Cedar Creek Winery, located in the same building. Our servers were friendly and attentive. And check out the cute little kitchen! The menu prices are surprisingly reasonable. One entrée crepe may be enough to satisfy a light eater, but unless you order additional items or you actually want to be hungry 30 minutes later, I suggest ordering two crepes (you can mix or match). I have been here dozens of times over the past 20 years. I always liked coming here for the crepes, Cherry cider and desserts. Today, we were seated immediately but no server came and introduced themself or ask for a drink order. A party of three was seated after us. They were served drinks and soup before anyone came over. We kept looking to see if a server would look our way, but no. 20 minutes had passed, and I went up to the check-in stand and four waitresses were there. I informed them that we have been waiting and no one even looked our way. They looked at the seating chart and one server said that is my table. She came over and brought us water and took our drink order and meal order at the same time the specials were beef, stroganoff, crêpe, and strawberry cheesecake crêpe. I asked about the beef stroganoff crate and was told it was very good. I ordered it and found it to be a little too salty. My friend ordered the Dusty and the strawberry cheesecake crepe. She enjoyed both both of her dishes. But we had to remind the waitress that we had ordered a strawberry cheesecake crêpe and we were waiting for it. The restaurant was not too busy. The restaurant is situated next to a river part of the Cedar Creek Settlement building which has a small store and a gallery. The interior is quaint with large wood table and woven chairs. The place mats give a history of the Settlement and the transitions the building has undergone. We must have been hungry because we all got soup, sandwiches and dessert! Soup of the Day was clam chowder. It was very thick and a tad salty, but the french bread was a nice touch. I then ordered the Reuben on toasted rye, and it was enjoyable but asked for more dressing. And the meal was concluded with the namesake item, the crepe. The Winding Ways crepe was recommended and it was delicious! Vanilla custard, hot fudge, and peanut butter all folded into a delicate wrap. There were no leftovers. Nothing was over $6, and our server was attentive. First of all the good things. The staff were very kind and the broccoli soup was excellent. The bad was the crepes. My boyfriend ordered double of the homesteader and only ate a few bites because the beef tasted like it went bad. I ordered the garden bounty and country crossroads. It did not taste fresh either. The veggies tasted like they were previously frozen and the chicken tasted equivalent to processed meat of a 'tv dinner'. I did not eat much either and both of us felt very nauseous after. One of the attractions of historic downtown Cedarburg is the old Hilgen and Wittenberg Woolen Mill that is better known as the Cedar Creek Settlement. All that wandering around works up an appetite, We discovered Cream & Crepe Cafe on the Cedar Creek end of the mill building, with its own built out space, decorated with bobbins, niddy-noddies, and a few other woolen mill artifacts. Furniture is old, old tables and old chairs, fitting with the mill building. Cream & Crepe seemed like a nice Saturday afternoon snack break opportunity with the menu posted on the door. Sandwiches, homemade soups (that they are known for) and a range of desserts. I opted for the Apple Blossom. It's a crepe wrapped around two scoops of vanilla frozen custard, surrounded by chunks of slightly baked apples, lightly covered with whipped cream and cinnamon. My lunch partner ordered a Reuben and let me taste the corned beef - delicious! I thoroughly enjoyed the light snack and, let's face it, once you've tasted frozen custard, ice cream just doesn't measure up. Cream & Crepe serves it up well. We were wanting to visit a lot of food places during our one day back so only ordered a bowl of soup each and split a crepe. The soups were both fantastic. I had the crepe special (Italian style) for $5 and my Mom had the same; in addition, she had the broccoli soup. This is a delightful find in a larger multi-use building. The decor is refined country with mixed wood tables and quilts on the walls but the food offering was modern. I enjoyed the savory crepes with asparagus, ham and Swiss cheese (2/$11). I also ordered a sweet crepe for desert that was light and filled with spiced apples.
