She seemed disinterested, did not ask me questions and when I raised concerns on where my cut was going , her answers were- your hair is thick , or your hair is wavy, or you don't style your hair--umm..I know all that, that's why I came to you for help ! Extremely unprofessional and expensive salon! I would give them 0 star starting from booking to service. They screwed up my appt sooo many times. I showed up at my appt time and was told I don't have any appt. It happened some other times when I called to confirm over the phone.finally I was told that they had my name wrong and for some reasons I had two accounts!! I haven't really come across anything like this in this day and age with increasing competition. My personal experience was with Yani,the owner.I found her somewhat unprofessional and arrogant.She spent an hour 'consulting'. It essentially included criticizing my prior hairdressers' work.Yani also said if clients are not satisfied with the color,they can't come back to get it fixed.She actually had me sign a liability waiver.Throughout the service she kept boosting about herself in addition to bitching about some of her clients. I was given a discount at the end as I was a first time client but my bill was still 300$ excluding tip . Hair cut was complimentary. I think it was ridiculously expensive for an average quality hair color. First off I want to say that this experience happened more than a year ago. The reason I am writing this review now is because I am considering dying my hair again and am still traumatized by this experience at Flirt Salon. I went in for my first professional hair dye and my stylist was very sweet. I wanted to go blonde like the photo below of Amanda Seyfreid. The stylist made that seem like no problem. When the job was complete my hair was PUMPKIN orange and I am not exaggerating. See photo below. Now I am very nice and hate confrontation so I left the salon that day and then decided on what I was going to do. I called back the same day and shared my disappointment and the person on the phone said I could come in the next day and they would fix it. This is the worst part of the experience. I go in and explain the situation and the owner looks me in the eye and tells me I got exactly what I asked for. She said the lighting in the photo below made my hair look orange but that my hair looked like the photo of Amanda Seyfried. What am I supposed to do in this situation, argue? Not only do I hate conflict but now I am being embarrassed by the owner and basically being called a liar. It was SO uncomfortable. They agreed to tone my hair but refused to go blonde without me paying for the additional service. This was literally so uncomfortable and embarrassing for me and I have been frightened to get another professional hair dye since then. It is one thing to make a mistake, but to embarrass a customer and argue with them this was is so unforgiving. Maybe had I been rude and demanding I would understand their reaction, but I am a very easy going and nice person and was not rude at all. I would NEVER recommend this salon. The first stylist who gave my daughter ombré highlights did something to her hair, but it wasn't AT ALL highlights. There was no difference in the color on my daughters hair when I picked her up. So I called back the salon, they saw us 3 days later, fixed the hair, which turned out beautifully, and didn't charge is a thing. Make sure you see Amy if you need an ombré. She was great. I don't plan on going back, though. I won't pay $50 for a haircut. Not ever. read more

Asked for someone with experience after having a bad experience there. Annoyingly I found out I was put with someone who had little if any experience (a few months) by asking the stylist. It was terrible haircut, if you want to call it a cut. Obviously she didn't know how to cut hair and picked up a few pieces here and there and cut the tips off. I am annoyed I paid for this haircut and will not go back. I do not like to make a scene in a salon for bad cut or color so I said thanks, but is there anyone out there who knows how to cut hair? Very unprofessional. I made an appointment during my lunch hour for a lash tint based on good salon reviews. I was told the appointment was with Yani, the owner. I arrived a few minutes early and patiently waited. 15 min after my appointment time the receptionist told me Yani had just called and is having car troubles so I would need to reschedule. I understand you can't control car problems. But to wait until 15 min after and appointment is disrespectful. She should called at my appointment time to say she was running late. That's not a good way to treat a customer, much less a new customer. I will not return. read more

PLEASE READ! I moved to Arizona 8 months ago and was in need of a new salon to go to. I don't mind spending money for quality service. I tried Flirt Salon three times. Each time I have been to Flirt they have up charged me at least $50-100 dollars from their quoted price. Today I was told it would cost $85.00. My stylist said, "And that's the MOST it would be at tops I'm over quoting." When I got to the register it ended up being $135.00 NOT INCLUDING TIP. What did I get you ask? I got a trim... no layers...no inches off... almost a light dusting and I got my faded dark brown hair dyed dark brown again. No ombre, no highlights, no weird color issues where a complex process would be done... just dying my brown hair a darker hue and a trim that took 5 minutes. During this time my stylist kept saying things like, "You're hair is so thick, you're hair is so long..." Just so you know my hair isn't Kim Kardashian status. It's a little below my shoulders and totally manageable... it's not thin and flimsy, but it certainly isn't luscious thick locks that are uncontrollable. I knew she was just saying that so she could charge me more. Any real professional salon would not do this! She also left me with dye all over my face. I had to ask her to wipe it off, and when I got to my car I noticed more dye on my face! I spent over a hundred dollars, so I could walk out WITHOUT dye on my face.... not my forehead....MY FACE. By the way my trim wasn't that great either. I got a trim from AZ Hair company a few weeks back, which can be best described as one step up from a Great Clips, BUT SURPRISINGLY that stylist did a much better job and seemed to care more! Very disappointed. I scheduled an appointment 4 months in advance to have my hair done before my sister's wedding. Called the day of my appointment to confirm the time to find out my stylist no longer worked there. No one bothered to call and let me know. At first, they scheduled me in with the owner for the same day, but then called to tell me she had been "called away" and couldn't do it. I was there for an hour and a half waiting for a ***partial*** refund. I was told by Cynthia, the manager and one who ruined my hair, that she admitted fault for how my hair turned out. She called the owner, Yani, to discuss my partial refund. Yani declined the refund, and Cynthia informed me that if I took this further she would deny everything she said. Gotta love a place who self proclaims they are dedicated to making women feel beautiful and desired, who tells you that what they did to your hair is fine. They offered to redo the color, but why would anyone trust a place who was not only destroyed their hair in the first place, but refused to acknowledge a situaiton until forced to. Wow... I just had one of the best salon experiences EVER! I'm visiting from out of town and asked my friend what salon she would recommend. She said without a doubt, go to FLIRT...and that I wouldn't be disappointed. SHE WAS SO RIGHT...and now I have one more reason to travel here! i went here solely based on yelp reviews and i'm so glad i did! i called that day and booked an appointment with cynthia for a cut and protein treatment. they were super nice on the phone and even emailed me a confirmation. cynthia was great- she took in account everything i wanted and only cut my damaged ends and layered my hair dry to save length. the protein treatment made my uber dry hair feel great and i've gotten a ton of compliments. i've already booked an appointment for a color- the salon itself is moving but it was really relaxed and everyone that worked there was super nice! read more

Just know if you get your hair done at FLIRT salon, you are a client of the salon, not the stylist. If your stylist leaves, she can't take her clients with her and the salon won't tell you where she went. This is the third time in two years my stylist left the salon. Very frustrating. Now I have to find a new stylist, but it won't be at Flirt Salon. I don't know why stylists leave. I think the stylists are forced to sell product to clients. I didn't like being pushed to buy product every time I got my hair done there. read more

This was my first experience with Flirt Salon. I did some research on the internet and stumbled across this place. Business owners PLEASE keep your websites up to date. If you are going to run a special on your website, make sure that your staff know about it. Also, make sure that your address is current if you've changed or closed locations. Case and point: The website advertised their location to be on Guadalupe, it is really on Ray. I went in for a shampoo and blow dry/style. When I checked out, the cashier knew nothing about the $30.00 "New Years" special advertised on their site. I pulled it up on my IPhone and showed it to her, and she was like, "oh." She charged me $25.00 anyway because it was my first time there. (The price is usually $35.00. First time customers get $10.00 off. ) Also, I was not offered the free sample that first time customers are supposed to receive. Maybe because I annoyed her by pointing out the special on my phone.Anyway, the blow dry turned out very nice and the stylist herself was very nice and talented. Another MAJOR thing that annoyed me, which in itself I should have gotten a discount for, is that I received a freezing cold shampoo because their water heater apparently was not working. In addition, no hot towel during my hand massage, again, because of no hot water. I really had looked forward to this, as I am a full time working mom who wanted to treat herself to some relaxation today. The stylist did apologize for lack of hot water. I called in several hours before on the day of my pre-scheduled appointment time to ask if my stylist had time for me to add a partial color with my cut. I was told, "Oh. She doesn't even work here anymore." Um, excuse me?? This is the first I'm hearing this for an appointment I scheduled 6 weeks earlier? So grateful I called in because otherwise I would have rushed out of work early and driven the 20 mins in the opposite direction of my home to be told I don't have an appointment!? To make it worse, the gal sort of tossed in a very unapologetic, "Oh, someone was supposed to have let you know." And then sounded bewildered when I asked if someone else was able to honor my appointment, like it was somehow not her problem and that was a very outlandish request for me to make! No embarrassed, "we made a mistake, let us fix it!" or "hold on why I rush to figure out how to make this right for you!". No. Just, "ummm... No, I don't think so," and then she was happy to just get me off the phone as fast as possible. Beyond unprofessional. I wasn't ever overly impressed with my experience here to begin with, so it makes the one star an easy choice. Asst Mgr's name is Anna. The person who cut my hair's name is Cynthia. I am going to list the issues. I will make sure that this company has a negative review. The front desk did not record the entire appt. I had to come back to have the color done.. just wait for that part. A very small front lobby. If more than 1 customer, standing room only. It made me feel very uncomfortable. I have shown pictures 2 times along with 2 different pictures, my hair was taken from short to a boy's haircut. Lopsided cut, longer hair on the side that is not as heavy as the other side. The back, completely chopped with a longer layer on 1 side than the other. The back looks like matted dog fur. Disgusting. I called, spoke to Anna. I was so upset when I got the cut , she did not speak to Cynthia at all. I sent a picture and could have cared less. Today, when I went in and told Cynthia, she was so 'uncomfortable'..give me a break, that they wanted me to sign a document so I would not SUE. She didn't remember the coloring at all and then they said 'they have it written down'. So this tells me that they are not prepared for you. What kind of outfit has legal papers ? An outfit that has issues. They can stick it where the sun does not shine. Absolutely terrible. I am going to buy a sign that says that 'I am the best'. Agreed with the poor rating of this salon. Worst experience ever and will never go back. I had called to make booking and specifically told them that I need to get the color retouch done critically for pre-wedding photoshoot and specifically ask them to refer to my record to make sure the right color, volume..etc. I was told everything is fine since they had my record and i could just proceed with the appointment with the available date. When I arrived I had to wait for 30mins and the hair stylist, Mellissa showed up and the price she quoted was almost double the price of what I did the first time which I colored the whole hair vs just retouch this time. When ask for reason she said that was her price and even I agreed to pay she has no time to do my hair as she had other upcoming appointments. This was escalated to the incompetence manager, Amy by one of the staff and she seems to care less and try to avoid approaching me. She actually said to the staff if that was what Melissa said then it is what it is. Surprised at the written reviews here. Tried for the first time, followed the address on their website as new to town, only to find the salon is in chandler, not Tempe. This made me late. Did not get coffee and hot pastry as noted in their description of services. Barely cut hair, put in so much product weighted hair down. It was an unstyled stringy mess. In what I thought was in the middle if my style she asked how it was as she was done! It looked like crap. I just wanted to leave. For a $50 I advise you to go elsewhere. I tend to leave salons in fumes because I find I pay for something that I didn't ask for. I find the stylist never listen. So I suppose this time was no different. I paid for a full hair color as well as highlights and an extra bowl of dye to bring my hair to a more even tone. My entire head was not dyed. All I wanted was my hair to match my roots as much as possible. Then I just wanted to add highlights under my first couple layers of my hair because I dislike them on top. Sounds pretty simple. If I needed to do these things at separate times so be it. What I received was high lights low lights and my hair being blended. I can lift up my hair and see two inches of my roots. Which means they didn't even attempt to get me to my natural hair color. And my highlights are on the top of my head. I'm actually blonder than when I went in. Probably won't step foot in another salon for another year. I could have went in and asked for black hair and I would have came out with the same result. The stylist said I should bring in my color I'm looking for. What two inches of regrowth on my head of the exact color I want doesn't work? She also said well it would be a drastic change. Hmmm don't care I'm paying for this. It's what I want. She also said it would have been a two step process ok so then why didn't we do that? I had an ombre done by Marjan where I came in very prepared with specific pictures and knew exactly what I wanted. I asked for the top to be darkened and the bottoms to be lightened. She lightened the top lighter than it already was, and my hair looks nothing like an ombre. It took four hours and it cost me a total of $210 when I had already expressed that I was not satisfied with the job, considering the only thing she really did to my hair was lighten the tips, not even an ombre. Upon speaking with the manager she very rude and inconsiderate and only offered to redo the job, but I decided against it because my hair is already messed up enough as it is. Oh Flirt Salon! Flirt is honestly the best salon I have ever been too! After being greeted by their friendly staff and offered a warm brownie and a water every time I come to the salon, I automatically feel like I am in heaven. I have been seeing the owner Yani for over 8 years and I will never go anywhere else! Within the last year I started seeing Melissa (just because Yani is in such HIGH demand) and she is just as fantastic. Every hair artist had their own strengths but they have all been tought by Yani. As a customer this makes me feel so much better because I know that if for some reason I am unable to have my current stylist do my hair, I can easily go to another stylist within the salon and have the same fabulous experience. Whenever I go in I am treated like an old friend. The girls ask how I am doing, we give each other hugs and share stories. Been going to Flirt Salon since they opened - around 4 years. Have spent thousands of dollars on my hair and purchased all my product there. Was very happy up until about 5 months ago. The stylists cancels my appts every other time I have an appt. I am a very busy professional and don't have time to reschedule my appt every other time, and the stylist I see is hard to get in to see in the first place so I book my appts months in advance. I had an appt tonight - and they called and cancelled but offered another stylist in my stylist place. No thanks - been there done that 3 other times and was not happy. When I called to cancel my future appts for the next 3 months, the reply was no problem!! Didn't even care they were losing a loyal customer. I am very hurt and won't be going back. read more

Let me start by saying that I have curly hair. I read a review online that said that one of the stylists was an expert in curly hair. I am from new York and have gone to devachan and come out with amazing haircuts. I told the "specialist" what I wanted. I showed a pic and I asked her if she knew how to dry cut. She said she did. She said that she was an expert in curly hair.She was not. She straightened my hair (very badly) and tried three times to cut it. I am not picky at all but it was bad. She did my color well. though. Just because you get a scalp massage and hand massage does not make this a great salon. I went in with a very simple long hair trim. How can you screw that up? Well the right side is half an inch longer than my left side. She didn't even measure by pulling downt the hair to see that they were even. I had an appointment with Autumn but an hour before my appointment the salon called and said she was double booked and could they put me with another stylist - that she was also very experienced and good with color. I had the color formula from my Albuquerque hairdresser and although she said she followed the formula my hair came out way too dark with no variation in the color - sort of looks like a cheap wig. On top of that, my hair is dry and not shiny - clearly she over-processed or something. Her only comment was, "It will fade." The cut was acceptable although she used thinning shears without asking me - I hate what they do to my hair, I told her I liked my hair thick but... This is a major disappointment. I have gone to this salon for the past year or two to get my hair cut. The very first cut I received I loved, but that stylist left and I couldn't find her again. After she left, I tried 2 or 3 other stylists, but none of them could duplicate the first cut and the cuts that I have received I haven't liked. On my last visit I asked for long layers and I hate this cut. It seems choppy -- almost like a bi-level, and the longer layers are so thin. I think it is time for me to find another salon. read more

I chose Flirt Salon for the good Yelp reviews. I went there and got a beautiful hair cut, one I absolutely loved. The shape/design were spectacular and it always looked pretty, stylish and youthful. I received loads of compliments. It looked good curled, straight or slept on. My confidence soared. Within three weeks or I went back for the suggested color correction/highlight treatment. Hours later my hair went from very dark red to very dark brown with white highlights. I acknowledge, this was partly my fault, I gave my stylist license, I expected she was the expert who would lighten my hair to a color right for me based on my skin tone and age. My high expectations dashed, I slinked home where I received humbling reviews from my family. I called the stylist and expressed my concerns, she treated me to a red toner which softened the harsh highlights. I was told not to worry my very dark hair would lighten over time. OK. Expecting this result I didn't give up. When it was time to color the regrowth I made another appointment for this service and a trim. However the regrowth color treatment I received was incorrect, the color came out too light. But that is not the worst part, my once adorable hair cut was trimmed and thinned to an unmanageable mess. I got home that day from the salon with obviously light roots and a style that had absolutely crash landed. No matter how I try to style my hair it looks bad. Typically now it looks limp and lifeless. It is flat on the sides and top, flips up on the bottom and bulges out in the back . There is no balance or design and I look like I desperately need a hair cut. After three weeks I am resigned to the fact that I need a corrective hair cut but at this point my confidence in this stylist is too shaky. I am disappointed and frustrated to have spent loads of time and money only to end up needing to do the same thing all over again. But the real downside is having less hair to work with. read more

I went to see Faith at the Chandler location. I showed her a picture of exactly what I wanted and she said she would have no problem doing it (I was a dirty blonde and just wanted to get my roots touched up). That didn't happen though, she dyed my hair platinum blonde, the complete opposite of what I asked for!! After a day, I was extremely unhappy with the look so I scheduled another appointment with the untalented Faith where she said she would tone it down and fix it. Little did I know, toning down my hair meant that she would make it ten times worse, and charged me another $50 for her error. I now have three inch reddish brown roots with platinum blonde hair. Note to all those that want to go to this salon have no faith in Faith. I'd definitely take your business else where. read more

My experience at this place was so horrible that I am still trying to fix the damage done to my hair by the bleach and color..I went in for color and highlights..Instead I got full bleaching of my hair no highlights and a damaged shirt...This place is a nightmare..I would.. This was my second time to this place. I made my appointment about 6 weeks ago and was looking forward to my next appointment. Just would like to add I called about a week ago to reschedule so it's not like this was a straight 6 weeks with no communication, they also confirmed a few days before! Butttt the day comes and I'm literally in my car on my way. It's about 15 mins till my apt time and I get a call letting me know my stylist won't be there and she (front desk) was just made aware. So that was strike one. I was irritated and really wanted my hair done so I said okay to booking with someone else at a later time. A little bit later I get a phone call from them, let me say that again a phone call from them letting me know they can get me in earlier which is great! I was excited about that. I arrived at about 225 (apt is at 230) girl at the front was nice and checked me in said the girl was just finishing up with another client and would be right with me. And as I'm checking in there's the stylist I booked with weeks ago. (Which is funny cause I'm pretty sure the girl said she was sick but regardless she said she wasn't gonna be there, strike 2) anyway 15-20 mins go by then she finally says "your stylist is running behind and she won't be finished until 330" mind you she's laughing (idk if he was nervous or what) telling me this, now she did apologize cause they were the ones to call me in early but laughing while doing so. Also said if she's not done by then the manager will take you. In my head I'm thinking why can't the manager take me now (Strike 3). Didn't offer me anything! Such a waste of my time. I said fuck it and canceled my appointment. I damn sure wasn't gonna give this place over 100$ of my hard earned money to be treated like that. You lost a client! I'm super disappointed in your communication among your staff, let alone empathy. The manager should've been the one to come up to me and apologize and say if she's not with you shortly I'll take you myself. I would've been fine with that! But instead you had someone laugh in my face about it. I'm taking this as a blessing because I found a new place with a even better stylist that was awesome! Somehow my review is missing from this site. I went into this salon with waist length hair. I called in advance and even sent an email stating I did not want short hair. I asked the girl to do my roots and cut four inches. The first time she did the color it was way too light so she had to do it again. Three hours later the color was done but it being in the evening at this point I did not realize how dark it truly was. Matching it up at home my hair is now black instead of brown. I have talked with several hairstylists who all say there is no way to lift the color without ruining my hair. Also I only saw my hair sitting in the chair and when I got home I realized at least 10 inches had been cut from my hair. Sadly the girl was nice so I left her a tip. When I went to tell the salon owner she threatened me with legal action for leaving a bad review. She did not even bother to look at my hair before doing this and accuses me of slander. I have dated pictures with a ruler showing the cut was more then 10 inches as well. I also have pictures of the color my hair was before and is now just in case. She said because I left a nice tip I have no right to say I don't like my hair. I just don't want this to happen to anyone else so I feel it is my duty to post this review.
