Breathing in the pink himalayan salt, helps to ease allergies and breathing. After I had left and headed home, I felt better. I don't go as much as I should, but regular visits will keep you in top shape when it comes to allergies and breathing. The Salt Pad is located on the upper level of the plaza, above Jason's Deli and the Mexican restaurant on the side facing Woodlawn. There is a waiting area available until your appointment time. Then you put your belongings in a locker and head into the room for 50-60 minutes of treatment. The staff is super helpful and explain the process to you if it's your first time. Definitely try it out!

The leg compressions, they bring you to a nice relaxing room and offer you some water and some blankets and warm neck wrap to help you relax. The space boots you put on go up to a certain level (7, i think?) and you can tone up and down the level of compression yourself as you sit there during your session. My legs felt fantastic the next few days after this. For the cryo, I think I may need some more sessions there to see the real effects. I was in the cryo tube for about 3 minutes and yes it was freezing cold but not sure it had any major benefit for me. However, the man there was able to explain the actual benefits to me upon request. This place is great. It has friendly staff and a wide variety of treatment and recoveries. Salt therapy I know is very useful, but to have the medical grade salt in a closed room is a very different experience. I could see it really helping with COPD and asthma as it's claimed to do. She assured us that if it didn't work out, we would be able to cancel. Well after not too long, we realized that we really didn't have enough time to go to the spa to make the cost worth it with tight finances. We contacted the owner to let her know we wanted to cancel, however, our payment for the following month processed just earlier that day. After talking to her she said she would cancel our membership and refund the following month's fee. A month went by and I never received the refund. We called several times with no answer from anyone at the establishment. Eventually my wife talked to the owner who said she changed her mind and isn't refunding us and will give us a voucher instead. We explained that she already promised us a refund and therefore it was inappropriate to change her mind, especially without giving us a courtesy call. I then called back numerous times to discuss the matter further, however, no one ever answers the phone and on rare circumstance they do answer I'm told that I will be called back and no one ever does. They also tell you that before you go to the spa you should call so they can set up the equipment so it's ready when you get there. However, that means someone actually has to answer the phone, which we already established never happens.

The "great deal" membership requires cancellation within 30 days, which locks you into paying for at least two months. There are ZERO reminders of upcoming charges, so if you don't cancel the exact day it renews, you're billed again. I was charged for January without realizing it and never used the sessions. They refused to refund that month saying since they have my signature on the agreement, it is all on me. However, one of the employees told me I could bring in family or friends in February to "make up some of my money." Yet, when I tried to bring my husband and a friend just once, I was told I had to pay. When I reminded them what I was told, they claimed I misunderstood and said, "you don't seem to understand that we're running a business here. We're not giving out free sessions to everyone." Ending it with a phrase: "this is ridiculous. Just bring whoever you want!" I was left feeling stupid and like I was trying to take advantage of them. The dismissive tone, failed promises and lack of understanding were so disappointing that I immediately said I won't ever be back. I felt misled and taken advantage of. My family has been to other salt spas before and this one is by far the worst experience we've had.

The pod also has a multicolored LED liighting option and a custom misic option. The Epsom salt provides buoyancy for you during your float which gives you a weightless feeling. It was a bit awkward at first because I had never done this before. Once I relaxed and just floated, I felt like I was floating around in space and then had the most amazing nap. After the float, I took a shower in the room under the most amazing rain shower. They provided body wash, shampoo, conditioner, wash cloth, and towel. After getting dressed, they had a communal space with q-tips, face cleaning pads and cotton balls, deodorant, and lotion. There was a hairdryer available as well. Following getting myself together, I went to the main room where they have water, tea, and an oxygen bar with lavender, camomile, or eucalyptus for as long as I wanted. It was dark and relaxing and kept the vibe. If you have body aches and pain or have a lot of stress, this is definitely the experience for you. If you have mental health struggles this is definitely a must do for you. Having said that, this is not meant to be a substitute but an added bonus to current treatments.
